I waited 1.5 years to write this review, and it's one I hope EVERYONE reads before they ever take their child here. We had gone to this office since my oldest was 18 months old. We went every 6 months, always with results of "doing well." No cavities. But of course, they pushed xrays each and every time. I always refused. When my child was 6, and during her routine exam {which the oral exam was again proven to show great results}, they {the staff and doctor} were aggressively pushing for an xray. Since we had never had one, and since we knew new teeth would be going in, I went ahead and accepted this one time. Bad decision {but in a way, a blessing}.
1. They were not able to show me the xray, and stated that they would not see the results until the next day and would call me if they saw anything.
2. The next day I get a voicemail from the office girl.
3. When the office girl calls back, she starts ranting off a list of all these problems, and all these appointments they want me to schedule for my child, and the sedation options, and so forth.
FIVE SPOTS. She tells me there are all of a sudden five spots that they want to fill. Even though the exam was perfectly fine?
I didn't feel comfortable about how this was handled by the office. I already didn't trust them, and the fact that the dentist wasn't calling me, nor were they asking for my opinion on the treatment plan, I was completely put off.
Not to mention, a week later, I received a notice from my insurance company on the "estimate of charge." Over $2,000.
I immediately called a different pediatric dentist, and we went elsewhere.
THANK GOD we did. Because he could not find 5 SPOTS. In fact, he only found ONE tiny spot that he wanted to keep an eye out on.
Well I am happy to say that after a year and a half, we are still only WATCHING that one spot. My daughter is almost 8.
I am SO glad we left this practice. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more
