When we hired Trevor,…read morehe assured us that he would cover everything when cutting a high top bar to counter height and removing the back splash Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. It took him about two weeks to patch up the wall due to a lack of manpower, and he didn't do a very good job. We now have to hire someone to come and correct it. The downside is that since he didn't cover anything, he scratched my stove. I informed him via text, but he didn't reply. That was very disappointing on that front. Now I have to buy a top for my stove. However, besides everything else, Trevor did a good job in certain things. But he lacked in others.

You know you are in trouble when the installer asks if the shiplap was on the walls when the template was done (it was). They took over an inch off of our butcher block countertops because the walls were uneven but there was a gap of over an inch behind the countertop (that my whole hand could fit down). They also did not secure the countertop on one side. After four calls to them asking them to fix the terrible install (they basically ghosted), we had to have someone else come and take care of it. I went to Oakenshield last week and met with the owner Thorn (I think that's the way it's spelled). This guy had so much knowledge and spend so much time helping me decide on the perfect cabinets for my kitchen. He didn't pressure me or make me feel like I had to make a decision right away, or even buy from him. I even shopped around after our meeting and haven't found any better prices. At the end I decided to hold off and wait until I enough cash for some of the higher end stuff he has, because there are some really amazing cabinets that are a little out of my reach right now. When the time comes though I'll definitely be buying my stuff from Oakenshield. I did the leg work and the prices and quality can't be beat, and I really appreciate a guy that isn't pushy and know his stuff.

Another professional and amazing point I should add is their respect for your home. Everyone expects a crew to clean up when the full job is complete. But Anton and his crew cleaned the entire place every single day they worked. I often watched Anton late in the evening "dusting off" the saw dust created from the carpentry work from our lawn. I doubt other crews do the same. This is the only crew we will be hiring from now on, and neighbors have been asking who did our job and can they get the contact info. Yup.
