I do not normally post reviews, but after seeing some negative reviews I needed to respond. I had 3 large trees that needed to be removed and being an owner and general experienced chainsaw operator I considered doing the job myself. Gerry and Team showed up to my house with 3 trucks (wood chipper, basket truck and dump truck for large stumps), total professionals about 6 or 7 guys. These guys opoerated like Navy Seals and had the job done within 40 minutes with zero debris or evidence they were present. I was so impressed I was at a loss of words. They only accepted cash or e transfer, which I get may deter some people, but I happily transfered 20 minutes after they left my property. This company is the real deal and I highly recommend. I just noticed today my neighbor had hired them to remove trees based on word of mouth and witnessing their service levels. My advice to Gerry is, when providing your quote please explain to your customer that upon completion your guys will be giving the full court press of requesting payment. Usually the market accepts a 30 day cycle, but I agree I was a bit put off by the demand of immediate payment. read more

Horrible customer service. Had a tree removed while I was away, July 3, 2023, on holidays. This was mentioned to Gerry and his wife when she called me. I was called and texted twice saying to pay now. Still within 24 hours of them cutting my tree down, I was threatened that they would come to my house and drop 10 loads of mulch on my lawn as they don't play games. Now I would enjoy to inspect the service they provided before paying. To think I would pay before inspection is a joke and to threaten a customer the next day after the service was completed is even worse. I still paid on July 4, 2023. Demanding payment while I am on vacation and less then 24 hours after the job was done is not fair nor normal. They did receive their money within 28 hour of the job being completed and apologized a few times but then in the morning after I paid, I received another text from them saying they hope karma would get me back. I think its the Wife and Husband who keep replying over each other and its like Dr Jeckyll and Mr. Hide. I recommend Got Stump any day as their customer service and price are top notch. read more

We hired Gerry to remove a very large tree from our rental property's front yard about a month ago. We received a quote that was competitive and cheaper than other businesses, so of course, we chose to hire Gerry based off his quote, and because he was recommended to us by friends. Gerry's crew worked very hard to remove the tree, and did so quickly and efficiently. When the crew came to our door to ask for payment during the middle of the job, I thought it was weird, but didn't really think much of it. After I paid with cash in full, half of them packed up and drove off, leaving a team of two guys to clean up the entire mess of the tree in my front yard. I went outside to check the progress out, only to see a huge 5 ft tall by 9 ft long pile of mulch, branches, and pinecones covering my lawn. The logs were strewn across my lawn and my neighbours. I called Gerry the next day, only to have my calls and messages ignored. Over 7 days went by before I finally got a hold of Gerry, and our conversation is the reasoning behind this one star review. Gerry began by cutting me off while I was speaking. He didn't own any of it, and said his guys couldn't be expected to clean up that big of a tree for the price he quoted me. He went on to say his guys were working way too long, and that he didn't make any money off of me that day anyway. Gerry went on to say that If I wanted my yard cleaned up I would need to wait 4 weeks for him to schedule me in. He said he never had anyone call to complain about a mess being left before and couldn't believe I was calling about "a little bit of mulch". It took 6 family members, 3 weeks, and over 45 garbage bags filled with debris to clean my front yard. Extremely dissatisfied with Gerry's unprofessional conduct. Yeah cheap and you get what you pay for. They took the tree out but failed to follow instructions that were specifically written out for them and agreed to prior to cutting it down. No objections were given to those instructions but later claimed they couldn't do it as was discussed. Second and more importantly. They left (we could be home for the second day*) the property completely unprotected for several hours once they left. The property is fully gated and like most areas of the city, there are thieves looking for opportunities. The back gate was jammed open and left that way for 4 hours. Fortunately our dog is well behaved and didn't leave the property. We got lucky and there were no break ins. Had either happened, I would be talking to a lawyer right now. When asked about these failures the following day, they blamed it one other factors that were not relevant. (The wind blew the gate open - interesting since it was jammed open with a piece of wood and the wind has never blown the gate open in living here for 8 years). When a service provider makes mistakes, they need to OWN it. These guys didn't and basically hung up when I called to discuss. Would never recommend them to anyone. Furious with how we we treated after talking to them to discus the above issues. had they owed the mistakes, I would not have written this review. *The tree was supposed to be taken out in one day but they left around noon. I took the day off to be there but could take the second day off that was unscheduled. read more
