I did notice when the line got bigger with like 10 people Then the people behind the counter that were open said may I help you in the meantime they just seem lazy and incompetent to me.

Before coming, I read several reviews for this location, and many of them were not favorable. Some even suggested avoiding this office entirely and driving to another one for better service. Since I'm from out of town and unfamiliar with the area -- and my father lives only 2.2 miles away -- we decided to take our chances rather than drive farther.We were walk‑ins with no appointment. The front desk security staff was pleasant and kindly reminded visitors about phone etiquette. When our number was called, we were helped by Anna -- I'm certain of her first name, and I believe her last name is Lopez. She was extremely helpful, professional, and courteous. The entire process was efficient; from check‑in to receiving the information we needed, we were done in about 30 minutes.The experience was impressive enough that I felt it deserved a review. Every review reflects someone's personal experience, and I don't discount the negative ones. But people often write reviews only when something goes wrong. I like to write one when the experience is very good -- and today, it truly was.

Nobody super excited to be there, but I guess that's maybe not out of the ordinary when you're in the people business. I went to get a DBA for my business and was directed to the proper office. There was no line in that particular office so I was able to get in and out with my DBA. The lady helping me was all business. She wasn't rude, but she had a job to do and that's all she was interested in doing. Another lady in the office was having a very in depth conversation on her cell phone with her best pal or something. She was loud and it was obvious that it wasn't work related. I personally don't care that she was on her phone, but her volume was a little distracting at times. Whatever, it didn't keep me from what I needed to do so it's fine. I was in and out in about 10 minutes. The other interaction I've had with the clerk's office was a phone call. It turned into several phone calls when I kept being sent to the next person and the next person and so on and so forth. I was honestly ready to give up, but I needed to speak with someone about an event permit. So I kept calling number after number until I finally reached the right person. I was just glad he answered the phone. He then directed me to their website which was also a little difficult to navigate, but I managed and found what I needed. Most residents will recognize their annual events, such as the Christmas Boat Parade on Clear Lake, the Epicurean Evening highlighting local cuisine, and Business Expo. The CLACC facility itself is modest located at the base of the I-45 NASA Bypass on NASA parkway just east of El Camino. Not easy to get to if coming from I-45, but if coming from Clear Lake on the right just before you enter the bypass. A reception desk can get you any information you need regarding local tourism, hotels, restaurants, etc. Not overwhelmingly fancy. A few parking spots out front, otherwise it's on the side or back. Local businesses can find affordable membership (my company is a member) which includes appreciable access to tools and promotion on social media and the CLACC webpage. There are a number of member events throughout the year including monthly luncheons with keynote business speakers, after hours socials, and golf/bowling tournaments. Currently there are approximately 900 businesses in the Chamber, with a focus on the aerospace, tourism, marine, education, and medical industries among others. The motto of the Chamber is "Champions for Business Success and Quality of Life in Our Community" which about sums it up.
