Despite several notifications and documentation from her psychiatric treatment team, I did not see any reassessment of her stimulant prescription or coordination with her mental-health providers. She is now hospitalized for the second time this year and her medication conflicts are part of what her inpatient team is addressing. I'm sharing this so other families understand how important it is to advocate strongly when someone has complex psychiatric needs.

Once I was able to hack through the scheduling nonsense, I was planned to see Dr. Hong in a specific location, and when I arrive the location was dark, and no one home. I'm 100% positive I planned the visit at this location, as it was a 10-minute drive for me vs 1-2 hours. I was specific about it. I was told this was not the case. Again - after dealing with their automated nonsense to talk to a human, many of their staff were rude, and un-empathetic. I was understandably irritated, and the staff doubled down. I accidentally left my newly updated Medicare card on my counter at home. Despite being a regular patient for two decades, the front desk completely refused to help me look up the number or allow me to call it in after the visit. When I politely stated that the receptionist wasn't being very nice to a long-term patient, she flatly told me, "It's not a matter of niceness, it's a matter of policy."A clinic can enforce billing rules while still treating elderly, long-term patients with dignity and warmth. To be turned away so coldly over a simple oversight was incredibly embarrassing and unprofessional. Dr. Rourke and Dr. Scapinni are great, but management desperately needs to train their front desk staff on basic empathy and customer service.
