I was ripped off by Dan - the other reviews here are true and I felt compelled to write as there seemed to be nothing online about this guy prior to 2025 which shocked me - but now I see I wasn't the only one who had their money stolen elaborately. Dan is a master talker, really convincing at his capabilities and promises, the same happened to me, I stupidly pre paid and his services ( snow and lawn) lacked - I had to baby sit him and eventually I got cameras around the property to monitor his progress. YES I actually had to do this because I'm always working.......you know, making an honest living to pay fools like this to rip us off. Dan's EXCUSES EVERY SINGLE WEEK - for every single thing was exhausting to navigate. In the end when I asked him to discontinue service, and wanted a refund on many months in advance pre payment for next seasons snow services, I was met with EXCUSE after excuse, constant arguments, ghosting, and EXTREME GASLIGHTING. I am pissed - you know in life you try to not poor experiences sour future experiences but my goodness this actually altered the way I deal with people now. No joke. Can you believe he doesn't work Sundays? God won't help you in the end Dan, you will truly pay the price when your time is up. TRUST ME, that's the truth. read more

This review is specifically about the snow removal service offered by dan and his crew. I am very disappointed and honestly think he may have gotten in over his head here. I pay for snow removal for my parents as I do not want them to fall and slip on their steep driveway. After the old company changed their rates I shopped around and found Dan's ad on kijiji. He offered a whole season rate and we came to agree on a contract that covered: "-Driveway, private walkways, and city sidewalk Unlimited snowfall coverage for anything over .5 cm to be completed within 24 hours of snowfall stopping. -Combination of icemelt and sand to be used during any freezing rain events -Icemelt used is only a premium product that is pet friendly, concrete safe, and vegetation safe. - Piling of snow to be placed in consideration of draining during thaw cycle Any debris left on sidewalks will be cleaned during basic spring cleanup Price to include any icemelt and sand needed during the course of services." As he was a new contractor for me we agreed that I would pay in installments over the season as the work was done. When we had the big freezing rain spells he did ask for one of the payments to be advanced due to extra cost of ice melt which I agreed to. Initially everything was great, they would make it out and send pictures which was a relief to see that my parents walks were cleared. As the season wore on and I had paid him his full amount, the service was lacking. Snow would often sit for days and I would have my parents message me asking when the guys were coming. I would have to reach out to Dan to let him know when snow fell because he didn't want to continually check on the properties in case there was snowfall, claiming that because some of his personal properties hadn't got much snow, the others probably hadn't either, which was often wrong. They would often do the work later in the evening, which while to the letter of the contract's 24h clause was fine, but wouldn't clean up any snow that was packed down due them their later arrival times post snowfall. I understand that when big snowfalls happen it can delay times, but the work was not completed to the standard you would hope for. All of this was "fine" with me until the last couple days. We received a large snowfall last Thursday, and despite repeated messages he still as of Monday has not gone to clear the snow or replied to any of my concerns. He had also previously stopped sending pictures consistently but would still show up to do the work. Dan is a poor communicator who offered a service that his company performed at a below average to poor level who's lack of professionalism over this final issue will stop me from ever using his services again. When they showed up, they usually did adequate work, but it always felt like I was hassling him to perform the job he posted about and that I contacted and paid him to do and I would not recommend anyone use him for snow removal. read more

Very very disappointing. The owners of which, DID NOT give subcontractors the right equipment to get the job done. And further more punished them without pay for jobs after 72+ hours of hard labour. Would NOT work for nor hire for Jobs. Unprofessional. No response for days on end. Let alone never have met or see DAN THE HANDYMAN, as his reasoning is he is always SICK. read more
