I walked in a surfer wave haircut like 8 inches. Told the middle-aged male barber just tapered on sides and only trim no more than 1inch off from top. He freestyle his own poor taste of haircut with only 1inch left at top to me. Poor understanding of english. I'll suffer at least 8 months to get my personal style back. Totally life ruin haircut. I had unruly, hilarious-looking WFH hair (why look presentable when you never leave your home). But an event came up and I needed a last minute haircut. Weekday after work, I called around, and shops were either appointment only, had prices way outside my budget, or closed. Lo and behold Webster Barber Shop came up. One $ sign. Looked like a no frills barbershop. The photos showed some nice fades (thanks for posting ya'll). Called in, and the woman said I could stop in despite being 30m to close. Cash only so had to stop by the ATM first. Parking was hard (busy part of Webster), but made it there 15m before closing. Only one other customer, so I got immediately seated. His cut looked sharp, so I felt optimistic. Friendly woman cut my hair, asked what I wanted. I wanted a simple high skin fade and touch up at the top. I like this barbershop but results vary widely depending on who does your hair. A barbershop should be quick, easy, affordable with tight cuts that last. The price is fair at $25 by Bay Area standards. I have been frustrated the last few times I've gone there in that I told them I wanted the top of my hair cut short, even saying it several times, and them leaving too much hair on top. One guy there is particularly bad, it's like he doesn't listen and piddles around just cutting off 1/8 of an inch at a time, to the point that it took him an hour to cut my hair when the customers beside me were getting their haircuts in around 20 minutes. I needed a haircut today, and my barber wasn't available, so I decided to risk it all by coming here. Let me tell you; I do not regret it at all. For $25, I got a solid and fresh-cut that gave me the confidence to do whatever I wanted. When I walked in, there was a wait for the guy, but the lady was available to give me a cut. I was hesitant at first because this usually says that the guy is a better barber, but I didn't have much time to waste today. So I decided to let this lady cut my hair. Once I sat down, she quickly asked what I wanted and got straight to work. From my experience, the other barbers would usually try to mimic what I asked, but I never came out satisfied. It's mother's day, sunday. This is my first professional haircut since the pandemic. I came in around 9ish am and there was already a guy getting his haircut. Now, the other guy had his mask on while he was getting his haircut, which doesn't make sense to me so I took mine off. As i was waiting, she came out of the backroom and asked me to sit on the other chair. She asked me what i wanted, i showed her a previous haircut on my phone, she put on her glasses, and afterwards began brushing my hair and giving the haircut. She said a couple things in Vietnamese at some point, probably about the acne on the back of my head because she made some grunts when she got to that spot, or maybe that's just my insecurity speaking. Anyway, the haircut was pretty quick, took like 10-20 minutes. She was confident with the hair style she gave me (even gave me a big mirror to look at myself). She charged me $25, which is a terrific deal considering the results and inflation rates. Will likely come again, I parked a couple blocks away. There was a bunch of people (mostly adults) crowding a nearby cafe on the other side of the street. Had a lot of people looking at me as I was taking pictures of myself while walking back to my car. At any rate, it's nice to have a proper haircut after cutting my own hair for two years, kinda difficult when i can't see the sides of my own head. read more

I receive an haircut from an older gentlemen months ago. I had a pony tail and I ask him if he could cut my hair shorter as I still want it being able to tied up. Instead of letting my hair down, the barber proceed to cut of my pony tail in a instance. First and last time. Older Lady (Lian i think/owner?) had good reviews so i gave it a try. Go in small shop, three chairs, three barbers this day. No masks on when i walked in..but here's where it gets weird , Lian not only puts on a mask but gloves ...didn't notice till she started as mask ok but gloves?? Gloves really ?!?! Haircuts measured with hair in between fingers...that's what you signed up for lady. My barber was all book for the holidays and I decided to go here. 16 dollars, not bad...It was my second time coming here and the first time i was here Lin actually took care of me and took her time and giving me nice cut with a good fade. Came here and I notice that it was busier than usual and the cut she gave me was so bad. No line up on the sideburns or the top. Just cut everything bad and quick. And I told her if she can cut it more and she gave me an attitude. I just said ok so I can get out the shop ASAP. She then tells me, it's 18 when I know it's 16. My partner got a haircut and he said it's about 3 or 4 stars. The service was not very good. Keep in mind they are cash only, which is fine and they have an atm down the street, but the woman who I think is the owner was quite rude and said that they can take credit card for a fee because "it's not free!". Secondly, my partner wanted a little more taken off and the owner who was cutting another patron's hair next to the woman cutting my partner's hair starting saying rude things about my partner in Vietnamese (basically that he was demanding for someone who didn't even bring cash), unbeknownst to her that I speak and understand Vietnamese. The barber Tien always cut me the way I wanted every single time it's crazy because nowadays you can't find someone who is consistent like that. If you have a certain style you want just show him a picture and he'll cut it like you want. IF you want safe show him a picture of front side and back safe , easy right ?. Overall he's a really great barber, he takes time with my haircut and puts extra care into my line ups.
