Probably the best Dr I have ever been to…read more I have been seeing Dr Moodie for the past 3 or 4 years for a neurological condition. She's thorough, smart and has a very pleasant bedside manner. Appointments are never rushed, and every time I walk in, she is on top of my previous appointments, symptoms, test results, etc. In other words; she does her homework, takes the time to know her patients and genuinely seems to care. I have been doing very well since under her treatment, and pretty much, all credit goes to her her for keeping me ambulatory these past few years. Initially, I was probably not the best patient. As likely true with most any drug(s)/treatment, sometimes they can come along with a certain amount of risk for some nasty, sometime serious side effects. Dr Moodie has always made me aware of this--and not once was I pressured, or rushed into making a decision on any particular treatment. She always gave me the facts, urged me to look into it, and I was the one who ultimately who made the decision. I'd highly recommend her, and hope she never relocates.

From my very first visit, she has always laid out the information in a clear and concise manner and left the decisions up to me. Ive had several neurologists before Dr. Izzo who kinda tossed their hands up unsure what to do about it. I first saw him about a year and a half ago when he casually informed me that there is a specific medicine for my disease- that apparently many neurologists have never heard of despite it being around for a while. It took six months of fighting my insurance to approve it- something that Izzo and his team had no issue going to bat for me. And even when it was approved coverage- they tried taking the medicine away from me. To which I had to get a lawyer, and once again- Izzo and his team went to bat for me. Writing up several letters and lectures to the insurance to get it through their heads *she needs this medicine to have a chance at life*. Not once did they give up on me. Not once did they come off annoyed or burdened. They worked together to help me, and for the first time in my LIFE I am able to FUNCTION for the most part like a normal person. My disease used to rule my life and my identity, Izzo didn't stand for that and he put his all in to help me get the care and coverage I needed while empathetically checking in with me to make sure i was on the right track. I have been mostly symptom free from Narcolepsy and Cataplexy for a year now. It's hard to find a doctor that understands the challenges of this intense disorder- but Izzo gets it completely. I never feel doubted or scrutinized about the severity of my illness. He just gets it, and now a days that is quite hard to find. He's great. If you want a high integrity neurologist who pays careful attention and constructs the best care plan- go see Izzo. :)

No one bothered to inform me that the appointment would be 1.5 hours long until the automated reminder call. At which time, I was also told I'd be seeing their new NP not the actual MD. 3. I made several attempts to call, but no one picked up. I left a voicemail stating the issue and requesting a call back. ⁉ 4. One more attempt was made to speak to someone. I spoke with the rudest, most unprofessional, and condescending individual. The conversation was so bad that I decided to cancel. Transferred to reception and straight to voicemail...again! ‍ 5. I was halfway home before I received a return call after leaving 2 voicemails. 6. The person knew exactly who I was referring to when I recounted the experience. Apparently, he's in billing on another floor, and no one can control how he speaks to patients. Really?! 7. An attempt was made to guilt me into keeping my appointment. After all, they had set aside 1.5 hours for me; yet, I was no longer going? No, ma'am. ‍ 8. Reminder, there's only one chance to make a first impression. Not providing valuable information and knowingly employing such unprofessional staff does not leave an impression that quality care would be received. ‼ 9. The providers may or may not be excellent. I'll never know. There are plenty of MDs to choose from in this area. I do not recommend selecting this one.

You will need to wait for someone to return one. Try having oxygen for those customers like other hospitals. I don't know maybe have someone to assist patients not sit there and give attitude. This hospital has the worst customer service and assistants I have ever witnessed. The wheel chairs around if you're lucky enough to find one, it's missing pieces don't work properly and are all rust. Oxygen forget it. Ask the ladies out front for oxygen that's a joke they would have to move. Spent some time in the Emergency room a few months ago and the room was filthy, holes in the wall room 1. Pills on the floor from the previous patient. Found dirty used bandages on the bed again from a previous patient. I honestly believe this hospital should either step up or sell. Worcester deserves better. My dogs vet office treats you better and is cleaner.

Unfortunately, I chose this time period to come down with Covid 19 and some other health issues. The lack of care, empathy, and assistance I received from this practice was appalling. To say that the gatekeepers answering the phones and the nurses (if I was lucky enough to get put through to one) could care less about my needs, is an understatement. All they seemed capable of doing was directing me to urgent care or my 'PCP' which I didn't have because as I had told the 3 people I had just talked to, she had left and the new one I had found wasn't able to treat until I saw her in October, 6 months away. Paxlovid to keep my covid symptoms at bay?....No can do! Three day hospitalization for a bowel obstruction?....Sucks to be you! Back pain that made sitting an impossibility?....Have you tried your PCP, dear? Honestly!! Not sure why they were even bothering to answer their phones. They said Auburn could maybe help. I said 'great!' Apparently the folks at the Auburn clinic are just as patient-averse as Worcester and just as uncaring. Good news is my former MD has popped up again and NOT affiliated with this place and I can't wait to have her back! If you want good, kind medical care, St. V's should be last on your list.
