Waypoint was the perfect solo escape! The location couldn't be better--right in the heart of Berryville, making a walk into town both easy and scenic. I stayed in the Shore Room, and it was full of delightful surprises. Heated beds? I didn't even know I needed one until now--such a cozy touch! We recently had a lovely stay at Waypoint House! The property is lovingly maintained and very comfortably set up. There are thoughtful touches throughout and a lovely backyard to enjoy in good weather. Our hosts could not have been nicer or more thoughtful. I am glad I found this modern and warm B and B. The plus was it was pet friendly and we took our mini Labradoodle with us. We spent Halloween weekend from Friday to Sunday. The room was spacious enough and with plenty of natural lighting with the bathroom down the hallway. We chose our breakfast time and ate at the dining area. Rachel was sweet to get us some brownies Sat night while I caught up on some work. The bed was very comfortable and having a heated mattress was awesome! The experience was awesome with lots of wineries and breweries close by. It was a lovely stay we will be back in the future!!! read more

Rachael and Jonathan are some of the best hosts you'll encounter at this charming, cozy, and relaxing little B&B. What an escape it afforded my wife and I and our sheltie! We enjoyed the Home & Hearth room and all its beauty, charm, and loving little appointments enormously, and the breakfast the next morning was gourmet and so delicious! Rachael accommodated my wife's food allergies perfectly without even batting an eye, and both hosts went out of their way throughout our stay to make sure we were comfortable and welcomed. I even loved the sign greeting us (and Talia) upon arrival. And what a great location in Berryville, such a beautiful escape from the hectic and rapidly changing feel of D.C.! Rachael and Jonathan Worsley are the superb hosts. This is our second time staying with them at Waypoint House and we can't wait for the next! First, the booking process is very simple. They have three great rooms to choose from - each with their own perks. (And you are given an old school skeleton key to lock your door.) All three rooms are on the second floor so there's a nice separation from the living and dining rooms. Each room has everything you need - typical toiletries (all carefully curated from local sources when possible), plenty of fluffy towels, and even wine glasses. The living room is stocked with board games, just in case you are staying in for the day. This trip, we brought our dog AND cat. Both stay with no additional charges. Just have to give them a heads up you want to bring pets and it has never been a problem for us. Rachael and Jonathan just LOVE animals. This shows upon your arrival: brownies for the humans, cat treats for the kitty, and HOMEMADE dog treats for the pup. YES - homemade dog treats. How wonderful is that? Their backyard is a MUST SEE! It's large and plenty of space to relax. There's a deck out back that is lit up at night - simply beautiful! There is a lot of space for your dog to run around (fully fenced in). But I have saved the best for last. Rachael's cooking and baking is simply AMAZING. I'm a total foodie and she's legit. Her homemade blueberry muffins, cinnamon chip scones, and more are just delectible. One morning we had lemon crepes with a mixed berry compote and another morning we had a bacon hash with poached eggs. Oh, and a blueberry cobbler. All made with homegrown or local ingredients when possible. Stupid me - can't forget the coffee, which comes from a local roaster across the street. Also, there's some quick grab snacks in the kitchen, along with a mini fridge stocked with water and soda. *WHEW* Rachael is always willing to bend over backwards for your meals. Sometimes we were on the go early and didn't want a big meal, so she would pack up some muffins or scones for us to take on the road. I just cannot recommend the Waypoint House enough. Rachael and Jonathan have basically thought of everything. (And I know I'm leaving things out like the convenient towels by the door to wipe your dog's paws to the small store in the hallway with local finds like soaps and more.) THIS IS A DESTINATION - and you can totally make a weekend out of a visit to Berryville. Tons of wineries in the area, river activities, cute storefronts, and MORE. We stayed at Waypoint for a night on our way to visit my sister in NC. We were so warmly welcomed and felt so comfortable there that we will definitely be back! Rachel's cooking is delectable: yummy scrambled egg tostados, tropical smoothie, and a welcome treat of chocolate cake and homemade biscuits for our dog. My husband and I had the pleasure to stay here this past weekend. We highly recommend it for anyone who wants to get away from the DC metro area, but doesn't want to spend a lot of time driving. Rachel and Jonathan are wonderful people, and Rachel made the most delicious breakfasts. The room was immaculate and beautifully decorated. Actually the whole house is beautiful--contempory but homey at the same time. It was such a nice touch to pull up and see a chalkboard on the porch that said "Welcome Diana and Kevin". I just spent the Memorial Day weekend here with my wife for our 15 year anniversary. Our experience was INCREDIBLE. The host was born to do what she does. Her breakfast is professional grade without question. Each breakfast deserved it's own blog!! Our room was so welcoming, clean, fresh, quaint, and came with all the modern amenities. The back yard area was an incredible addition to the home and my favorite part as there was a wonderful covered porch to sit and relax. Berryville was a perfect location as it is so close to the wineries, trails, rivers, and shopping/restaurants in various towns nearby and berryville. And the breakfast!! As I type this my wife and I are heading back for our third visit to the waypoint. Rooms are great, Rachel and Jonathan are hospitable and nice, and just overall a great place to stay. We usually stay in the big suite with a hot tub but decided to downsize to middle sized room but to stay two nights instead of one. Plenty to do in the area. Definitely suggest going to custom furniture store around the corner "Hip and Humble" truly unique stuff that's fun to look at even if you aren't in the market for furniture. My wife and I love to stay at B and B's. We love to pair a visit with some wine tastings and a great dinner. We've had some great visits, and we've had some awful trips. Visiting the Waypoint House was like catching lightning in a bottle. The house was gorgeous, the room was spacious and modern, but cozy and comfortable at the same time. As an added bonus, the host and hostess were awesome. They went over and beyond what we could have expected at every turn. We stayed during a fluke snowstorm. They had towels ready for our dog's paws when we arrived; they cleared the driveway and a space for our dog to walk; the breakfast was AMAZING. We even spent a night by the fire in the parlor sharing some drinks and stories, and came away feeling less like guests and more like old friends catching up. Berryville is a perfect little town, and the wineries in the area could take a week to experience. Staying at the Waypoint House only made our visit more enjoyable. read more

We recently stayed at the Waypoint House for a weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle of the Philadelphia metro area. Upon our arrival on Saturday night, we were welcomed with a beautiful chalkboard welcoming my husband, me AND our Golden Retriever, Abbey! We were drawn to this particular B&B because they allow dogs. When Rachel took us to our room (the Shore Room - BEAUTIFUL), there were treats for humans and for our pup. We were blown away at her thoughtfulness. We got an energizing nights sleep on a very comfortable bed and sat outside in the beautiful backyard until breakfast was ready. We had two amazing breakfasts - hopefully you get to enjoy the French toast...yum! Nestled in the sleepy town of Berryville, this B&B was a gem of a find. My wife and I typically stay at bed and breakfasts when we travel, and this was one of the most inviting and comfortable experiences we have had. The house feels very cozy and intimate and the innkeepers and other guests were very friendly and enjoyable to talk with. Breakfast featured the most delicious soufflé and homemade chocolate scones that were melt-in-your-mouth good. The room itself was very comfortable and many of the historic features have been beautifully preserved. My wife and I recently stayed at the Waypoint House B&B to celebrate our 5th Anniversary. Rachael and Jonathan have a beautiful old house in Berryville that we really enjoyed. The room was spacious and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Rachael is a fantastic chef, and cooked some delicious breakfasts made with local ingredients. The highlight was the homemade pumpkin waffles with apple cinnamon butter and pork sausage, that was ground that morning. They are very personable and gracious hosts, and treated us like a part of their family. We will definitely visit them again in the future. read more

We stayed in the Shore Room during the beginning of April and had a wonderful experience. Rachel was incredibly attentive and made sure we were very comfortable. Very clean and relaxing color scheme! The B&B is stocked with a mini fridge full of beverages that are up for grabs, and there is a little basket with various granola bars and chocolates as well. Finding delicious brownies and strawberries in our room upon checking in was also a plus! The breakfast was on the sweeter side, with fruits, yogurt, and Nutella-stuffed French toast topped with strawberries, BUT Rachel had checked in with us the previous evening in regards to our meal preference. We had decided to let Rachel at it, but I'm positive that if we had had a preference she would have accommodated us without issue. We might have to check out the Traveler's Retreat room next time because that jacuzzi looked AMAZING. read more

Incredibly clean, nicely decorated; the hosts were inviting and helpful without being obtrusive. The landscaping was incredible and our breakfast was great, too. We stayed in the Hearth and Home room. Having a private bath in the hall, instead of en suite, was no big deal. I was happy with choosing a hall bath and larger room, instead of a smaller room with an en suite. We brought our two dogs, and we all had a comfortable stay. read more

I stayed at the Waypoint House recently with my girlfriend, and I can't say enough good things about Rachel and Jonathan (owners). First, it was a last minute decision with a dog, and they were able to accomodate us that day. We were greeted with a custom sign and a friendly face in Rachel. She sent us an intro video which was like a virtual tour to get us acclimated while staying safe. The whole B&B was clean and attractive. We were so comfortable there. Breakfast was so delicious and was freshly made! Rachel is a great chef. We had a dietary restriction, and Rachel tailored our breakfasts to that which was so kind. She gave us recommendations for things to do in the area, and the Berryville area really is a quaint, attractive location. There are wineries, historic civil war battlefields, hikes, Virginia state arboretum, etc. There are things we didn't get to do in a single weekend and would definitely come back! Rachael and Jonathan were gracious hosts as I celebrated my daughter's wedding. We reserved the whole house, had people going in and out, including very late noisy hours, allowing us to convert her parlor into a gathering place for stylists for the bridal party, provided a delicious luncheon for all the women, and allowed us to make many last minute adjustments to our plans. Totally comfortable, delightful, accommodating, and wonderful. The best thing I did in all of our convoluted wedding arrangements from out of town.
