Aside from random steak purchases, we usually buy their $80.00 Beef Freezer Packs. On two…read moreoccasions, we received fewer items than what is listed on their advertised package contents. (First time it was a package of cube steak and this time a 1lb package of hamburger.) The first time it happened (about a year ago), we just let it go. The second time was today. My phone call was transferred to whom I assume is the owner/manager. After the manager/owner reluctantly stated he'd replace the missing item, he offered no apology and not-so-subtly inferred that we were cheating him. I found the accusation appalling. Their meat isn't cheap. I work hard for my money. If a business promotes a certain amount of items then that is what is expected and should be given. It's that simple. They can keep the missing one-pound hamburger package, but our next meat purchase will be through another business.

My Grandfather and his brother were kosher butchers in the Ukraine when they came to America in…read moreabout 1918. So, I'm pretty familiar with beef, the various cuts, how to break down a cow. I respect butchers, and I love genuine butcher shops. The Butcher Block is clean, brightly lit, friendly, and has been here for about eight years. I just came here for first time. Asked if they knew how to cut Korean style beef short ribs. Yes they do. They don't have the bone in kind, but will custom cut them for you, and hand them over. They look great. Just enough fat for tenderness and flavor. Gonna marinate them for a bit in some soy, sesame oil, garlic, pear juice and lime juice. THEN cook them over lump hardwood charcoal. Looking forward to this. I know I will be a steady customer. Homemade sausage, kielbasa, Amish rolled sweet butter, seasonings, really everything you want. Oh, and if you want veggies, they have onions too!

Wow have I been impressed. It's close to the Goodyear airdock. My third time now. I prefer the old school butcher quality control. Their beef comes from a local farm and obviously no middle man. Pretty much any cut you can imagine. You want something else or a cut bigger/smaller? They will make it happen. I took home $45 worth of meat which would be at least $60 elsewhere. 5 lbs of nice and leaner ground beef, a 3.5 lb arm roast (short ribs attached), knockwursts, smoked andouilles, Polish sausage, ground pork, goose liver, etc. A steal! The lady told me they weren't sure if they would be able to fulfill my order by the date, I needed it, due to the overload of orders they had already. She said that they would try to squeeze me in and call me if they thought they would be able to fulfill it. I told the lady if not that's OK. I understand. I didn't think about all the graduation parties and stuff happening around the same time, people may be ordering meat for. I was ordering it for my dad's celebration of life. To my surprise, I received a call telling me that they were going to squeeze me in and fill my order. This is the only second time I have been to this place. If I could give them more than a five stars, I would give them 10. I highly recommend this place. The service has always been great and the people are very friendly. I know I will be using their service again. I'll probably even stop by my meat at the grocery store and just call there and order what I want for now on.
