Finally, they told our contractor it would be here 7/28. Since we had to tear out our kitchen flooring, contractor started demo on 7/29 to minimize how long we would be without a kitchen. Then the call that it didn't show up. For an entire week, he was given the runaround about how they couldn't get any update from the supplier, or the shipping was delayed for some reason, etc etc. Fast forward a week, flooring finally shows up the evening of 8/4. Contractor goes to pick up on 8/5, and it's damaged. Modern Floors was made aware of the damage, but instead of offering compensation for the shipping debacle or the damaged product, the salesman said he would knock a few bucks off the 2 pieces of quarter round trim. In hindsight, I should've listened to everyone who told me to avoid that place and ordered thru Home Depot/Lowes/or even one of the many online retailers I could have done so and paid less money. Hopefully this saves someone else the headache we had to deal with.

I'm torn by this review because the installation of the product was professional and it turned out beautifully. It did take quite awhile for them to come to install, but that was understandable due to the high volume of need in my area. The problem I have with the business is that I sent several remnants of carpet with them to have rugs made for my home, and it has been 8 months and I have not gotten the rugs. I have made several calls to the business and was assured that progress was being made. The business has never contacted me in the 8 months. I even left a message asking them just to let me know if the remnants had been lost and there was no reply. The carpet was very expensive and had I known this would be the situation I would have gone with the company I originally purchased the carpet from. This is unfortunate as I really enjoyed working with Matt and his crew.

I am not one to leave bad reviews however this "company" warrants one…read more I called and inquired about cleaning services as a gift for my girlfriend who is a hard working single mother of three. The woman who answered talked me into a "deep cleaning" package that consisted of four hours of work. I paid upfront. I was told that the deep cleaning would consist of refrigerator cleaning and scrubbing of grime. I was told I would receive a checklist of items in an email to convey to my cleaner what was needed. I never received this email checklist. I took a break from work to meet the cleaner at the house on the day of the appointment. At the scheduled start time no one had arrived. So I called the number and the same woman answered. She apologized for the tardiness of the cleaner and assured me the owner of the company himself was coming to clean. He arrived 15 minutes late. He seemed a little off. I thought maybe he was tired. I showed him around the house and told him I was mainly interested in four main tasks being completed. Wiping down the window frames, dusting in living area, dusting in one bedroom and cleaning some grime on one wall. I would consider anything else a bonus. I then left to go to work. Four hours later I returned and was stunned. None of the four items I had asked him to do, had been done. I asked him to walk me around and show me what he had actually done in the four hours. He mumbled that he had accidentally broke the toilet and had spent time trying to fix it! He literally broke the connection on a bidet, flooded the floor and then just shut the water to the toilet off. I asked him how it happened and he couldn't look me in the eye and couldn't communicate clearly. Again he seemed off. He told me he would stay a bit longer and complete some of the four things I had asked. He stayed 10 minutes and did a little dusting. He then told me that he had another appointment and had to go. Frustrated I called the number and spoke to the same woman. She tells me the "owner" is actually her son. She becomes super defensive and insinuates I am lying when I tell her that nothing had been cleaned. She told me that her son would come back another day and work another thirty minutes. At this point I should mention my girlfriend has two video cameras in the house. So we check the footage. The son actually left for an hour during the four hour span! I was also able to see that he didn't even enter the living room but for three minutes to quickly vacuum. Time stamps are on the video and he left for an hour! I called the woman and told her about the cameras and she became irate and insisted I should have told her about the cameras before hand. Instead of apologizing for her son leaving, she tried to make me feel like a weirdo for having indoor cameras. She insists that her son left for 15 minutes to get cleaning supplies at Walmart. What kind of cleaning company doesn't show up with enough supplies? At this point I tell her I want a partial refund since he obviously didn't clean, broke the toilet and left for an hour. She refused. She then tried to negotiate and state the son would return to finish the job. I politely declined and stated I would like a refund of one hour. I figured this was fair. She became very agitated and told me she would refund 15 minutes only. She was mean, argumentative and totally unprofessional. I ended up telling her I didn't want to argue anymore and would simply do a charge back if she wouldn't refund one hour. She laughed and told me good luck that the payment was a service and secured through PayPal and I would never get the money back. I went to my bank, showed them the video proof and the bank completely refunded all of my money and apologized to me that I had to deal with such a crooked company. I would have left it there but a month later the woman called me and threatened me stating that what I did was illegal and that she was going to take me to court and that I had better get a lawyer. I told her I looked forward to it and hung up. I await showing video proof in court.
