Not only was he super nice and professional, but I appreciated the fact that he didn't try to sell me services I didn't need. He inspected my windows and said that they were actually in good shape - they just needed their cords to be replaced. I was able to schedule the work with him quickly and one of his staff came out and did a great job. Windows that haven't opened in who-knows-how-long are now completely operable! He even moved a window for us that is being relocated to a different part of the house. And I am so glad he suggested this - I am pretty sure that if one of our regular contractors tried to do this, the window would have been broken. And even better news - his rates are very reasonable! Laryn is the first person who hasn't tried to completely over-charge us for a restoration service, which I greatly appreciate. He clearly cares about historic homes and wants to do right by them and their owners. He is also extremely knowledgeable and was able to point out a few other things that we need to address. Working with Laryn was easy and delightful. He took care of our needs quickly and professionally and I couldn't be happier with the service he provided!

I have read the reviews on the Thermal Shield Lexington webpage. It is good that some people have…read morewonderful recommendations for this company. I, however, have an expensive and unfortunate experience and think this needs to be shared. We met the owners of Thermal Shield at the WSAZ Home and Garden Show at the Civic Center in Huntington, WV in March of 2025. We visited their display and talked with them. Here are the facts of our experience. We wanted to have our back porch enclosed as a sunroom. The owner came and completed an estimate for us on April 10, 2025. That signed work order stated that the project would be completed in 20 (twenty) weeks. That date would have been August 30, 2025. I am writing this on November 2, 2025. To date the work has not been started and no materials or supplies have been delivered. I paid a deposit of $11,000 (eleven thousand dollars). I have not had any proof that the supplies have even been ordered. After several weeks of hearing nothing about our project, I contacted the office and the owner by phone and text message. Only then did I get responses by text messages which gave vague excuses about delays and promises that still have not been fulfilled. I finally contacted the owner and stated that the work order had expired weeks ago and with no contact from them and no start on our project, I wanted a refund of the $11,000 deposit. I informed him that I would allow 30 days for the refund and if it was not received by November 1, 2025 that I would write this review. There has been no communication from the owner or anyone in their office and no attempt to resolve this problem. We have not received the refund. In my opinion, this is the most disrespectful and deceptive business I have ever dealt with. I am also now submitting a complaint with the Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney Generals Offices in West Virginia and also in Kentucky. This has been a very frustrating, expensive, and unnecessary experience with this company. The last thing that the owner said to me as he was leaving with the signed work order and our check was, "now don't cancel this project". I thought that was an unusual comment. I have not seen the owner since that day and that will soon be seven months ago. I am now of the opinion that what I have explained in this review was his intention all along. I do not recommend this business and will continue to inform people about how we have been treated. I am also contacting our attorney about legal action to at least make public how Thermal Shield has violated their contract with us. Gary Patton Huntington, West Virginia

In 2015 I had my back porch, which is essentially a sunroom without the windows. Just caulk under the porch and refreshing of the tape that goes over the seams on top. In 2015 this was less than $300. One person came out and was here less than two hours. As of this week, they have quoted the same job is now $1500!!! they claim inflation. Inflation does not warrant that they require two people to come out instead of one.. it makes no reason as to why two employees need 4 to 6 times longer than one person did to do it. They told me that they upcharge 70% on all of their materials.. !!! that is way beyond inflation. so they will deceive you and get you to give them $130 for a quote and then they will try to charge you five times the amount that it should be and refuse to give you a refund for the rip off quote. I'm sure you can tell by the other of you you should not do business with this company they will absolutely rip you off. Don't pay them for a quote because they are going to try to quote you an insane amount of money and you will not be able to get your money back. For wasting your time. Jimmy was the technician that came to my house. He came by himself. He said he didn't know anything about pricing. he obviously didn't know anything about estimating the time it would take to do the work either since he estimated it four or six times more than the last Champion employee it must be an incentive or some sort of compensation for the amount of money they can get out of you. It was not even a reasonable time he could've went to sleep and taken that much time.! especially because he was quoting two people which they say is now required and that two people would take 4 to 6 times longer than one person which is just no rhyme or reason it's just a rip off. the 70 percent of charge of all of their materials should definitely make you run away because you're gonna have to do maintenance on it eventually and this is what you have to look forward to. not a rip off on hourly rate, but the 70% up charge on the materials, and 4 to 6 times longer on the labor than should be required. Do yourself a favor and do not ever buy from this company. It has horrible feedback. Take that for what it is because it is horrible.
