Not only did the doctor rush through my almost 80 year old relative's appointment and argue about…read morehis refills, he and his staff insisted we pay for his labs in their office, even though we were getting them done at a labcorp located elsewhere. One of the staff even said labcorp did not accept cash paying patients. We paid there as demanded then went to labcorp only to be told that labcorp does actually accept cash patients and in fact the actual price of the labs was about $30 cheaper than we had been charged. I called to confront them and got no apology whatsoever. Just an argumentative attitude and was told we could come back for a refund. We weren't going to bother going back but the defiance and lack of apology made us go back to get our refund and even then the two women at the front remained defiant and unapologetic when they know they had blatantly lied to us to collect more from us. We already decided leaving that day that was the last time we were going back. The appointment was super rushed and the doctor didn't even do basic things like listen to heart/lung sounds or inquire about my relative's chronic condition. They only cared about trying to get him to pay for a flu shot. They had been decent in the past but they've become money grabbers recently and patients deserve better care and not being lied to. If an error is made, an apology should be forthcoming. That's simple basic courtesy. Now I understand why there's hardly ever anyone there unlike most doctor's offices.

I was a social worker at a nursing home, and he was our attending MD trying to start his own practice. I've sent many referrals to him. Over the past 8 years, his practice has grown substantially. He's been generally responsive to my needs, but has used NP's more and more in his practice. In the past few visits, I've waited longer and longer and no longer see him even when I make an appointment with him. His NP isn't rude, but not very receptive to conversation. His practice has gotten too big for his britches.

My entire family have been patients of Dr Mitzi Rubin for probably more than 10 years now, we…read morefollowed her from Kennesaw to Wellstar at East Cobb. I've never encountered another physician who really takes the time to listen and engage with us like Dr Rubin does. She's extremely compassionate, caring and competent. She has referred us to several specialists along the way and we have been happy with each of those. She helped us through an episode of depression with my son, and issues with my visiting mother who's health concerns were complicated by dementia. Young or old you feel like you are the only person that matters when you are with her during and after an exam.

I started seeing her years ago at Kennesaw Family Physicians. It's purely by luck that I found her. She recently split from them and formed WellStar Family Medicine as an independent practitioner. Her new office is small, seemingly by design, and personally, I LOVE it! I hate to feel like I am being shuffled about through office staff, nurses, and a doctor who only has 5 minutes to see me. All of the staff I encountered here are very friendly, courteous and seem to enjoy their work. It's so refreshing when people are genuinely friendly and caring, especially in the medical field when you're one in thousands. Her new office has all the latest equipment and technology (PCs in the exam rooms and no paper charts!). I have always found Dr. Rubin to be extremely friendly and personable, as well as knowledgable. She is a fantastic listener, and is never dismissive of any of my health concerns. I sincerely hope her new practice is a success, as I can't see myself going anywhere else.
