Personally, I hate paying for haircuts. Always kept my hair short, but my girl likes my hair long. These guys have been good to me. Quality cuts that my girl likes, super cool guys to talk to, and they get me in and out in less than an hour every time. Vibes are high here. read more

Never on schedule and always longer than usual. It shouldn't take more than an hour for a haircut especially with someone with short hair. Talking is fine but if you can't multi task then you shouldn't be talking. We book an appointment for a reason to go with our schedule. It's not ok to have your next client wait for his turn after you guys ask them to come in earlier than the appointment time. An hour and a half is crazy. If you have the patience and all the time in the world I recommend you this place. But not me sorry. It's a nice cut, nice barbershop though read more

You ever see that episode of Atlanta (S2.E5) where Paper Boi runs around the entire day trying to get a cut from his barber before his big event? Well that's how I feel about getting my haircut from Eric (minus the crazy stuff that happened on the show). If I have an event to go to or just need to look right again I can't go to anywhere else. I first started getting cuts from Eric back in 2018 when I was trying to change my hairstyle. I must have gone to 3-4 other barbers before him and none of them got it right. Eric worked me with to understand the style I wanted while also giving me advice on what worked. And now, I always leave feeling super fresh. Best of all, Juan's Barbershop is a real local barbershop. No pretentiousness or gimmicks to lure you in - just real barbers who love what they do. Good folks. read more

Well first time I went was great with Kay but I had to get a last minute hair cut before a trip and just Aron was available and he hacked my hair. I asked him to shorten and he literally shave my head half way down . Now I have to go on a trip with half of my head shaved off. I don't know what he was thinking. He was nice try to correct but you can't glue the hair back on . The review for Kay is but sorry Aron you messed up big time. read more

Juan's Barbershop - Barbers Near Me - Alameda, California

I cannot believe I haven't written a review until now! This is THE BEST Barbershop on Alameda and I have tried a few. Eric, KJ, & Juan are all very talented and each have their own cult following. I have gone to Eric for years because he does a fade like no other. He is really good at working with for what you are looking for but I would recommend booking an hour so you can let the true artist go to work. I saw some negative reviews but I'm so confused, maybe they are the other local barbershops who know that Juan's is coming for their Gig. read more

Thank you Jonathan for the nice haircut! He does it really precise and makes it look stylish! I highly recommend him as a barber for children. The only thing I don't like is the location; it's really hard to find parking other than that, the price was worth. read more

The young barber needs more training. Screwed-up my hair so bad i have to grow it long before i had another haircut. I had to wear a hat while I was growing it. Also, $55 including a 10 tip is quite expensive and i came out like someone a barber-in-training had cut my hair. Sorry. read more

This is the place I always get a haircut now. I'm telling you the most chill place to get a perfect fresh cut. The barbers are always welcoming and friendly to each individual. Make an appointment online if you want a spot. Tip- schedule an appointment at least a week ahead before the event you are trying to look good for. Pay: usually $25 but it's always nice to tip. Environment is cool they improved the space the only bad side is when I go to the store I always get tempted to buy shoes cause it's inside of prestige. My haircut coming out to be 130 lol. It's actually a good thing. It's a great place. Definitely recommend this for everyone. read more

This is my spot for haircuts, its been going on close to two years. Booking your appointment online is a seamless process. You can't go wrong with any of the barbers there. But KJ is my go to dude. The things that stand out about them is their consistency, timeliness and professionalism. I know when I go there I won't have to wait around to get a haircut. read more

I've looking for a go to barber for over a year now since I've moved back to the Bay and haven't found one I really liked until this place. The online scheduler was clutch and fit in my schedule. I picked Kay Jay because he was open at 5:30 on the same day and glad I did. He started by finding out exactly how I liked my hair and asked a lot of questions on what I liked and not liked. He's a cool funny dude in general and kept me laughing throughout with his stories. Also the shop is attached to a cool ass sneaker store. Definitely will be back every 3 weeks! read more

Best haircut I've had in a long time. Juan's place has really great energy. Juan himself is a super chill, friendly guy. Stoked to find this spot. read more

I walked in on a Saturday afternoon. No appointment. I found out later it's good to schedule an appt if you can. I'll definitely do that next time. George was able to fit me in between appointments (he even moved his lunch break to accommodate me at the last minute). I would have been happy to come back another day since they were busy, but they were so nice and accommodating. I always like to get my hair cut at a barber shop, and needed a new one since a recent move and going back to short hair. These guys are around the corner from my house! I've found my new barbershop! Thank you George for making time for me. You made my entire day! I'll be back soon! I really love the energy and work ethic here read more

Going to get your hair cut should be a fresh experience - a revival, something you look forward to. Being said, I first visited the shop back in late Fall 2014, when I had just started working in East Oakland for Alameda County Social Services Agency. Knowing I just started working full time, I hella felt the need to step my game up with my hair LOL, so I was recommended by a co-worker to check this place out. Glad I did, and since then, I've gotten my cut with Juan these past 2 years, and will continue to do so. Never felt invigorated and refreshed after every fresh cut. Juan delivers not only great precision and passion in his work, but in his clients as well. His work is his passion and it shows. So fellas... (and ladies), we all know how much of a trust-fall it is to have someone touch your hair. Just be honest on what you'd like Juan to do to your hair, and don't be afraid to ask Juan for suggestions! Impeccable line-ups, hard parts, seamless/bald fades, smooth tapers, yea he's got it! What separates him though is not the skills of his blades, but the ears on his head. He's a barber that LISTENS to his clientele and DELIVERS; plus he treats you like a brother, couldn't have ask for more than how the way the shop is like family. I can't say enough how happy I am to have found a barber for myself, who is local and down-to-earth and very fair/reasonable with his pricing. Come check it out, and just see for yourself! read more

Juan's Barbershop - U Da Man, Juan! #freshfromthebarber - Barbers Near Me - Alameda, California

I had fallen behind on my manscaping and needed a good chest taper before I went to Las Vegas and bared all at the pool parties. Anyway, Juan had no problem draping the barber cape around my waist and going to town on my hairy shoulders. The man is the consummate artist in what he does. He glided over everything with a size 3 blade to stop most of the curling and then trimmed down everything with the smoothest detail trimmer. He was a blur of retro BAPE x DMND as he deftly trimmed my body. I basically looked like a good Drake haircut, but it was my body and not my/Drake's head. He gave me some great tips as well and put the smoothest pomade that I've ever had before to keep my stomach hair/happy trail down but in the least awkward way one could have man-to-man contact. Before, I always thought I could only style my body hair as a man-cub or deal with a solid waxing that would make me feel kinda girly. However, Juan knows how to keep a solid square yard of body hair looking super clean. *Will post pics soon!* read more

Great place to come and get a haircut. Eric is an all around great guy has great customer service skills, knows his way with his clippers and scissors. The barber shop is filled all around with great friendly staff they're so welcoming, you walk right in get greeted on the spot and they make you feel at right at home. Juan's barber shop is an amazing place it's safe to say that Eric has a brand new loyal customer thank you again for blessing me with that fresh cut! read more

Thanks Juan for accommodating my son for a last minute request since we were in the area and we came all the way from Victorville! Juan did an awesome job! Couldn't ask for a better barber. read more

Been getting cut by Eric for 3 years now. Always takes his time and makes sure to ask questions about personal style preference, hair length, and fade height. My girlfriend loved my first cut from him and I been coming back ever since! read more

This place is in the back of a shoe store (PRSTG). This was a little confusing at first, but look for the barber pole in the window. Kenny cut my hair. He was very friendly, took his time, and did a pretty good job. He made some recommendations, I trusted him, it turned out great. The cut was $19. They accept credit cards (woooo) and are open 7 days per week. read more

Juan knows his stuff. I got the haircut and shave special, and it was a great experience. Couldn't be happier with my bald fade combover, and the shave got rid of all my unnecessary chin pubes. Nothing better than receiving a great cut while talking about the important things in life (sports and women). I will definitely be coming back! read more

Juan's Barbershop - Fresh out the shop - Barbers Near Me - Alameda, California

I know how hard it is to find a barber. Haircuts aren't cheap and it takes a long time to recover from a terrible cut. Everyone at this shop is at another level. The best cut you'll ever get. read more

I've been coming here since they opened with PRSTG, and Juan and his staff KayJay and Schyss (doesn't work there anymore) are some cool dudes. Reason I love this shop so much is because of the location it's literally 1 minute from my house. Before I went to Shortcutz in hayward which I highly recommend if your in the San Leandro / hayward area to go check out Jeff & Ant but I commuted from alameda to hayward probably once a week and it was cool but once I heard there was a barbershop finally opening in my city I was jumping for joy because I would save a lot of money on gas and plus it's not far from home. Juan and KayJay do great work from fades to tapers to Mohawks to combovers you name it they have done it. I am a loyal customer forever read more

Bars. Dope atmosphere and great convo. Make an appointment and get fresh. Support this local business.

Before finding this Barber Shop, I have been trying out different ones, and I must say none of them come even close to Juan's Barber Shop. I chose Kay, randomly using the Schedulicity app, and I do not regret it a bit! I have always had an awkward relationship with Barbers and would be nervous to say anything, but with Kay he is very open and makes you feel comfortable. He actually got me to speak which has never happened. Additionally, apart from being a humble dude, he always asks periodically if the cut looks good and if there's something you would prefer him to do, and that is another reason how he excels as a barber. The cut always looks fresh as well, no complaints on that. The price could have people thinking twice, but I assure you the experience is top notch. read more

Great little shop, cool and cozy environment, all the barbers are friendly and make you feel like you're at home. My barber is Jonathan Espinosa and I can always count on him to make me come out a new man. This is definitely the place to go read more

This a modern day barber shop with the traditional barber shop vibe. Everything is clean and new. They have beer in case you are waiting for an appointment that you probably scheduled online. Juan designed this place for people who are looking for a serious haircut using a meticulous technique. The barbers are very detail oriented and are not afraid to take the extra minute. They even have this super traditional barber apron. Music is super chill to listen to. The furniture has this rustic appearance. Be sure to look at Juan's wall of legends. read more

Best place to get your hair cut in the East Bay. Juan Kj and Jon are great barbers and any one of them will leave you feeling A1. They have an online scheduling system where you can book appointments with ease! Walk ins are welcome but spots usually fill up fast so I would recommend making an appointment a couple days early. Come by for a quality cut and have quality barbershop talks. read more

I was in need of a haircut and the barber I usually go to did not meet my standards. I heard about this spot from a friend and decided to give it a shot. It's in the back of Prstg and has a pretty cool ambience. The barber was very receptive to how I wanted to get cut. He provided suggestions and you could tell he knew what he was talking about. I ended up with an awesome haircut. They have converted me as a regular! I highly recommend this shop! They're open 7 days a week!! read more

A great barbershop for those looking for a great haircut. I used to go to this one place near my house until the owner raised her prices. I figured that if I'm going to pay 20 for a haircut, I might as well go to a pay a bit more for a better haircut. This is my second time getting a haircut, and both times were great. Kenny/KJ and Juan are friendly and professional about their craft. They will take take their time to make sure you look fresh before leaving their store. They do take credit card but at an inconvenience fee of 2 bucks. read more

I've been going to Juan for a while now. I always leave with a dope bald fade and happy as I could be. KJ also does great work and can't go wrong scheduling with him either. I've never had a haircut from Barber Jon, but from what I heard and the fact he is always busy, tells me he does quality work. Schedule your appointment online, be prompt and tip well! Juan's Barbershop is the best. Good vibes when you come in. Barbers who are welcoming, give great service and enjoy their craft. I recommend booking online to secure an appointment as they certainly get busy and sometimes have to turn walk ins away as they just keep getting busier. read more

Juan is great always looks after me. Dude does a mean fade! Would highly recommend this place.

6 months after my terrible experience and still haven't heard from the owner. They obviously don't care about their customers.

Did a great job on my son's difficult hair!!!

I've been going to Juan's Barbershop for the past year, and they never fail to disappoint. I usually get cut by Jonathan and he always comes through and gives haircuts that are works of art. He takes his time paying attention to detail to make sure your haircut is perfect. But it really doesn't matter who you get your hair cut by. Jonathan, KJ, Juan, they're all great barbers! You can tell how passionate they are and how much they care about making their clients happy by making sure they get the cut they want. If you want a guaranteed, high quality haircut, there's nowhere else to go excepts Juan's! read more

So this is the 2nd time ever that I have paid to get my hair cut in my adult life. The first cut I paid for which was 3 months ago ( yea 3 months ago ) if you didn't get it, that means I didn't go back for a reason. So since the I was cutting my own hair, let's just say trying to cut your own " mid skin.fade pomp ) " no bueno". So I did some searching and asked my friends and they highly recommended Juan's barbershop, so I made my appointment the next following day came in there was greeted professionally in a cool way and I didn't even have to show him a picture just told him what I wanted and he got it Right better than what I expected. I highly recommend getting making this dude your personal barber, also chatting with him about boxing and sports was awesome thanks again. I'll see you in two weeks. read more

I travel to alameda all the way from Vallejo to get cut at Juan's. It's worth the drive. I didn't go to a barber for over 20 years before I started going here. The decision was worth it. I only want to get cut at Juan's barbershop. Juan takes a lot of pride in his craft and you can tell when you are there and when you leave the shop. I've never left disappointed. The atmosphere is great too. I come here for the nice cuts and the laughs with the rest of the crew. It's a unique experience here and a lot of fun. Go to Juan's barbershop to find out for yourself. You won't regret it. read more

Juan's Barbershop is the real deal. I have been coming here for awhile now and have been cut by all of the guys there and all of them are legit! Not only are they great at what they do, but they're genuinely nice guys. The atmosphere is super chill, laid back and I truly enjoy my time every time I'm in the chair. They do walk-in's but highly recommend going to https://www.schedulicity.com/scheduling/JBSW9X and booking your appointments online that way there's no confusion and it's super easy to use.
