And let's be real, it had everything to do with discrimination. Whether it was my ankle monitor, my insurance status, or something else--y'all made a conscious decision to treat me like I was less than. Let's talk about Mr. Deep for a second. I asked him point-blank: "Do you think this has anything to do with a Baker's cyst? I've had them 3-4 times before, but it never spread into my calf." He looked me in the face and said, "No." Guess what? It was a Baker's cyst. So, either he didn't know what he was talking about, or he just didn't care. Meanwhile, I was in excruciating pain and just needed something--whether it was the meloxicam (which wasn't available until Monday morning) or ANYTHING to get some relief. Instead, I had to go to another doctor, who actually helped me by prescribing prednisone, which finally gave me some relief. And let's talk about the lies. Y'all told me Dr. Potts doesn't do knee replacements. If that's true, fix his online info because that's false advertising. You told me you called in my meloxicam, but guess what? You waited THREE DAYS to do it. Why? Now, you're trying to get rid of me after I've been seeing Dr. Potts for 2.5 years? What did I do to deserve this? I've had conversations with him about growing up around Jimmy Andrews, about vacationing and duck hunting with them. And now y'all want to treat me like I don't matter? And another thing--Mr. Deep had the nerve to pull up my X-rays and tell me my knee isn't quite "bone on bone," so I shouldn't be in this much pain. Excuse me?? He straight-up said their patients either just deal with the pain or get surgery. What kind of nonsense is that? Let me be very clear: I wasn't looking for pain meds. I don't even take them. I was in agony and could barely walk for a week. I saw y'all once, then my girlfriend insisted I get help, and THIS is what I got? Dr. Koffler is what every doctor should be: an excellent surgeon, great personality and honest…read more I've had both knees repaired for torn miniscus (2 tears on one) and within a year I could do deep knee bends with NO pain and better mobility than I've had in years. He advised against having bunion surgery or, in the years ahead, knee replacement before using other options. He showed me pictures of the inside of my knee taken during surgery, explaining what was done and the minor arthritis I have in one knee which need not be treated. I have absolutely no scars! He also treated me for a Jones fracture with great success (although he took away the crutches I came in on and adjusted the 'boot" so I could take weight on it, saying it was dangerous for a woman in her 50s to use crutches - but said it so you laughed). He also did knee surgery on my husband, also great results. He has his own practice so it's always Dr. Koffler that you see; I like knowing I'll always receive the highest quality advice/treatment.
