Many of the items we sent to David were lost in emails even after multiple rounds of Zoom calls and him recording. We worked with David and his developer, which happens to be some person outside of the US, for about 3 weeks. Eventually nothing was completed for us to launch on our existing website. After rounds of back and forth with content that we supplied and many emails asking for various items all the time, David started asking for more money and complained that wanting to launch our new pages after 3 or 4 weeks was too much for him to handle and that he was not able to work under this kind of pressure. We had no issue paying him more money as it was way cheaper to begin with (just like his service) however, it seemed like he knew he was not capable of delivering something professional after all and decided to quit. We agreed to receive our money back and part ways. Our wasted time and frustration will never get sompensated and it was clear that our time and trust to this business did not mean anything to this team. Basically zero customer service. More importantly, we really didn't appreciate the fact that they use cheap labor from some other country with language barriers and only act as a middle person. We specifically didn't want this type of service as we had interviewed several other developers on Upwork and other freelance websites, but eventually ended up getting the same level of service at a more expensive price. The facility is centrally located, has parking for the clients and the back room is spacious enough to accommodate even the largest client groups. The sound systems work, and the temperature is controllable by the client which is also an issue at most places. But the real treat? This research facility has it's own chef. No catered in food that has to be re warmed. No food that you cannot bear to eat. Just freshly prepared salads and sandwiches for lunch, and dinners that rival local restaurants. This morning- they even made custom crafted omelets for those of us in the back room. A much appreciated break from the coffee and donuts that is usually provided by most facilities. Research is never going to be the favorite part of my job. But if it can be made a little more bearable with places like AIM!
