Initially good dealings when car was bought but very soon after purchase the rear brakes were found to be metal to metal causing an obviously horrendous noise & reduced braking capacity. A patronising phone call to wd motors suggested that there may have been a stone in between the pad & disc, or that the brakes would be noisy on start up in a morning because of overnight corrosion..! I was unable to take up their offer of having them check the brakes at the time due to the distance from home, noise the brakes were emitting and significantly reduced braking performance which meant driving the car any distance was dangerous. Of note; WD declined to inspect the replaced parts when I later took the car to them for inspection which would have provided them the opportunity to validate their frankly ludicrous and insulting claims. A further health check with another garage revealed several other problems, including queries as to the validity of the the MOT, service completed prior to sale and an intermittent fault with the cooling fan which was not functioning correctly. wd motors did offer, and provided the opportunity, to discuss this in person, after some evident reluctance, but again disputed all faults identified by the other garage. Particular feelings of being intimidated and patronised at this time by a particular member of staff, who was very defensive, dismissive and mocked my concerns about my safety of the vehicle. Begrudgingly appreciated the gesture of them offering a visual check over of the car with buyer, however, still did not leave with confidence that this car is in the best health for its spec of sale. It was suggested that I should expect such faults in a car of its age yet at point of sale the car was sold as faultless despite its age. I'm glad for a previous reviewer who praises wd for claims they fixed a nail in his tyre after their purchase, yet question why, when wd claim to be a 'reputable' company, I am left feeling frustrated and unsatisfied with my genuine concerns and grievances which remain unresolved. They may be hearing from VOSA soon. read more
