I have been using Weavers Auto Repair for many years and have found this business relatively fair in pricing; workmanship; and honesty! However, I have found on a handful of occasions I needed to bring my vehicle elsewhere for mechanical matters that were over the mechanics head. And to be fair, there were occasions where I was happy that they went out of there way to try to diagnose an issue. I find the fact that, as a sole proprietor business, if they have a personal or family emergency overnight, and your vehicle is scheduled for service the next morning, you will not be notified that they will be closed. As a result, you will treck down the next day with your vehicle, and find out no one is there. I'm a big fan of the service at Weaver's Auto. My wife and her entire family recommended it to me years ago and it has always been top notch. Pricing is reasonable - none of the insane inflation that goes on at dealerships and chains. The guys are thorough but quick to recommend against unneccessary parts/work. My family has been going to Weaver's for years to perform repairs...my mom first and now me and my sisters. We've also had them check out all candidates for used car purchases before we buy them...these guys have saved us from making costly mistakes in that regard. John and Jay are honest, good at what they do, and charge a very reasonable price. The only downside to that is that their great work keeps them busy with lots of customers, so be sure not to come to them last minute. One reason why I am glad to be graduated and back home from school...the mechanics in my (former) college town are crooks. I have been using Weaver's Auto for 13 years. Originally we lived within walking distance so we tried it. We have been going back ever since even after moving to a different town. They do an excellent job working with you to make sure your car gets worked on quickly and you get it back easily. In terms of service they are one those rare gems. They will give you a true estimate of what is wrong, how much it will take to fix and as accurate a timetable as they can. They will also tell you if something doesn't need to be done right away or if there are different cost options and then they let you decide. If you want free coffee, TV and internet while you wait for the work to be done this may not be the place for you (although you can get all of those other things at the coffee shop across the street). But if you want an honest appraisal of what does and does not need to be done, work done properly the first time and a price that's fair you won't find a better place in the area. I've taken my old car there a few times now, and they are fast and affordable. I had a problem where I couldn't shift my car from drive to park, and at first he thought it would have been a transmission problem, which would have meant that they couldn't do it and it would be expensive. Owner looked at it further and discovered it needed a new button, so my repair went from thousands to less than a hundred! Basically this place is all you want in a mechanics place. They are quick and to the point, they do not overcharge and they are honest with what is being done. Every time I drop my suv off, I just say "this feels off" or "could you check this" and it's over and done with usually the same day. That's really all I ever want with a mechanic. Don't know what these other reviews refer to. Made an appointment to drop off my car because after talking to the guy on the phone, he seemed personable and competent. Quoted a reasonable price for the job I wanted to perform. Showed up at the garage in the morning, not a single car on the lift and waited outside for several minutes while the guy inside the office (owner? mechanic? cashier?) shot the breeze with some other guy like some lazy Sunday afternoon. I cold called Weaver's when the hinges broke on the gate window of my 2003 Mazda Tribute. They knew exactly what I was talking about, agreed to see it immediately. The part took a day to come in but the actual repair took an hour. They were prompt and the labor fees reasonable. This was my first trip to Weaver's but I'll be going back. He and his brother Jay are extremely capable, knowledgeable, friendly, dependable, and reasonably priced. Great honest, reasonably priced old school repair shop. Can't ask for any better.

I've been to Weaver's twice now, once a couple years ago for a groaning noise when I turn corners, which I was told was not a problem I needed to fix, at a major chain I may have spent a lot chasing a problem that won't go away. Recently I had some work done to replace my brake lines, and Weaver's worked with me to keep costs manageable and gave me a good assessment of the status of my older, but under-utilized car. I think this is the sort of place that those of us who grew up lower middle class, and in the sticks so to speak, long for within the yuppie city limits. The customer service may not be warm and fuzzy, and service may not be quite as prompt as it would be at a big name, but if you are willing to accept that you'll save money and have some excellent guys doing excellent, considerate work on your car. read more
