I walked in a surfer wave haircut like 8 inches. Told the middle-aged male barber just tapered on sides and only trim no more than 1inch off from top. He freestyle his own poor taste of haircut with only 1inch left at top to me. Poor understanding of english. I'll suffer at least 8 months to get my personal style back. Totally life ruin haircut. This barber definitely not qualified not sure he's licensed or what. Don't go to this place if you don't want your style be screwed fr. At least the middle-aged male barber. I'll totally avoid this place in future just for safe. I'll never forget this stupid barber!!! read more

I had unruly, hilarious-looking WFH hair (why look presentable when you never leave your home). But an event came up and I needed a last minute haircut. Weekday after work, I called around, and shops were either appointment only, had prices way outside my budget, or closed. Lo and behold Webster Barber Shop came up. One $ sign. Looked like a no frills barbershop. The photos showed some nice fades (thanks for posting ya'll). Called in, and the woman said I could stop in despite being 30m to close. Cash only so had to stop by the ATM first. Parking was hard (busy part of Webster), but made it there 15m before closing. Only one other customer, so I got immediately seated. His cut looked sharp, so I felt optimistic. Friendly woman cut my hair, asked what I wanted. I wanted a simple high skin fade and touch up at the top. And she went right to work -- and was REALLY quick. Took like 15m. It looked great, my partner loves it, and it was a pleasant, efficient experience. Highly recommended. read more

I've been looking for a new barber, and I've found my one. Highly recommend Tien, he goes in and is in complete flow in his craft. Also those more affordable, good quality haircuts are so hard to find these days and he is exactly that. $25 for this cut (without tip) - cash or venmo or zelle only. read more

Big fan of this place. Great cuts . They do an incredible job every time . One recommendation : if you're new , consider bringing a photo of a haircut you've liked in the past read more

The first time I got my haircut was standard and "Tony" acted professionally. Yesterday he rushed through my haircut so he could see last minute customers who crowded in right before closing. He butchered my hair and left a massive divot that has shattered my confidence. I'm wearing a hat whenever I can because I hate what he did to my hair. I wish I could give negative stars read more

Tien is amazing with his cut and fades! He spent a lot of time on each person and cuts with extreme care and detail. I highly recommend him, and will be back again! read more

Finally covid vaccinated and ready for my first haircut in a year. The hair was out of control. Going all over the place like Bozo the clown. I had an epic fail a chain place in the nearby Alameda Town Center so came here. Place is super clean. Took my chair and told them how I like it. Got right to work. Took his time and checked in "shorter?", "sideburns", etc. In the end, super happy with the cut. Very reasonable price for a great cut - same price as the national chain but with much better service. Coming here next time for my next haircut. read more

This is my go to spot now for affordable and reliable haircut. I have had 4 different people give me haircut but all with the same level of satisfaction. read more

I like this barbershop but results vary widely depending on who does your hair. A barbershop should be quick, easy, affordable with tight cuts that last. The price is fair at $25 by Bay Area standards. I have been frustrated the last few times I've gone there in that I told them I wanted the top of my hair cut short, even saying it several times, and them leaving too much hair on top. One guy there is particularly bad, it's like he doesn't listen and piddles around just cutting off 1/8 of an inch at a time, to the point that it took him an hour to cut my hair when the customers beside me were getting their haircuts in around 20 minutes. I will either find another place to go, or refuse to get my hair cut by him going forward. read more

I needed a haircut today, and my barber wasn't available, so I decided to risk it all by coming here. Let me tell you; I do not regret it at all. For $25, I got a solid and fresh-cut that gave me the confidence to do whatever I wanted. When I walked in, there was a wait for the guy, but the lady was available to give me a cut. I was hesitant at first because this usually says that the guy is a better barber, but I didn't have much time to waste today. So I decided to let this lady cut my hair. Once I sat down, she quickly asked what I wanted and got straight to work. From my experience, the other barbers would usually try to mimic what I asked, but I never came out satisfied. However, this was not the case. I walked out of there feeling like a brand new person. Just go in and ask for Vicky, and she will hook you up. She might not look like your regular barber, but don't judge her by her looks. She is THE barber without all the gimmicks and the "fancy" tools to show off. Just trust me on this one. read more

It's mother's day, sunday. This is my first professional haircut since the pandemic. I came in around 9ish am and there was already a guy getting his haircut. Now, the other guy had his mask on while he was getting his haircut, which doesn't make sense to me so I took mine off. As i was waiting, she came out of the backroom and asked me to sit on the other chair. She asked me what i wanted, i showed her a previous haircut on my phone, she put on her glasses, and afterwards began brushing my hair and giving the haircut. She said a couple things in Vietnamese at some point, probably about the acne on the back of my head because she made some grunts when she got to that spot, or maybe that's just my insecurity speaking. Anyway, the haircut was pretty quick, took like 10-20 minutes. She was confident with the hair style she gave me (even gave me a big mirror to look at myself). She charged me $25, which is a terrific deal considering the results and inflation rates. Will likely come again, I parked a couple blocks away. There was a bunch of people (mostly adults) crowding a nearby cafe on the other side of the street. Had a lot of people looking at me as I was taking pictures of myself while walking back to my car. At any rate, it's nice to have a proper haircut after cutting my own hair for two years, kinda difficult when i can't see the sides of my own head. read more

Great haircut! I was only in the area for a visit. Will definitely go to this place again if I am in the area

I've been getting my haircut here for 2 years. I went with the #1 fade, and it came out perfect. I often mess my hair up by buzzing it myself, When my hair is a wreck, this is the best place to get it fixed. Life's too short to walk around with a Bad haircut. This place will fix you. read more

I'm very happy with this barber. There are two different barbers that are working. They both seem equally great. My barber gave me a low taper haircut and a combover on top. I'm very picky with where I get my haircuts. For $25 I'm beyond pleased! read more

I've been coming here consistently for around 2 years now and love supporting this small Asian owned business. As other reviewers have stated, it's a no frills barbershop that does simple cuts really well. I (30 y/o Asian male) typically get a cropped fringe cut with a fade/skin fade on the sides. The service is quick (typically around 20-30 mins), but all the barbers are extremely diligent in their fades. Cash only, but I believe they recently added zelle/venmo options so it's a bit more convenient to pay. The prices are hard to beat ($25 for a cut). I would recommend anybody (especially those with Asian hair) looking for fades to come here. read more

Hands down one of THE most reliable and efficient barber shops in the bay. For context, I moved up here from LA and was worried I wouldn't be able to find a nice a spot that could give me a nice fade at a reasonable price but I was wrong - Webster Barber Shop does it all. For about $22 you can get a nice fade within 30 minutes. Would highly recommend asking for Lien - she's my go to and has always left me feeling on top of top of the world. I also consistently get compliments on my fade and questions as to where I go, so it's just a testament to how great it is here. So if you're looking for a new spot or are about ready for a touch up, would highly recommend stopping by. Tips: - Free parking all around the block - Can get busy during the weekends, I usually go between 3-5 on weekdays and it isn't too bad - Cash only so hit up the ATM beforehand - Wait is usually never longer than 30 mins as they have 2-3 barbers working at a time - Located on a nice street with plenty of shops and restaurants all around - make it a trip and walk around afterwards read more

I receive an haircut from an older gentlemen months ago. I had a pony tail and I ask him if he could cut my hair shorter as I still want it being able to tied up. Instead of letting my hair down, the barber proceed to cut of my pony tail in a instance. I'm not a barber myself but pretty sure professionally that is not the correct way of cutting my hair shorter. Now my hair is uneven when I let my hair down. I could've done that myself at home. read more

My barber was all book for the holidays and I decided to go here. 16 dollars, not bad...It was my second time coming here and the first time i was here Lin actually took care of me and took her time and giving me nice cut with a good fade. Came here and I notice that it was busier than usual and the cut she gave me was so bad. No line up on the sideburns or the top. Just cut everything bad and quick. And I told her if she can cut it more and she gave me an attitude. I just said ok so I can get out the shop ASAP. She then tells me, it's 18 when I know it's 16. I was going to give her a 20 anyways because that what I do...even though the cut is mediocre. I suggest coming here when it's slow. But forsure ain't coming back here again. Tip for you Lin not to rush your cut and make sure every customer feel like they are satisfied. read more

First and last time. Older Lady (Lian i think/owner?) had good reviews so i gave it a try. Go in small shop, three chairs, three barbers this day. No masks on when i walked in..but here's where it gets weird , Lian not only puts on a mask but gloves ...didn't notice till she started as mask ok but gloves?? Gloves really ?!?! Haircuts measured with hair in between fingers...that's what you signed up for lady. Consequently she used a comb as fingers really not-precise method...I'm sure that's not the textbook way it's taught in school The other barbers no masks no gloves...three customers, no masks...like duh your around your colleagues in this small room without a mask . Anyway very quick ,impersonal and weird haircut...end result many strands of hair not even Also restroom is oddly placed ...you literally have to walk through a small living quarter directly behind small shop , go outside and find this small restroom (no sign) it's bizarre read more

This is my new go to Barber shop. Lien knows what she's doing with the clippers, scissors, and razors - gentle & precise with her tools. The prices are fair and the place is clean. Thirty minutes or so after that, I was a fully satisfied customer. Thank you Lien and Webster Barber Shop. read more

The owner gave me a reasonably priced good haircut. I basically told her to just make my hair look good because it had grown so bushy (I.e. I gave her Carte Blanche to cut away.) At first I thought it was too short but I've grown to like it. This is a good local business that survived Covid. Please help keep this business alive. Nice people, good service, what else could you ask for! read more

Tien does a great job with men's haircuts! He is meticulous and efficient, and delivers on the style/cut you ask for. He makes sure the edges are clean and the sides are smooth and even. It's a smaller, no frills salon, and pricing is reasonable (around $25 for a men's haircut - cash only). There usually isn't too long of a wait even without an appointment. They seem to have a lot of regulars, which is a testament to their services! Parking can be a little challenging as the area only has street parking, but I can generally find a spot on the side streets. read more

I've been here a few times now. I have an easy haircut; they're open pretty good hours for me and the prices are reasonable. My teenage sons likes the barbers who oh is a great sign since teenagers are hard to please, especially when it comes to their hair. =)

Stopped in on Saturday for a haircut. Lien welcomed me. She was kind. I explained and showed her what I wanted and she did a fantastic job! She was very thorough and paid attention to detail. I could tell she cared about doing the best job possible and she did! She delivered everything I can hope for when I go to get a haircut. Recently moved to Alameda and was in search of a barber shop within walking distance of my home. After hours of deliberation, I decided to walk into Websters Barber Shop where I met Lynn. The final verdict: She's awesome! I've gotten more than a few haircuts from her now and I have yet to be disappointed. She listens carefully and asks about the look you're trying to achieve. She's been doing this for a long time and will make suggestions when she knows the style doesn't exactly work. If you're looking for a great haircut in Alameda, go see Lynn! read more
