Jennifer is a remarkable person and a wonderful officiant. She beautifully captured our story, making our ceremony heartfelt and personal. We couldn't have asked for a better person to officiate our special day. The process started with a meet and greet, and then an extensive questionnaire. Jennifer was very responsive, communicative, and encouraging with our responses. We had young children as our flower girls and ring bearers, and they were totally entranced along with the rest of our guests. Lots of ugly crying. read more

Jennifer Luu is so great! She officiated our ceremony Sep 8th 2024 (Woo!) and she made it so special! We went with a fantasy/renaissance theme and we couldn't have chosen a more adaptable and creative person to do the job. From her very first words so set the tone for the event and made it feel like it was truly our wedding. She made her entire ceremonial speech on theme and it was just so much fun! We loved our wedding, and we highly recommend her services, you won't regret it! read more

We got Jennifer to do our official marriage thing before the wedding. I didn't want to do it in a court so we chose a rose garden and just had someone we knew there to take pictures. Her speech was a bit wordy and redundant and her suit was a bit over the top. But she was flexible with time and was available on short notice. It was $200 something for it. read more

Jennifer Luu - Officiants Near Me

We found Jennifer because we wanted to do a non religious ceremony that was about us. We found her based on her fabulous reviews and after meeting with her in person.. we knew she was going to be the one to marry us! She is an extremely reasonable person that was able to give us really great tips on the ceremony and the prep work beforehand. Her exercise was a great opportunity for me and my future husband to reaffirm why we wanted to be together and marry each other. We loved having her and she was worth EVERY penny spent! Definitely reach out to her if you're getting married!! read more

So thankful to have had Jennifer as our officiant on our perfect day! She took our raw stories and turned them into a beautiful and moving ceremony that had everyone smiling, laughing, and crying! read more

I'm not even sure where to begin with this review. Working with Jennifer during our wedding process was amazing. If it weren't for her I don't think we would have been able to have the wedding of our dreams, but thanks to her painstaking work on the ceremony and open communication with us, our wedding was dreamy to say the least. My husband and I actually met Jennifer at another wedding and knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that we needed her to officiate our wedding as well. From the moment we reached out, Jennifer was responsive, professional and accommodating. She helped us to plan and implement a ceremony that was completely aligned with our values. We worked really hard to come up with a ceremony that did not emphasize gender roles, perpetuate traditions rooted in the patriarchy or have any religious components. As you can imagine, this was challenging but what was even more challenging was to do all the above while still having a ceremony that felt sentimental, specula and ceremonious. Jennifer did all of this and more. We were approached by older, more conservative, religious wedding guests who told us it was the best wedding ceremony they'd ever seen. We were also approached by guests who don't even believe in marriage and they said the same thing. That just goes to show you the way that Jennifer was able to construct a ceremony that was so inclusive and resonated so well with all our diverse guests while also keeping our values at the forefront of her mind. Hire Jennifer! You won't regret it!!! read more

Let me start off by saying that my wedding day was easily the best day of my life. From ceremony to reception, everything went so smoothly and beautifully. I had chosen Jennifer to officiate our wedding since I already knew she was the best in the industry. I'm a wedding photographer here in Houston who's been to countless weddings and I've seen every kind of officiant out there. Jennifer is by far the sweetest, most professional and unique person I've had the honor of meeting. Her service is VERY personal to the couple and holds the attention of your guests. I married the love of my life outside in August in Texas and it was HOT to say the least. Every single guest we talked to said they didn't even notice the sweat pouring down their faces since the ceremony was the most engaging they've ever seen. Friends and family know you guys as a couple, but being able to share how we met and transitioned to the place we are today was a really cool thing to share. She makes you feel so comfortable and special throughout the entire process. I could pick up the phone and call her anytime with questions and she always answered and helped me without question. She's extremely flexible and selfless. STOP YOUR SEARCH HERE if you want a badass officiant for your wedding. She's worth every penny and brings so much to the table. Jennifer isn't just an officiant; she's a storyteller. read more

Jennifer was very easy to work with. She met with us once and then gave us a questionnaire to complete. She then wrote an incredible speech and delivered it flawlessly. Another awesome thing about Jennifer is how confident and calm she was about everything regarding the ceremony. She's so confident she will inspire confidence in you and make your nerves go away. I would highly recommend her anytime. read more

I didn't want the run of the mill canned wedding blah blah blah... and so I picked the perfect person to give us something else. She worked with us to create a unique ceremony and it was a show stunner. Jennifer put together a ceremony with information about us and who we are. She told our guests how we met and what we loved about each other. She put together something really special and we loved it and our guests loved it. So many people commented on how lovely the ceremony was and how they learned something new about us. Thank you, Jennifer - for making the ceremony so much fun and so sweet. read more

Jennifer's website promised a ceremony that was personal and meaningful and that's exactly what she delivered. She was so professional and responsive through the whole process. When we booked with her, she provided my fiance and I each a questionnaire to fill out about our relationship; we each filled it out separately and she used our answers to craft a ceremony that told our entire love story. We didn't know what the other person wrote so that part was a little lovely surprise on our wedding day. Afterwards, we got so many compliments from guests who had never attended a ceremony that was so personal to the couple. She was so easy to work with and I would recommend her to anyone. read more

Jennifer really did an amazing job for our wedding! She is very professional and organized; the speech turned out quiet emotional and memorable for us and for all the guests. She always listens to our needs and offers great suggestions with her experience. When I was searching for someone to officiate my wedding ceremony, I was overwhelmed by all the little differences between a wedding officiant and wedding minister, and all the different options out there on what little ceremonies could be included within a wedding ceremony. All I knew was I wanted a non-religious ceremony and I wanted a ceremony that wasn't boring... something that entertained my guests & something that would make them all feel special. My fiance (at the time) and I had the pleasure of watching Reverend Luu officiate for the first time at our close friend's wedding. Boy is she a fantastic story teller! We laughed and cried as we listened to her tell the bride & groom's story. There were bits & pieces that were traditional and so much more that was unique and tailored to fit the bride, groom, & their guests. Immediately following the ceremony my fiance & I looked at each other & said SHE is going to marry us! At the beginning most of our correspondence was through e-mail, which was very convenient and we had records of everything we discussed. My fiance & I had chosen to fill out Reverend Luu's questionnaire separately, and have anything that we write be a surprise to each other on the day of the wedding. Reverend Luu was very flexible in the time that we set up to meet and sort of hang out and get to know each other. She encouraged that we brainstorm out loud while she took detailed notes. She asked questions where we needed to clarify. She prompted us when we were starting to come up with some good ideas. She made sure to get to know (through us) the important people who we wanted her to include in the ceremony. She made suggestions on different elements that could be included in the wedding ceremony (i.e. warming of the rings, honoring the parents, etc...). We even discussed some non-traditional ceremony ideas. Soon after we gave her everything that she needed, she sent us a rough outline of everything that we had considered and spoken about in the form of a ceremony timeline. After we made some edits & omissions, we entrusted the rest to her. When the wedding day came, she delivered flawlessly! 3 weeks after our wedding we sat down to watch the video recording of Reverend Luu telling our story and once again we were laughing and crying. I got to see the faces of all my family and guests. They were engaged in the ceremony & absorbed by the story being told. We chose to do some non-traditional stuff like serving our guests popcorn in favor boxes so they could eat during the ceremony. I was nervous because it's so un-traditional but all Reverend Luu had to do was speak a few words to the guests, they laughed, they ate, they were happy and so were we! The way she put all the traditional and non-traditional elements together was seamless! My husband and I high recommend Reverend Luu if you're getting married, especially if you want to step away from the boring traditional type of wedding ceremony. She will give you one of the best wedding gifts: a beautifully officiated wedding ceremony to remember for the rest of your life. She is so eloquent with her words that I cannot even find the words to describe how awesome it was. Let her tell YOUR story... that was probably the best decision that we made in regards to the wedding planning! If you're reading this, you're probably planning your big day. My gift to you is this recommendation. Best wishes to you & cheers to living happily ever after! read more

We had Jennifer Luu officiate our wedding, and we're glad we did. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Jennifer. We couldn't have asked for a better officient. From the beginning she was easy to work with and calming throughout the hectic process. Jennifer's specialty is she learns and tells you story. She's a great storyteller and brought out laughs, tears and so much more. Her storytelling became one of the most special and personal parts of our wedding, and the way she did it really reflected us as a couple. Like most weddings ours had a few hiccups, none of which had anything to do with Jennifer--problems with microphones, etc.--and she handled them seamlessly and with grace. Between that and her help during the rehearsal, she made problems disappear. We had a number of family members and friends comment on how great Jennifer was. I'd recommend her to anyone. read more

I still have no idea how Jennifer did it... she made it seem like she had known my husband and I for years, when we had only met her about a week before our wedding. She has an ingenious way of meeting and getting to know couples. My husband and I put together a wedding in about 10 days, and within a week, she put together a ceremony that perfectly captured our story and the spirit of "us." This was expert level stuff. If anyone needs a fabulous officiant, it doesn't get better than Jennifer! She put in the work to make sure that everything was perfect. Our family asked her where in the world she found her... and commended her for her delivery and story-telling. She is incredible! She made it very clear from the start that she respected the personal choices we wanted within our ceremony... she was accommodating in every way. And she shared advice from her personal experience, which was really useful too. I would recommend her to everyone who wants a professional officiant who delivers the perfect personal ceremony! read more

It is hard to find the words to express our gratitude to Jennifer for the amazing ceremony she gave us. From the time we met Jennifer, she instilled great confidence in us that she would make our ceremony capture our story and our love, and she absolutely delivered. Jennifer seamlessly wove together our story based on answers to questions she gave us that my husband and I answered independently of one another. She told our story in a way we had not heard and certainly that our guests had not heard. In addition to telling our story, Jennifer suggested other special elements for our ceremony such as a "warming of the rings." This was a beautiful way to engage our guests in the ceremony. At least half of the notes left by guests in our guest book made reference to the beautiful ceremony, and countless people remarked throughout the night and even the days that followed about the ceremony. Some of the adjectives people used included "captivating", "unique", "touching", and "beautiful." Several guests told us that they do not usually cry but had a hard time holding back tears during our ceremony. The ceremony was absolutely our favorite part of our wedding, and will be what we remember most when we look back on our wedding day. Hiring Jennifer was the best decision we made for our wedding. There are a hundred good options for each type of wedding vendor, but there is no officiate like Jennifer. We are blessed to have had her be a part of our wedding day. read more

Jennifer Luu was my favorite partner of all the companies and people we signed on to make our day happen. When my husband and I first set out to plan our wedding, we knew that we wanted to place a priority on the wedding ceremony itself. Wanting a secular wedding that we could completely customize, we began the hunt for the right officiant. We found Jennifer on the Knot when scrolling through their list of Houston-area officiants. After scanning a sea of photos that seemingly looked the same (middle-aged white preacher types), we saw Jennifer's photo. Immediately, we clicked on her information to find out more. After reading a description of her services--"a background in storytelling," "truly one of the kind ceremony," and sharing "your collective story"--we knew we had to meet her right away. From the start, working with Jennifer was easy and effortless. She immediately made both Zach and I feel comfortable, took our wants and expectations for the ceremony as a priority, and suggested other personalized touches that we had not thought of, like community vows and warming of our wedding rings. She was thorough but also easy to talk to and funny! Zach and I knew right away that she was the one who would marry us. Our instincts were only wrong in one way: she is BETTER than we expected. The day of our ceremony, she wove Zach's version of events and my own perfectly together. She narrated through the history of our relationship, what made us work, and why we loved each other while brilliantly keeping both of our voices distinct. My friends said afterwards, "I can totally hear you saying that!" Both our guests and wedding vendors, who have seen NUMEROUS ceremonies, told us that ours was the most incredible personalized ceremony they had ever witnessed! Because she shared our love so thoroughly, that energy spread to our friends and family, and I don't think the atmosphere of our wedding would have quite been the same had we had another officiant. You could literally feel the outpouring of love from our guests afterwards. If you are wanting a ceremony that is personal and truly one-of-a-kind, you need to book Jennifer NOW. We are so grateful that she was a part of the best day of our lives. read more

Jennifer was amazing. She has a personable, open and inviting personality. She made our ceremony ours and listened to us and provided exactly what we wanted. She took the time to get to know us and tailored a ceremony to reflect my husband and I as individuals and as a couple. She is an excellent storyteller. At the end of the ceremony everyone had laughed and cried but also knew who we were and why we love each other and are committing to each other. Her professionalism is also very reassuring. She's always reachable, on time and dependable. She provided a lot of resources that helped us craft our ceremony and on the day of the ceremony she was very organized. Our day was very special and she definitely played a part in making it so. I enthusiastically recommend her. read more

If you want a unique and personable ceremony Jennifer will definitely deliver that. My husband and I met Jenn for coffee after finding her through our wedding planner and I knew right away she was exactly the person I wanted to marry us. We wanted a very thoughtful ceremony not just the typical "let's rush through this and get to the party". Jennifer was able to tell everyone in that room how my husband & I met and she was able to convey our love story. She is very detail oriented and was able to take our rambled answers to her questionnaire and put together a story that made sense. We wanted a ceremony that was interactive and Jennifer has great ideas and she was always on the same page as us! On the most important day of your life you want the person that is marrying you to really "hear" what you want as a couple. She always did that! I would throw a new idea for the ceremony at her and I could trust that she would know exactly how to make it her own & I always loved the result! Jennifer is a true professional but she also has a real love for her couples & you can definitely feel that! I would highly recommend any couple who wants a ceremony that everyone will talk about to hire Jennifer! read more

If you want a non-traditional wedding ceremony, you should definitely consider Jennifer Luu to officiate the wedding. We really had no idea how to find an officiant for our wedding, but we knew that we wanted something non-traditional. After lots of Google searches we came across Jennifer Luu and some videos of her work and we were instantly intrigued. We had a very nice phone conversation to make sure that she would be a good fit for us and we knew right away that we wanted Jennifer to be part of our team. Jennifer Luu is an amazing storyteller. She interviewed us separately and then used the results to personalize our wedding ceremony. She also helped us to involve our loved ones in the ceremony in a few ways including blessing of the rings, community vows and an exchanging of peace - we didn't know what to expect with this last one, but the room erupted as people turned to one another to show a sign of peace to each other with a hand shake or a hug. It was INCREDIBLE and almost brought me to tears. Jennifer made the ceremony so special for us and we absolutely loved listening to her share our story with our families and friends. Months later and our friends and family are still raving about the ceremony - it was so unique and many have never experienced such a ceremony and they absolutely loved how personal it was. Thank you Jennifer for making our wedding so memorable and so personal - we can't wait for the video so that we can relive that ceremony all over again! read more

Reverend Jennifer Luu officiated our wedding on May 15, 2015 and our ceremony was beyond what we imagined. My husband and I wanted a ceremony that centered around our love and Jennifer's natural ability to tell a story was exactly what we were looking for. From our first meeting Jennifer's warmth, kindness, and humor made planning the ceremony a relaxed and fun process. Through her insight from our meeting/emails she was able to create a ceremony that was unique to us and ours alone. It's difficult to describe how amazing it felt to hold my husband's hand and hear our story told in front of our families and friends. Afterwards, many of our guests told us it was the best ceremony they've seen and some thought Jennifer was a close friend or relative because of how detailed and genuinely she shared our relationship. Our ceremony was my favorite part of our wedding day. Our guests felt connected to us and we could feel that energy and love throughout the night. It would not have been possible without Rev. There was laughter and tears; all of it coming from such a warm place. She is well worth the money! If you want a wedding ceremony that allows your family and friends to truly be present and be a part of the experience then she is the one you should choose. Jennifer was our officiant for our January 6, 2017 wedding. Bottom line: she was just fantastic to work with. From the first time we met her, we could tell that she was both super organized and genuinely invested in making the ceremony a unique and special experience for us. During the planning process, she struck a good balance between offering suggestions based on her past experience and incorporating our simple (but non-traditional) vision for the ceremony. When it came to the actual ceremony service, we couldn't have asked for more. Her rendition of our story was perfect---light-hearted and funny, but sincere. Many guests told us afterwards that they loved how unique and intimate the ceremony was. We would highly recommend Jennifer as an officiant! read more

I was so wrapped up in the glitz and frivolous details that go into a wedding, we had totally put off finding an Officiant, basically the lynchpin in making a marriage legal. Everyone just cares about cake and drinks I thought. I figured it would be no big deal, you just get someone to read a few legal words and boom done, no ones going to remember it anyway, right? Well, I am so glad my coordinator recommended Jennifer. THANKFULLY she was actually available that day. Jennifer took the time to get to know us and our story and was able to really incorporate it into our ceremony. Anyone can read some words but she really is a story teller and there were laughs and tears in all the right places. It made it ceremony incredibly personable and memorable. It set the tone for the entire wedding, and while everything about the the wedding was great, I can't tell you how many times I heard that, that was the absolute best ceremony, or THAT was my favorite part of the night. No small compliment I assure you! You know it's good when everyone asks how long she'd been our friend! Theres a lot about that night that is a blur, but two weeks later and the ceremony still makes me get the feels. Can't recommend her enough! read more

I usually don't care to write reviews (bad or good) but Jennifer was such a crucial part of my awesome wedding that I wanted to rave about her. I wanted our wedding to be simple and sweet. I wanted our close friends and family in our home to celebrate our union. Jennifer's looks got her the initial interview (I did not want a creepy looking guy at my wedding). Her experience and public speaking skills got her the job. My guests were laughing and crying so much I didn't have enough tissues for everyone! Our wedding was OUR wedding. It was about how we met, how we fell in love, and how silly we are. Jennifer was one of the best investment I did for our wedding and I recommend her without any reservations. When I watch my wedding video, I still laugh and cry at the same moments and that is a beautiful magical experience. And when people talk about how unique and memorable our wedding was, I know I have Jennifer to thank for. Thank you for being such a great story teller and making our day even more special. read more

I found Jennifer through a reference from a coworker who had attended a wedding where she was the officiant. I was told that she was enthusiastic and very engaging. My wife and I learned through her services that she met those standards and more. Jennifer seemed to be genuinely interested in our story as a couple and what we wanted for our wedding. We met with Jennifer prior to the wedding to discuss what we wanted for the ceremony and found that she was very easy to talk to and offered plenty of ideas for my wife and I to consider. As we got closer to the wedding, Jennifer reached out to confirm details pertaining to the ceremony to make sure we were on the same page. On our wedding day Jennifer was early, showing up an hour before the ceremony which was so helpful just to go through some of the final details. The ceremony was fantastic, she told a story about my wife and I through information we provided to her and even incorporated a bit of humor. We received numerous compliments from our family and friends about her. We even asked Jennifer if she would stay after the wedding to help with announcements and she did so without complaint. My wife and I would highly recommend Jennifer to be a part of such an important day for other couples. read more
