Listen up, people. The Word is on your radio dial located at 880 AM. This station is legendary…read more It's one of the oldest, longest running radio stations in all of Ohio. Wherever you are in Ohio, chances are you'll be able to pick up The Word. This frequency reaches 80 of our state's 88 counties. Not bad, huh. Unfortunately, though, due to FCC regulations, WRFD has to discontinue their daily broadcast at dusk, because it interferes with WABC out of New York City. Wow! Now that's some reach! I'd much rather hear the programming on WRFD than the news and traffic out of the Big Apple! WRFD is one of the last stations in the Columbus market to offer the Word of God in an exclusive "Talk Only" format, i.e., without any music. Their schedule includes some of the best preachers and radio hosts in the country like James Dobson, Charles Stanley, Chuck Swindoll and John MacArthur. WRFD also features some of the best local Christian leaders. During your afternoon drive, you'll hear "Bob Burney Live". Bob is an award-winning local talk show host who never minces the truth as it relates to current events. On the weekends, you'll hear local hosts share their expertise in a myriad of professions from finances to medicine. One thing is for sure - you won't find any charlatans on this frequency. You will hear The Word as it was meant to be heard - honestly and humbly. For a breath of fresh air and the whole truth in a media world mired by deceit, tune into 880 AM today. You will be enriched.

I loved 103.5 when it was a smooth jazz format. I got tired of switching my radio dial and hearing…read morethe same songs over and over again, so it was very refreshing to land upon a station that not only played classical jazz, but also featured a bevy of new artists. The Harmonic Lounge was the highlight of my week. Then I tuned in to 103.5 yesterday, and thought I plugged in the wrong numbers. 1980s-era music was coming through my car radio. I then discovered that 103.5 had changed their name to "Rewind" and switched the format to pop tunes. Well.... Rewind is an appropriate term for rehashing music from two decades ago (Don't get me wrong, there are some songs from the '80s that I love, but I can hear them on many other stations). The station no longer stands out, but sounds like a lot of the other FM stations in Columbus. It lost its unique identity. 103.5 is now wallpaper for the masses and no longer a preset on my Bose.

Other stations in Central Ohio used to combine biblical teaching with worship music, but that format left our airwaves years ago until recently when WHKC fired up its signal in 2007. You'll hear some of your favorite contemporary songs, even a few from the '80s and '90s which cannot be heard anywhere else. In addition, you'll hear some of my favorite Bible teachers like Ravi Zacharias and David Jeremiah. Tune in to 91.5FM and hear the message that will fill your heart, mind and soul with the Love of God. You can't pay for this! It's awesome!

They play sports, take trips, compete in scavenger hunts, participate in walk-a-thons...etc. Or in my case if you like free drinks and a night out to meet other c-bus socialites join the club!

And yes, I do sing along with the songs too .... guilty as charged!! LOL!

Now THIS is Radio!…read more Originally a "progressive" talk radio format, WYTS has made the profitable move from the political "left" to the political "right". No more Al Franken and "Air America" here - thank God & good riddance! Since this transition, WYTS has added one of the greatest talk show hosts in America to the Columbus airwaves - Michael Savage. I used to listen to The Savage Nation when I worked up in the Akron market and was hoping for the day when this show would air in Columbus. That day has finally come! You can listen to Michael from 6-10pm. So shut off your TVs and tune in tonight! If you think Rush Limbaugh is radical, wait 'til you hear Mr. Savage! Another WYTS winning lineup is the Quinn & Rose Show which airs daily from 6-9am. Jim Quinn is quite simply a political genius and Rose is smart and sassy just the way I like my women! You'll love this show if you're seeking the truth about our political landscape. Another favorite of mine is Laura Ingraham. This lady is my kind of feminist! She knows what she's talking about. Her show airs daily from 9am-12pm. You'll also see her on FOX NEWS quite frequently. I'm not a huge Bill O'Reilly fan. He's too much of a liberal for me. Jim Rome (who covers sports) is harmless yet annoying. Dave Ramsey is a good egg. He provides the expertise needed today for America's personal financial issues. I don't listen to Bohannon much, but when I do, I'm entertained. Don't forget Cigar Dave on the weekends. He knows his stogies! 1230AM is the place for good, solid, intelligent talk radio. Listen up - you will learn something!

They give young talent an opportunity to gain experience by offering one position as the CW star each year. They're at almost every good-cause event in the city. They offer perks to viewers through a slurry of contests. And their brand is recognizable - how can you think of anything other than the CW when you see chartreuse?
