THIS is worth $13.99! I kid you not this is how it came once opened. 5-6 shrimp & a whole lot of rice.

Love coming here for their house special fried rice. But now they went up on their prices & the proportions got smaller. If I would've known this, I would've went elsewhere. It was good while it lasted.

Wayne's Wok has been a staple in the community of over 32 years. I have been coming here for The last 20 years. Since 2020 The service and food quality has greatly declined. The service was horrible. The food is served in to go containers even though we choose to eat inside. It was paperplates and papercups with plastic utensils. I had asks for water and napkins. The food quality was absolutely disgusting. The food tasted like it was spoiled and overcooked. I would not recommend this place or be returning here again.

    Orange Chicken over steamed rice

What if I told you this place has the best orange chicken in town?? I've been going to Wayne's Wok for years. Its not a flashy establishment. Its figuratively what people call a hole in the wall and telling by how long they've been up and running.. Its working for them. I discovered this place when I was a kiddo and my dad used to bring to-go plates home from work. specifically the orange chicken! I've been to a good share of Chinese restaurants and I think its fair to say that every business has their own way of making their food. Out of them all.. I can easily say that Wayne's Wok has the best orange chicken! I get it over steamed rice and their servings sizes are huge. Shareable to say the least. It comes with a few pieces of broccoli because "health" LOL. The chicken is crispy and the sauce is on point! Not drenched in sauce but not dry, just perfect. Another banger here is their crispy pepper (JUMBO) shrimp and asparagus. comes mixed with jalapenos and is an explosion of deep fried flavors.

Still the best shrimp fried rice. Wish I could find another place as good as this one, but I can't!

First time experiencing the menu outside of Dim Sum. Here are my notes:…read more Special Fried Rice in Claypot - Refreshing fried rice due to the addition of the cilantro. You can taste the umami from the roe and other ingredients that I am not entirely sure are but taste familiar. I enjoyed and loved it. Mapo Tofu - Firm Tofu and good sauce. Although I do enjoy more of a Sichuan-style spicy mapo tofu (with the very numbing taste), I still found this mapo tofu delicious as you can taste the flavor of the pork and sauce coating the tofu. 2 Entree BBQ Platter: Roast Duck and Empress chicken - I'm biased towards roast duck. I love roast duck so any roast duck is good to me. Not a lot of comment on the duck. However, the Empress Chicken is nicely seasoned with the whatever broth they cooked it in. One of the few Empress Chickens where I can enjoy it without the scallion-ginger oil, but the scallion-ginger oil still elevates this Chicken to a higher level. Congee with Pork and Preserved Egg - Comforting and triggers a lot of nostalgic feelings for me. I didn't have to add too much additional soy sauce or chili sauce because the congee has a great base flavor. Preserved egg and pork weren't too chunky, rice was not too "mushy", and the overall congee was in a good thickness to create a nice mouth feel for each bite. Will visit again to try the other dishes.

Drinks aren't rated, as they don't sell house cocktails (though they sell a small selection of beers and wines). All-in-all a solid menu. The dilemma is that we generally felt unwelcome. We came by on a Sunday evening at 6:30 pm (and paid and left by 8:20 pm which is 10 minutes before closing). We were a party of 8 with diverse backgrounds, and with exception to one server (a woman wearing red who was maybe a manager), the staff just weren't friendly toward us. I will say that one woman in red was so kind. She made sure to say "bye" as we left. I will add one of my friends mistakenly tried to take a pair of chopsticks (as they are set on the table in a paper slip). She didn't realize they were store owned/reusable vs throwaway. She quickly apologized, but that became the final straw of awkwardness with the staff. The food was genuinely great with appropriate prices, so I may give it another shot down the road as a date night option.

A great spot for a solid Chinese meal--and surprisingly, an amazing banana cream pie!…read more The service was friendly overall, although our table wasn't checked on very often since it was so busy. That said, the food more than made up for it. Our favorite dish by far was the Spicy Calamari with Basil. It's something I'd absolutely come back for--the calamari was tender with a great texture, and the sweet, savory flavors paired perfectly with everything else we ordered. The Garlic Chili Green Beans were another standout. They had great flavor and still retained a nice crunch instead of being overly soft, giving them the perfect stir-fried texture. The Vegetable Chow Fun (with beef added) was decent but a little dry for my taste, so it's probably not something I'd order again. By the end of the meal we were completely stuffed, but we couldn't resist trying the banana cream pie. It looked huge when it arrived, and we honestly didn't think we'd finish it--but it was so delicious that we ended up eating the whole thing. Definitely don't skip dessert! I also appreciated that when I asked for hot sauce, they brought out several different options to try, including what seemed like a garlic chili sauce, chili crisp, hot mustard, and sweet and sour sauce. It was a fun touch that let us customize each bite. The restaurant also has a lot of history and character. We walked in casually without realizing it was a more upscale sit-down restaurant, but it ended up being one of the highlights of our day. If you go, the Spicy Calamari with Basil and the banana cream pie are absolute must-orders!

My goal is to come here during dine downtown week in January to try that menu since I hear it's worth it. For parking, it's either street parking or you can do valet parking in the garage right next door. There is no self parking in the garage. Street parking is self parking. The restaurant itself is like a long, large hallway. When you walk in, your greeted by the host desk. Then you walk towards the back and pass a bunch of booths, tables and the bar area to the right. It's built like a Craftsman style layout. When I was here recently, it was for a friend's birthday and there was a group of 10+ of us. They only do family style food so our group was split into 2 tables and each table ordered their own entrees and meals to eat family style. I was at a table of perks I had just met that night, but we had no issues sharing plates. This may not be for everyone, do you can still order your own entrees, but there won't be much variety if you don't have a lot of people. The food was good. We ordered wallet shrimp, Buddha's delight, the curry noodles/chow mein, garlic green beans and chicken chow mein. All three good was good. I would say it's above average and comparable to Din Tai Fung, but a bit cheaper. I liked the walnut shrimp, garlic green beans and buddhas delight. Service was decent. It could've been better, but could've been worse. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. I'll be back when dine downtown rolls around.

On my latest visit it was a very busy Sunday, but I was able to place an order for take-out and then wait in my car for the order to be ready. I ended up ordering the pork steamed rice noodle roll, the beef and cilantro steamed rice noodle roll, the garlic long beans, and the beef and mixed mushrooms. I saw a couple of other Elites dining in when I was ordering, but it was so busy I couldn't properly say hi, so "HI DAVID AND EVA!" I'll have to keep an eye out for their next review, because whatever they had looked delish! I waited in the car for a bit and then when the order still needed a few more minutes I popped into the dollar store next door to kill a bit more time. Before I knew it my order was ready to go. They packed everything really nicely and we served it up as soon as we got home. Their rice noodle rolls are so flavorful and I love the sweet, salty and savory sauce that comes with it. The noodles are really filling, and the dishes we got would be enough food for 2-4 people depending on how hungry you are. We ate the rice rolls right away and then had leftover green beans and beef and mushrooms for lunch today. The green beans were fresh and had a great garlic flavor, without it being too much. The Beef and Mushrooms was great, the beef was tender and flavorful and the mushrooms soaked up all the sauce. There were also green beans in this dish, which was a perfect addition. I really need to dine in soon for the full experience, but take-out has always been a win for me.

We decided to try a little bit of everything and here is what we ordered: hot and sour soup, potstickers, spicy cucumbers, BBQ pork, BBQ pork fried rice, Mongolian beef, and honey walnut shrimp. The food came out fast and piping hot. Pretty soon our entire table was covered with dishes. We started with the hot and sour soup, which we both felt was lacking in the flavor department. It didn't have that spicy tang that you look for when you order hot and sour soup. The potstickers were fried crispy, but the dough was a little too thick. The spicy cucumbers had no flavor to them at all. And the honey walnut shrimp was not memorable. We both felt that the two best dishes were the BBQ pork fried rice and the Mongolian beef. The beef was tender and had good flavor. The prices were extremely fair and the portions were large, but all in all this was not my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area.
