My wife signed me up for Intro to Racing as an anniversary present. Yes, she is cool. The cars are hardcore. The course -- the real F1 deal with Laguna Seca's legendary "corkscrew" and all -- is even more so. It felt like driving a ski run at Aspen. Fast. I managed to spin out on turn 6 on my 3rd lap. No harm done, but definitely gives you an appreciation for what the pros are really doing out there at 100 MPH and scores of other cars on the road. The lecture hour is helpful, and after the track time I ended up wanting more class time (to ask questions now that I had some experience) followed of course by more track time. Insider tip for those like me who know nothing about racing: don't be scared to brake hard before the turns, even over-doing it so you are going quite slowly beforehand... which gives you tons of control and allows you to gun it once you're straightened out. I was coming from the video game school of racing, where you basically never use the brake - so anyhow, I think I would have been a lot faster had I been heavier on both brake and gas. In all, definitely one of those lifetime experiences I am not going to forget. And if I manage to stumble into money someday, I could see getting really into this (e.g., trying their 2 day class, etc.).

I have been driving 35 years and it was instructive to me (we all might benefit from a refresher!). Bobby was patient, calm but firm, and the course was well planned to slowly increase the driving difficulty and put the learner in different situations in a safe manner. Can't say enough. 10 stars out of 5.

Bill was very realistic and upfront at the start, that I would learn how to get feom point A to point B, but it might not be pretty! By the end of the lesson, I felt reasonably confident in my newfound skill. Bill gave me the Zen-like attitude and skills necessary to instantly recognize what was going on whenever the car did not respond as intended, and to take emotions out of the problem-solving process. These things can be so hard when you inevitably stall and anger other drivers---something everybody does when learning to drive a manual. A few weeks after my lesson, I ended up going on a fun drive through the European countryside to a destination not easily reachable by public transit. The guy at the rental counter, seeing I was American, tried to give me an automatic and I had to correct him. I did stall a few times, including while inching forward in highway traffic, and was able to stay cool and collected. As promised, I got from Point A to Point B! Someday, I want my next car to be something sporty with a stick shift. I am most impressed by the psychological skills Bill taught me in this context. These aren't skills I would have learned from simply asking a friend or parent to teach me. If I had teens, I would absolutely want Bill to teach them the driving skills that *will* save their life--a purpose he is passionate about from his previous job as a cop. Thanks Bill for teaching me a skill I will enjoy for years to come!

Bucket list birthday surprise delivered--spectacularly!…read more I surprised my wife with the One-Day Formula Racing Experience at Allen Berg Racing Schools at Laguna Seca--a lifelong dream of hers--and the entire day far exceeded both our expectations. From a spectator's point of view, the entire program was impressively organized, professional, and welcoming. The staff made us feel right at home, and it was clear from the start that we were in the hands of true pros. But the real highlight? Watching my wife absolutely light up out on the track. This wasn't some sanitized, watered-down driving experience. She was behind the wheel of a real open-wheel formula car, getting coached, pushing limits, and carving through the iconic Corkscrew like a natural. The instructors were outstanding--encouraging, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about helping each driver maximize their potential. It was thrilling to see her come off the track beaming with adrenaline and joy after each session. This wasn't just a driving school--it was a dream fulfilled. If you have someone in your life who's even remotely interested in motorsports, Allen Berg Racing Schools is the ultimate gift. We'll be talking about this experience for years.

The instructors(Issac, Jose and Jacob) were very positive, patient and knowledgeable. It's evident that they want to see you learn from their instruction and succeed. The one from Pacific Motorcycle Training was much better. The biggest negative of CCMT was their instructor (I won't name him). He was so rude. He gleefully mocked me for being slow in learning to habitually turn my head while turning the bike. On the other hand, I loved my instructor at PMT. He was extremely complementary about my riding skills. It is so much easier to learn in a positive environment than a negative one. The fee for the two courses were equal. The PMT course caused me to spend more on travel but it was way worth the additional cost. I grade the classroom portions of the two courses as : CCMT, a B ; PMT, an A+ .

Wasn't happy with this as I felt I got swindled, but I paid it. 2. My son didn't pass his first permit test so I had to cancel the behind the wheel that I had previously booked. I canceled right away in the DMV parking lot with 24 hour notice. They tried to charge me $189 for the cancellation! The reason I booked the lesson before him passing the test was because their availability is very poor. I didn't want my son to wait several weeks to get behind the wheel once he passed the test and the day after his test was their only availability for weeks, so I had to take it. I'm cancelling the 6 hour driving lessons and going with a local company down the street that has better availability and better customer service. I'm not giving this company any more of my money. I will update this review once the refund is processed.
