They even gave me a custom size since I was unsure between a 5.5 and 6 (I got 5.75). They said I would get the ring back in 1-2 weeks, but it was done in less than 24 hours! Brought my ring in to be resized and agreed to have it refinished. When I got it back I expressed concern that it looked different and I said this is my not ring. I don't think it's a great place to take custom made pieces as they only go by the weight of the gold and don't factor the artistic value a piece may have. They also won't buy your diamonds. Wish I knew that before rushing after work. The website said to bring in your unwanted jewelry. I still want to get rid of some diamonds and I'm feeling like I gave away a ring for less than a song. One of the WORST customer experiences I've ever had! After seeing such great reviews and having friends buy their rings here I was super excited to visit the Minnetonka store. We made an appointment and showed up late on a Saturday and it was as if we didn't even have an appt. We were given free range and a box to look around and the sales person did not know much about custom rings which is what I requested. The second I told him we were going to use our own diamond he could not have been more disinterested. Even worse I witnessed another associate being super attentive and walking another couple through the process and apologized for her peer and our experience as she could see I was frustrated. We must have been the set of customers that had the exact opposite experience at Wedding Day Diamonds than all the rest of the folks on Yelp!. We went in looking for an engagement ring that would fit our needs. We were on the hunt for a loose alexandrite stone in order to set in a wedding band. Not easy since not many jewelers have loose gemstones sitting around their safe. The sales associate we spoke with was friendly but a bit greasy (in the used-car salesman kind of way). He took down my fiancé's information and called us a few days back when the two stones he was able to locate can in. He told us up front that he didn't know as much about alexandrite as he did about diamonds. I appreciated that honesty. However when the loose stones came in he blatantly lied about the types of suppliers that are out there for stones and told us that Black Box was really the only company who dealt with loose gemstones - and they just so happened to be one of the most expensive. Which we knew was bogus because my fiancé had done quite a bit of research on the gemstone prior to us beginning shopping. I think what really did it for me is that over the course of conversation, he shared with us that a guy had come in earlier that day and purchased an engagement ring with cash. And then proceeded to pull out his cell phone to show us the stacks of $100s that were in the safe with him posing like a "Boss". It was in terrible taste and needless to say we went with another, more professional, jeweler. This place and experience reminds me of a used car lot. Blech! read more

I proposed to my lovely lady in July '12 using her mom's setting and great-grandma's diamond, which was very fitting for her/us and very lucky for me because shopping for an engagement ring was a struggle for this guy. We decided to get a new setting and also needed wedding bands for the wedding in May. After trying another diamond store (ahem, Jared's) and not having a good experience I was dragging my feet to try again. Yup, one bad experience wrecked this fragile being. But since this isn't something you should buy online like I wanted, we tried Wedding Day. We dropped in on a Sunday afternoon, and had to wait - but both associates were really great about acknowledging us and apologizing for the wait. Once we were helped, Aaron was great to work with - he listened to what we wanted and we ended up ordering an engagement ring and both of our wedding bands. I was pleased with the cost, as it seemed fair from what I've come across, and the warranty is top notch. It was a very laid back experience and not stuffy at all, which we really appreciated. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR JEWELRY HERE. My husband and I had the most horrific experience with Wedding Day Diamonds. We brought my wedding ring in for a simple prong fix. When we got the ring back we noticed it was different. They had changed the design on the side of my ring, all four of the prongs were different lengths, angles, and shapes, the diamond sat in the ring differently, and there was even ripples in the gold. It looked terrible. We brought it to their attention and they wanted a chance to fix it. We trusted them with it a second time which was a huge mistake. They did manage to make the prongs a lot better but the rest of the issues remained the same and this time managed to CHIP MY DIAMOND! Somehow it passed all their inspections and they didn't even bother to let us know. Seems like they were trying to cover it up. So once again we had to notify them and they wanted to fix it by polishing the rough edges of what was a perfect diamond! There is no way I would allow them to even touch my ring again. I wish I never would have went there because now my wedding ring will never be the same! If your jewelry means something to you please do not bring it here. I dont want anyone to go through the stress and disappointment we went through! read more

I work in the Bridal Industry and there are so many better jewelers to purchase through. My now husband got my engagement ring from them and after we purchased, found out was WAY over priced and they also hid facts about the upgrade policy from him, which made it IMPOSSIBLE (according to them) to ever use the value of my ring towards an upgrade. I have asked if there is ANY way to use our originally invested amount towards an upgrade now or ever, and they looked at me extremely confused and just said "No there is no way". Which when my husband was purchasing it they kept saying how fantastic the upgrade policy was and how all we have to do is spend $1.00 over that amount we originally paid. I will never send any of my clients/brides to this company. They seem great at first with big name designers, but they are cheating you on the price. read more

We really liked Wedding Day's stress-free, no commission sales strategy as well as it being a locally-owned company. We had even visited other Wedding Day Diamonds locations in the Twin Cities area but it was not until we met Andrea at the St. Louis Park location that we found the perfect ring. Andrea was immediately likeable and approachable. Within five minutes my girlfriend and I felt like we had known her for years and had narrowed down our search to a few rings. She brought out the perfect ring and my girlfriend simply said, 'that's it, that's the one." After we left I offered to drive to a few more jewelers but my better-half said even if we found the same ring at a lesser price she still wanted the ring from Wedding Day because Andrea just understood us and who we were. (I looked anyway and could not find the same ring anywhere). I went back to the SLP location later in the week to pick out a diamond for the ring. Again, Andrea picked out the perfect diamond and I was on my way in less than 30 minutes. We went back to pick out our wedding bands too. Everyone that we met and interacted with were very friendly and helpful. The finished rings are absolutely gorgeous. Traditionally, buying an engagement ring is supposed to be a stress-full event but Andrea and Wedding Day Diamonds made it an easy and enjoyable experience. I was very displeased with my service and not impressed by the knowledge of the warranty of the rings. We bought almost a 6,000 dollar ring having knowledge that when we are ready to upgrade the value we paid would stay intact and that we would only need to spend more to receive the trade. This is so not the case. We feel tricked and taken advantage of. Now we have this ring we planned on upgrading, that ultimately has no value to wedding day. I will never shop here again. He was very enthusiastic and took the time to explain to me what I getting for my money. I first purchased an engagement ring and my Fiancee loved it. We went back and purchased wedding bands from Wedding Day Diamonds as well and both love them. I couldn't make up my mind on a wedding band size and ended up getting it resized 3 times. The staff never blinked an eye and completed each resize free of charge even though they had to purchase a new ring each time because it was tungsten carbide. You also can not beat the lifetime warranty that wedding day offers. I've just started searching for an engagement ring for my girlfriend, and this was the 2nd store that I have been to. The first store I went was amazing, they were attentive, helpful, asked a lot of questions about what I was looking for, used my answers to help find other settings that fit, but that I may not have picked out otherwise, and knew exactly what rings they had in the store that would fit my style. When it came to look at loose diamonds there, they brought out some absolutely gorgeous loose diamonds (Amazingly cut, no color worse than F, and no clarity worse than VS1) that were all GIA certified and in my price range. I was in no hurry and was there for a little over 2 hours but it felt like 20 minutes. Here, it was the exact opposite. The salesperson I worked with had little interest in what I wanted, and seemed to not know much at all about what they had in stock that. She took one characteristic of a ring that I mentioned and quickly walked case to case pulling out a ring here and there looking at some and putting them back based entirely on the one characteristic, didn't ask what I like or didn't like about the ones I did see, and we went through their entire selection in 15 minutes (felt like an hours). When it came time to look at loose diamonds, I gave her the exact carat weight and price range that I had looked at in store one, but the stones that she brought me were absolute junk (no offense to junk). None of them were GIA certified, the best color and clarity that she showed me were I and SI 1, and the best stone she showed me was $800 MORE than the best one I saw at store one (and I even gave her the exact color, clarity, carat weight, and price of the stone at store 1). Until I started doing some online research for my ring none of those ratings meant anything to me, and even after reading online I wasn't convinced that I'd be able to see a difference when looking at an actual loose diamond, but Wedding Day convinced me otherwise. These stones were either yellow, or looked like a random piece of broken glass that you could pick up off the floor. I may have been convinced to buy a ring here by going back multiple times to look at settings, but after seeing the diamond selection and the prices they charge for quality, I will not be going back anytime soon. read more
