The IMSA event was super well organized--easy parking, clear signage, and friendly staff. Coming from the East Coast, the rolling terrain and elevation changes (hello Corkscrew) were awesome and made the racing extra exciting. The track and facilities were well kept, and the views were great. Definitely a fun, memorable weekend--worth the trip. read more

This track was great 25 years ago. However now a bunch of new rules have ruined it. 1. Your cars exhaust can't exceed certain decibels....uh what? Its a racetrack? Second your car has to pass emissions tests to be allowed in the track 3.your car cant be more than 15 years old. Theres a reason the stands are always empty. I attended the 2024 Monterey Grand Prix with three-day tickets. On the final day, Sunday, we were at the Firestone hospitality tent situated on a hill near the starting line. Although it was my first time at the track and I have limited comparisons, I had a great experience. The Firestone hospitality tent offered a great vantage point of the track, particularly the starting and finishing line. Located on the second floor of a building, it's equipped with an elevator and ample shaded seating. It's also right next to a gravel parking lot. Our group was treated to lunch, snacks, and a variety of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Golf cart shuttles were available to transport us anywhere within the venue. We ventured to the infamous corkscrew to watch the steep turns, which I highly recommend. You can choose between a short hike or take a golf cart shuttle up to the hill. There's a clean restroom and a couple of food trucks up there as well. read more

Came by for a private even the other day and it was a phenomenal experience. There was an employee prior to entering the facility to sign off on a waiver and parking was right in front of the facility due to our small group. Catering from the venue was decent and catering staff wore masks covering their mouth and nose along with blue gloves for safety. The track itself was clean and in great working condition. read more

Such a fabulous racetrack. Everything is kept so clean. Even the restrooms are clean And they have.numerous events throughout the year including the bike events, the auto racing,.the world motorcycle races, and more. .The track is kept very clean. Attended the 2021 Monterey Grand Prix. It was my first visit to the track and it was great to experience the race in person as opposed to TV. We had 3 day tickets for the Flag Room. The Flag Room is a tent located on a hill between turns 4 and 5. A great view entering and leaving turn 4 and entering turn 5. The Flag Room is equipped with inside and outdoor seating. Breakfast, lunch, snacks and refreshments are included. Golf cart shuttles are available to and from any location within the venue. A don't miss location is the corkscrew for some great driving action. read more

We went for the Superbike Speedfest in early July. (Sunday! Sunday! Sunday! Be there! Be there! Be there! You'll pay for the whole seat but you'll only need.... THE EDGE! Hahaha...) The event was well managed, with plenty of parking, food and drink and other vendors. Announcers were clear. Great bleacher seats abound. However, it was hot and there is pretty much no shade to escape. I am always good about wearing sunscreen but I missed an area near my collarbone and boy did I pay for that mistake. Be very careful and wear a large brimmed hat. Earplugs too, it can get loud. Last but not least, be prepared for a little bit of a hike back to your car. If they have the shaved ice vendor be sure to treat yourself to one. It's the best, most refreshing thing going and a great way to help stay hydrated in the sun. read more

Love this track in General. They have that famous corkscrew for you and 2.4 miles track later, quite fun for learning or to take your cars out to race or just enjoy the track. We attended the AMG Driving Academy with AMG Mercedes Benz. It was an amazing experience. Got to drive the track and got to ride with the professional race instructors, that was the best part! We got to drift and race with once another too. Beside the track, they have a small gift shop with everything WeatherTech Laguna Seca logo on it! There is a Bubba Burger restaurant there but it wasn't open when we were there! So not really much option for food and drink. Luckily, our AMG training class got catering food in for us breakfast and lunch. This track is not too far from Monterey and Carmel, so we did a StayCation before we visit here! read more

The track itself flows really well and I look forward to coming back again. The Corkscrew was cool, a nice downhill descent but honestly not as hard as it seems. The key is to take it easy on this corner as you don't want to mess up your bumper by missing your apexes when going too fast. Take it easy on Turn 6 too as I learned the hard way of tires getting upset when apexing it too early. There's no on site tire shop unlike Thunderhill so be prepared to bring spares. Track is also more intense on the gas tank and the Costco Gas Station is 20 min away so plan accordingly when refueling between sessions. Gas is available on track but it looked like the price was nearly $10 a gallon (although I couldn't read what octane it was)! Since I mostly use Yelp for the food, it's definitely not the best I've had at the track. That title still goes to Thunderhill Raceway. The burgers here are much smaller and the white bread buns aren't the greatest. The fries are skinny fries though so they're pretty decent. Given that a lot of restaurants are usually trash frozen fries now, these ones actually taste pretty decent. The pulled pork sandwich is big and stuffed with tons of pulled pork. Again, the sandwich roll they use for that is not the greatest - pretty chewy. Overall, it's perhaps my favorite track over Thunderhill but for food, Thunderhill still wins with its piping hot fries and nicely sized burger. read more

Came for the IndyCar race last week and had a blast. It was our first time here and we found the layout pretty intuitive. If you go to Indycar, please make sure to check out the paddock, especially right after practice sessions and the race because you can see the mechanics rolling the cars back into the garages and be just a few feet from these vehicles. We saw a few drivers but since it was race day they were not too available for photos or autographs, perhaps we'll try friday or saturday next year. We found that walking around the track during the race was out favorite way to watch in order to get a variety of angles. There is a small shaded area on the side of the hill next to the corkscrew thats perfect for watching cars rushing down the turn. Bring water, hiking shoes and sunscreen (lots of sunscreen). read more

World famous Laguna Seca with its cork screw at turn 8. Amazing track. There is a large paddock but no gift shop. Be warmed that there is a 90 FB sound limit and the sound station is near turns 6, I forget. Violate if 3 times & you are off the track for the weekend. So do it at the end of your Sunday if you have to. There is food but no seats and nothing is covered & can get windy so be prepared. read more

Nestled in the scenic hills of Monterey, the views are majestic and the weather really lends to some really pleasant track days. The race track is located on park/recreation land, thus with a permit camping is allowed. Garage rentals are available with reservations so plan accordingly if your visit is for a track event. Laguna Seca...the CBGB's of raceways. An iconic & storied venue, but a complete shite hole. Hear me out, I LOVE Laguna Seca, but from a spectator's perspective, it's like stepping back into 1957 when it was built. Basically they've not done any upgrades to the guest experience since then. And with that here are my Top Suggestions to make it a better fan experience: 1. WiFi: with cell service spotty at best, for the love of God, provide venue wifi! 2. Water: the one guest water fountain hasn't worked in years, presumably they've shut it off to sell more water...of which there are not enough vendors to accommodate on busy race weekends so you wait in long lines for just water. Yes we Americans love Capitalism, but you really need to provide FREE water options. 3. Video: Portable LED boards set up throughout the venue 4. Entry Line Mgmt: traffic control posted up at main entrance off Hwy 68...d'uh!! 5. Vendors: for some inexplicable reason, new mgmt has actually reduced the number of food vendors spread throughout the venue, line wait times are unacceptable. 6. Restrooms: new mgmt has also reduced the number of Port-O-Potties, yeah I'm looking at you start/finish straight 7. QR Codes: how about we put up some handy codes to race line ups, etc for guests? 8. Scoreboard: I'd just settle for a working scoreboard at this point, but how about we add some maybe one or two more? read more

Iconic, historic, world famous, Cork Screw! Yeah Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is one of those tracks that is etched into the motorsport world psyche and you can drive it! All of my experiences at MRLS have to do with HPDE events so I cannot speak to the high volume major events that occur here. What I can speak to is the quality of the facility and staff that run it, both of which are world class. Shout out to the corner workers, you ladies and gents are the best! On-site fuel available (Street and Race), there is a small gift/pro shop also on-site. Cruisin' Cafe makes good grub to keep your brain fed, I really enjoy the Teriyaki Chicken plate and BFast burritos. MRLS flows like no other track; when you get one of "Those Laps" you just feel it...perfect! Not a lot of run off so mistakes can bite or you may end up beached. Being Monterey, expect morning fog that burns off to warm weather but always be prepared for rain. Get a garage if available, money well spent! CU @ The Track! Cheers! read more

From Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion to Miata Reunion, from being a spectator at a track day to a driver on the track, rain or shine, WE LOVE LAGUNA SECA! It's such a great venue for Motorsport events and driving education. I wish Miata Reunion could still come back at some point. The parade lap was so much fun in Oct 2019 and we felt so lucky to be there. The elevation change at Corkscrew is dramatically when you walk down the track, which brings both challenge and excitement for drivers and passengers. Any gearhead has raced Laguna Seca a bajillion times by the time they hit 18.....in video games, that is. (If you actually raced it before you turned 18 -- are your parents adopting?) I finally got to experience Laguna Seca during Rennsport Reunion, aka the Porsche event to end all Porsche events. In one word: HEAVEN. The track is so much larger than you could possibly grasp from any pictures, videos, or games. I was absolutely gobsmacked by how massive it is. The facilities were great, everything was clean and well-organized, and getting the chance to stand in the corkscrew after alllllll these years....priceless! Can't wait to return. read more

We live at the track. They have great events for everyone to enjoy throughout the year. I love the clean bathrooms. It makes it a great place to spend the day at. Thanks to Miata Reunion, this event crosses off one of my bucket list HPDE tracks to drive. Given more time and money, I'll be back with some of my other cars... We came to the track for the races on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon. There's a cork screw turn and you're able to hike to the top of the hill and you can see that turn and a few other parts of the track -- such a great view. My husband and I happened to find this raceway on our way through Salinas to Carmel. My husband always knew about this place in his video games and was so surprised to find this track near Monterey/Carmel in the Central Coast. He couldn't believe it. It was great that we took a detour and went inside the raceway area (you have to go through a kiosk) to check it out. On 4th of July, the souvenir shop was not open but we were able to drive our way through the complex to see the race track + some of the cars parked in the rest areas. I'm sure it would have been more festive and more fun if an actual race was going on, but we didn't come at the right time. We wouldn't mind coming back again during a real event to see a live race in action. In the meantime, this lil' side trip to see the race track itself was pretty cool already. read more

For my 400th Yelp Review, I'm doing The world renown Laguna Seca Raceway! This was on my bucket list since I was a kid playing Gran Turismo on my playstation 1 driving the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak version with it's vibrant red color and huge rear wing that can properly put 2g's of downforce at 100mph. (run on sentence for sure) I can remember driving down the main straight, every single left and right turn. All the hills and even the corkscrew! As I grew older, I was able to actually drive on several tracks in the game in real life. Indianapolis Motorspeedway, Thunderhill, Sonoma Raceway, Buttonwillow, and Sebring International Speedway and now Laguna Seca. I came out most recently for the final Miata reunion in 2019 with my best friend. We parked our car on the paddock amongst hundreds maybe even thousands of other Miata's from all over the United States. We met people from different backgrounds, and talked about what we had in common; the love for driving. Vendors had a nice place to set up shop, and the paddock area was able to house the more elusive Spec Miata's when the hit the track. The track had it's volunteers and workers running the event, and it all ran very smoothly and safely. If there were and accident, all drivers were trained on what to do. Equipment was checked prior to getting on the track, making sure we all had helmets and proper fastening equipment. When I was finally on the track, I was able to hammer down and let my car have it's way with all the twisties, and straightaways. The corkscrew was as scary as I've heard it was, but once I figured it out, it's an absolute blast. The track and everything that supported it was well maintained. You know exactly where you need to be before you hit the track. Spectators has several bleachers to choose from to see whats going on. Overall; the track is very well maintained and can host so many people very easily. Spectators were kept safe, and drivers were kept safe as well. If you're a driver or car enthusiast, do yourself a favor, come to Laguna. See what you and you're car are capable of! read more

I have been on this track a few times with the BMWCCA. This recent visit, we encounter the whole range of micro climates, from high 60's sunshine, to fog, rain and low 50's winter. But, nothing stopped the driving......and was it fun! Great track to drive, very efficient track staff, and their cafe actually had edible food! Their facilities could use some updating, but that does not detracts from the track! BTW, there is also a park and trails here. read more

I got to drive on this world famous racetrack on October 26, 2019 through SpeedSF and FemPowered. This was such an incredible and exhilarating experience; I never thought I would have an opportunity to drive on this race track. Going down the famous corkcrew and driving through this track is definitely a unique experience in itself. If you're here for a track day even as pit crew I highly recommend that you get a ride along with a close friend. This is a really well-maintained race track and all the facilities are so clean. Speed SF and FemPowered did such an incredible job organizing this track day, and I would definitely come back to Laguna Seca with these groups. FemPowered, a group of track enthusiast ladies, partnered with SpeedSF to host an incredible track day for ladies who are interested in tracking their car. It's definitely one of the more expensive places to track your car but you'll have so much fun. I definitely will come back to the track. read more

Just visited for the Indy Car races this past weekend. I have been here before, but wanted to give a special shout out to the people working the gate and the ticket office. We purchased our tickets through Ticketmaster and for some reason they were having major issues. We weren't able to get to the screen that showed the barcode for our mobile tickets. And apparently we were not the only ones. The people at the gate were super helpful and worked with the main ticket office to get us sorted out. They let us in the track (so we didn't miss practice) and had us get to the ticket office so we could get printed tickets. The two ladies in the ticket office were on the phone with Ticketmaster and got us printed tickets in no time flat! That way we wouldn't have to go through the same mess on Race Day. The service was amazing and even though you could tell we weren't the first ones they had the problem with they never got frustrated and were super friendly. Also, the track is epic! So many great places to watch the race with so many different views. We love coming here! read more

First off, if you're new to this road-coarse track, I'll let you in on a secret: Sit on a high hill OUTSIDE of the fencing, if you want amazing views of this just-over-2-mile coarse. One big hill within the coarse, the rest is pretty much flat land. A few turns, and the straight-aways are great. A few points for passing - always the high point of racing events! Since this is NOT boring NASCAR, where they drive around an oval, the infield (the physical space inside the track) is much bigger. There are plenty of designated parking areas, workers were happy to assist. If you have to park farther out, look for areas with a pick-up spot close by. They have golf carts going back and forth, the entire race, to take you from your lot to the main entrance. Can't wait to come back!! read more

The corkscrew turn is worth witnessing in person especially for race fans. There's lots to do and see on race day, and parking is easy to get in and out of. They usually have veterans golf carts that will take you around for a donation. This cuts the walk if you get tired in the hot sun. Overall, a great track and way to spend the day. read more

We were on-site for our 30th consecutive year and this was our first real disappointment. It was a really warm and beautiful day and the announcements encouraged hydration and make sure to drink water. And yet: there was no water to be found ANYWHERE!!! They ran out of of water shortly after noon as we near as we could tell, and people were pretty desperate as the day wore on. How does a place like this run out of water??? Super disappointing and scary on a warm day! And a major disconnect between the public service announcements and the actual supply. Note to others: bring ALL of your own supplies! read more

In Yelp-speak, 5 stars = "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" When it comes to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, that's 1 Hell-of-an-understatement. Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is, in fact, the baddest ass racetrack in the entire U.S. Though I've only been to a handful of racetracks & only actually been on a couple (including, now, this 1 thanks to Skip Barber Racing School), I partially base my conclusion on the very telling selection of the baddest ass racing organization on the planet. Of all the different motorsports, what is the baddest ass racing on asphalt? NASCAR, IndyCar, Formula 1? Not even close. The baddest ass racing doesn't happen on 4 wheels, it happens on 2 wheels. Multiple drivers from each of those car racing organizations have commented in interviews that motorcycle racing is just plain insane. Of all motorcycle racing, Moto GP is universally recognized as King of the Hill, baddest of the baddest. So when Moto GP returned to the U.S. after not racing here at all for a decade, which racetrack did they pick? Oh yeah, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. With the Andretti Hairpin, the World-famous Corkscrew & a deceptively difficult Turn 11, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is 1 of the most technical racetracks on Earth. Personally, after coming here numerous times for Moto GP since its return & watching Nicky Hayden, Valentino Rossi, Dani Pedrosa & Casey Stoner carve it up, I always suspected that this is the baddest ass racetrack in the whole country. Now, having driven the track, with the throttle to the floor & the rev-limiter kicking in, with the back end sliding out just the right amount in the Andretti Hairpin & with the feeling of dropping off a cliff in the Corkscrew, I KNOW this is the baddest ass racetrack in the whole country. Usually a 5 star rating on Yelp means "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" But in the case of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, that 5 star rating means "most baddest ass ever!" read more
