As a homeowner spending a substantial amount of money, I expected clear answers, transparency, and professional communication. That has not been my experience. Before entering into a contract with Caroline Contractors, or any contractor, I strongly recommend doing your own research. Check county court record websites, review licensing information, compare pricing with resources such as Homewyse, and consider having an attorney review the contract before signing. Then each county inspection was called in for the very next day after each sub completed work. No gaps. I was extremely satisfied with the quality of work. Any little detail that I needed to be adjusted was taken care of promptly. The job started in December and was 100% complete in January. My job was a small one compared to the full size homes that Todd has built but it led me to conclude that if I was to build a large home, I would definitely contract with Todd Caroline to build it. A Purpose Construction hired us to do work on a project in Tampa. A new business opening. The GC…read morehired Andrew Mitchell or A Purpose and he hired us to do demo of a building and to saw cut a large trench inside the building to run pipe and wires underground. We did everything as specified according to plan and code. The GC paid A Purpose Construction for the completed work. He pocketed the money and stole the money he owed us. Telling us that he didn't get paid from the GC. Well of course we contacted the GC and he told us that he did pay and provided us with proof that it was paid and cashed by A Purpose Construction and Andrew Mitchell. After we confronted Andrew Mitchell he stopped communicating. Like a child that hides under the covers, thinking that if you can't see them the issue will just disappear. He also got a warranty call from the GC a few months later and told the GC that he was not going to honor the warranty and fix his crappy work. This is not about the money. This is about trying to keep other businesses and homeowners from being scammed by this con-man(if you can call him a man) Be warned!! He is scummy and shady. Hence his only comments on the BBB are negative. I'm not surprised. DO NOT USE A PURPOSE CONSTRUCTION!! DO NOTTRUST ANDREW MITCHELL!!
