Just wanted to post a heads-up regarding the Walgreens on Civic Center by Barlow plaza. I am never one to share stories like this, but this could have hurt my kids. I have two kids with rip-roaring ear infections, each of whom needed antibiotics. They told me they'd be ready in an hour. I waited in the car line for half an hour, got to the front, and was told they weren't ready and to go to the back of the line. I get to the front of the line, take the meds, and go home to treat my kids. Get home and find out that they didn't prepare the meds-- they gave me the powder and no instructions. Called and asked for them to have a reconstituted one when I went back a THIRD TIME. Got there, asked to speak to a manager when at the car window, the manager listened to my complaint, put the correct medication in the box, and said "is there anything else I can help you with?" I said "yes, it would be nice if someone apologized for screwing this up three times." He smiled, said "have a nice day," and walked away. They gave me the wrong medication for my kid. Then they gave me unprepared medication. Then a third time, they gave me the correct medication. Not once did anyone apologize. Imagine if they had messed up another child's medication and the parent hadn't caught it. Unbelievable. I will be writing to corporate, but wanted to warn moms here to check any prescriptions you get from that pharmacy, because their incompetence caused an error that could have hurt my child.

Almost every week since February 26, 2026 I asked the Pharmacy in person about the status of my prescription, I was told the same thing: your doctor didn't respond to our request. They also promise me that they would fax the request to my doctor again. On April 26, 2026 I went to the Pharmacy and talked to Cory. He told me the same thing. I asked him to show me the fax number they used to fax their request to my doctor's office. He told me he couldn't do that because the fax number was private information. I also asked him to show me the record of how many times and on which day the pharmacy contacted my doctor's office. Cory told me that the pharmacy had more than four hundred customers and it would be impossible for the pharmacy to follow up each request. I told him that Mayo Clinic perhaps had more than four million patients worldwide, but Mayo never told its patients that they could not check anything for their patients. Cory then said he had to close the window because it would be lunch time for the pharmacy. It was ten minutes to 2:00pm. If I remember correctly, lunch time for this pharmacy does not start at 2:00pm. Obviously, Cory was trying to rush me away. My experience with this pharmacy has confirmed the negative reviews about this Walgreen Pharmacy online: rude, careless and unprofessional. Who dares to put his or her health into such bad hands?

I have gotten these same type of latex helium balloons at Party City and have never experienced this! Needless to say my daughters surprise this morning fell flat (literally). Called in to speak with the staff, waited on hold and was transferred about five times for about 10 minutes. The ladies I spoke to not only lacked empathy, hence customer service, but refused a refund (not once did I get a "I'm sorry that happened, but this is how long our balloons last"). Now, they went on to say, in between a little laugh at one point (lack of empathy, lack of professionalism), that their helium balloons are only good for 4-6 hours. They said there is a GIANT sign (I Clearly missed that) that says only good for 4-6 hours. If that's the case, my bad, but in my defense, like I said, I've never experienced this with a helium balloon (unless they were outside or cold). Sounds like Hunts needs a better quality helium tank and classes on better customer service. I was offered a "refill" of the poor quality balloons they gave me, no refund. Why would I go all the way back into the store for a refill on crap balloons. Advice: DO NOT GET YOUR BALLOONS FROM HUNTS!
