Within days, we were dealing with problems that should have been caught before the car was ever sold. Because of those issues, we were moved into another vehicle -- which also ended up having problems shortly after purchase. When we decided to voluntarily return the vehicle, we acted in good faith. We dropped it off with the key and a written letter explaining everything. Since then, communication has completely broken down. Phone calls, emails, and messages have gone unanswered for weeks. To make matters worse, the vehicle has now been resold -- yet they are still refusing to refund our down payment. We were told it was "as-is," but nowhere in our signed paperwork did it clearly state that our down payment would be automatically forfeited if we surrendered the vehicle. Keeping our deposit while also reselling the car does not feel ethical or fair. We tried to resolve this privately and respectfully. We weren't looking for a fight -- just accountability and good faith. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience. I would strongly encourage anyone considering buying from here to read every line of paperwork carefully and make sure you fully understand their policies before signing anything.

The Mini Cooper / BMW dealer OF Clearwater, came back with a $5000 quote on a car with under $35000 miles on it. I took it directly to my mechanic that builds and races jet cars. He couldn't believe it. Hence, Carmax was honest. Mini dealer? Completely dishonest. Carmax is a good company that I trust. This is the second car I've purchased from them. The workers I have worked with have been non-judgemental of the situation I have put my self in, in terms of credit. Mind you, my blinkers were on which clearly means I wasn't gone long. I will add that the guy on the phone was a complete jerk and said because it was my roommates car, i needed a notarized consent at 8:12pm at night. Where am I going to find a notary at this hour sir? Might I add, the junkyard where they tow the cars to is in the most unsafe part of town. I hope the young man that makes commission sleeps terribly tonight because he wouldn't even let me turn the blinkers off while I waited for my roommate to come pick me up
