(So sad) Jack's Place is such an awesome playground! The recommended age range is 5-12. There are so many neat aspects of it including some unique spinning "rides", numerous slides, swings, lots of places to climb and a rubberized digging zone. Plenty of field and a couple of picnic tables. I don't recommend eating there based on our experience yesterday. We were invaded by what looked like fruit flies times 1,000. It literally rained bugs on us at the picnic table within one minute of sitting down so we booked it out of there and ate down the street another playground before returning. There are a few different activities for the kids, some the same as the location in Penfield such as the sand pit (here it's rubber), the big standup spinner, and the signature dinosaurs. Plenty to keep the kids happy. My kids loved it here!

We did a little exploring with it being winter , walked along the bike path, opposite end of the boardwalk, on Lake Ontario that turns into the Genesee River trail. I can imagine the hiking, wildlife, view and bike riding to be magnificent in the spring, summer and fall. It amazed me personally too see a coyote;on a winter day, guess you never know what you will see in nature. Coming from Buffalo, where we have a lot of great parks as well, this was worth the drive and a stop to explore. We did check out the structures from an old shipping yard that were still there . There's a few small trails that are on the main map and a few longer ones slightly off the trail that are marked on the map as well. If you're looking for a leisurely walk through a park or to just stop and smell the peonies this is your place to go. While we were there two good trucks were parked, not sure if it was typical or for a party that was going on in the lodge but the location seems very accessible for small gatherings like graduation parties or weddings.

The beach area is enclosed into a square, guarded by at least three lifeguards. A great opportunity for kids to socialize in the COVID times - though I think the playground is technically made for kids 2 and up. In addition to standard swings and slides, they have a modern seesaw, ground level spinner ride, egg spinners, and a boat that adults could sit in (making up my own names). The ground feels like a padded mat so easier on the hands and knees for falls. I feel comfortable with my 2 yo running around without major scrapes. There are bathrooms nearby and a covered shelter with picnic tables. That's the only area where there's some shade unfortunately. Parking lot next to the town hall. Fun place for kids and adults!

We parked on the East Bay Drive entrance (which has a very steep but short climb to view the bluffs). Please note the east entrance to the Bluff Trail has a limited number of parking spots with two porta-potty units instead of a full restroom. This is NOT the main entrance to the state park (which offers a larger parking lot and picnic benches). Although we did not have enough time to explore the other sections of the park or walk the full 1.3 miles of the Bluff Trail, I think the dramatic view of the drumlins with Lake Ontario in the background was more than worth the 1 hour drive from Penn Yan (on Keuka Lake) where we stayed for vacation. Another benefit of parking on the east end of the Bluff trail is that you have convenient walking access to Dragon View Beach (a popular spot to go swimming in the summer).
