Nobody super excited to be there, but I guess that's maybe not out of the ordinary when you're in the people business. I went to get a DBA for my business and was directed to the proper office. There was no line in that particular office so I was able to get in and out with my DBA. The lady helping me was all business. She wasn't rude, but she had a job to do and that's all she was interested in doing. Another lady in the office was having a very in depth conversation on her cell phone with her best pal or something. She was loud and it was obvious that it wasn't work related. I personally don't care that she was on her phone, but her volume was a little distracting at times. Whatever, it didn't keep me from what I needed to do so it's fine. I was in and out in about 10 minutes. The other interaction I've had with the clerk's office was a phone call. It turned into several phone calls when I kept being sent to the next person and the next person and so on and so forth. I was honestly ready to give up, but I needed to speak with someone about an event permit. So I kept calling number after number until I finally reached the right person. I was just glad he answered the phone. He then directed me to their website which was also a little difficult to navigate, but I managed and found what I needed. I'll try to remember to update my review after the event... if it ever happens.

We've been here MANY times for birthday parties and church functions. Every time I've been has been…read morein the same room, however I'm sure there are also other rooms for rent. The particular room we always use for church has an attached kitchen with a small room between the kitchen and main area. That's always where the food gets set up when we have church dinners. There's a wall of windows and the opposite wall has some large mirrors on it. There's a short hallway near one entrance where there's a men and women's bathroom. I believe there's also a water fountain, but I'm not 100% positive. It's a great space for events... even though it smells kind of musty. The only thing is that you have to be a resident of Webster to rent a space and the guy you speak to is often hard to reach. Don't bother calling, he won't call you back. You have to email him and even then, be patient. The last part is not really a big deal unless you're the one renting. If you're just attending then it doesn't matter how hard he is to reach.

While the entire facility is called Bay Street Park, this marker points out when it was just Anchor…read morePark which in turn was previously something else. The marker has been well exposed to the elements as it stands next to the harbor and has survived storms and winds and much more. The marker reads, "Dedicated in 1962 the site now called Anchor Park was the original idea of Charles Lowry, brother of long time Mayor Emmett F. Lowrey. After locating the anchor from the Grand Camp, Charles had the anchor moved to his shop by L.J. "Junior" Elgin. Former Mayor Jack Godard arranged for the anchor chain, and Emmett placed the forms and poured the concrete. "A formal dedication was held April 16, 1962 by Chamber President Stan Sheppard,Terminal Railway President Bill Wimberly, Mrs. Earl Noble, Rev. A. D. Bird and Charles Lowry. Former Mayer Curtis Trahan presented the anchor, which was accepted by Mayor Walter Holland. ""The presentation will not be for the purpose of awakening long dead and dismal thoughts but as a tribute to a great and growing metropolis with a bright future." (Quote from Dedication Program) This plaque was erected on April 16, 1996 following the removal of the old Holiday Inn in December, 1995 by Mayor Charles T. Doyle and the City Commission." I try to obey the law as often as possible, but sometimes I might pass the white line at a stop…read moresign, or I forget to change a tail light, or speed a half mile past the limit - it happens to the best of us! Fortunately, if you happen to slip up while a cop is around in Nassau Bay, the court process is pretty much as smooth and efficient as it gets. I would definitely say being such a small city has a lot to do with it. The staff here is also helpful and friendly. Of course, I don't want to make regular appearances here, but the times that I have been here (to settle the same case, don't judge me!), they make the expectations very clear and you can tell they try their best to get everyone out of there in a timely manner. I would highly recommend just obeying the law, but if by some wild chance you pass through Nassau Bay going above the speed limit and get flagged down, pray for a warning...but if you get ticketed, at least you don't have to worry about a lengthy court process! I don't claim to be anyone who knows law or court jargon, so please excuse me if I may have used a word(s) wrong. Feel free to correct me! :)
