For those who don't like reading beyond the first line, the short version of my review is, get your windows from Weather Tite and you will be very happy.
The long version.
My wife and I have decades of experience working in engineering and medical professions, and we have won awards within our professions. We believe we know top quality work when we see it, and Weather Tite delivered exactly that throughout the entire process from sales to install.
Ross, our salesperson, spent hours answering our questions and providing us with an outstanding education on subtle, but very important, window options. I highly recommend you contact Weather Tite and sit with a member of their sales team prior to signing any contract for windows.
We live in a high rise building and other companies we interviewed said there was no need to use a swing stage; a platform lowered from the roof during the install. During our sales meeting, Ross contacted his install team leader, and he said it was probably possible to install the windows without the swing stage, however, Weather Tite would rather pass on the job if we did not pay the extra cost for the swing stage since that item was needed for a proper install.
We decided to pay the extra cost for the swing stage because all the companies we considered were supplying PGT windows and we felt the deciding factor should be the install process. If Weather Tite was willing to walk away from a contract due to the lack of a swing stage then they were probably the best installer we could hire. We were correct to hire Weather Tite. In addition to the usual city inspection, our community requires an independent engineer to review the install and sign documentation that the install is proper. I was home while the engineer visited and he was very impressed with the installation. Dan and Steve were our installers and they are true craftsmen. They installed two large sliding glass doors, one French door, three fixed pane windows and three sliding glass pane windows and one main entry door. All are installed perfectly.
Also, as of this writing, Weather Tite is a PGT diamond dealer which allows them to offer an excellent warranty via PGT, as well as glass options that may not be available to other PGT authorized contractors. You should check the PGT website for current information.
Speaking of warranty, Ron, our Weather Tite install manager, was on site at least once every day and when we found a small manufacturer issue with a window, Ron took charge and the replacement window is already ordered with no questions asked.
Finally, Weather Tite Mike, from the TV ads, was in the area and stopped by for a while. It was good to meet him, and he seemed to care very much about his reputation, his company and most importantly his customers. For those wondering... sadly, during this impromptu visit, he did not have cookies. You may have better luck if he visits your job site. read more
