He had some ideas on what might have happened after my discussion and he scheduled me for repairs for the next day. Mark and Anthony replaced two big broken door-lift springs, replaced two badly bent roller brackets, lubed all hinges and tuned the action of the door-lift motor. All for a reasonable cost. Their work was excellent and completed within an hour. I chatted with them as they worked and learned quite a lot about my garage doors. Unbeknown to me, one of the door springs broke years ago, and the second spring just broke and made it impossible to lift the door. I wondered about the weight of my big 16' x 7' Wayne Dalton insulated doors and was surprised that they weigh about 500 lbs!

They charged me for two people working on the job and justified it by saying that it makes the job…read morego faster. This means that instead of charging me by their stated hourly fee of $125 they charged me $250 per hour and then claim to finish it in less time. When questioned about their billing, they said that the billing time also included the time it takes for them to drive from a different job site. I would advise getting a quote ahead of time to avoid the surprise we got for a minor repair.

This place just keeps ripping me off! They charged $2500 for installation of 2 garage doors. They…read morecame by to look at my place, and told my contractor to do most of the install work, which of course he charged me for, too. Then they installed the doors, ran them once to show they were working, then disconnected the power lines and left. I had trouble reconnecting the power lines myself, so I called for technical support. I just wanted a phone consultation, but they sent 2 guys out without telling me. I asked the guys, and people at the office, if they'd charge me for this, and everyone I talked to said no, this was included in the original installation charge. They got both doors working again. Then they called me a few days later and wanted another $600 for the work. I didn't pay it. Now, one door opens, and the other doesn't work at all. I have to adjust the sensors. They didn't get it right. Obviously, I can't call for more help because I don't have several more hundred dollars lying around. The salesmen were very helpful and professional.

Short services sent over their crew to my house and they caused tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage to my house for a time and material job. Now after I have been patiently waiting 9 months for them to come back and fix it, Short services owners Dave and Becky are claiming they will charge me with harrasment and defamation because I didnt sign a contract. They are gaslighting me that Short services didnt do any work at my house. Way to make a bad situation worse. This company should not be in business.
