Two bikers for every hiker. It can get crowded if you aren't hiking alone with bike traffic. Surprisingly not too many bugs even though it rained the day before. TH at the very end of the parking lot. Numerous pavilions, fishing piers, playgrounds, and a small beach. I took a dip in the lake after hiking and it was refreshing, but the shoreline is small and the swimming area doesn't go much deeper than four feet. Water was clear, to the point where I could see a band aid in the sand. On another note, coming from Detroit you will run into construction on HWY 96 (Summer 22) as you near Kensington Park. I had minor delays at 9AM, but on my way back there were massive delays with only one operating lane. Check before you go.

I have no idea how we lived with our dog before the dog park!! I was pretty hesitant about taking…read moremy pup to the dog park at first because it seems like you always hear bad things about them. We didn't have a fenced in yard and my pup just needed somewhere to run. City requirements made me so much more comfortable with the other dogs in the park, knowing that they were also vaccinated and registered. The secured entry ensures that not just any dog off the street can wander in. The other dog owners are friendly and responsible. Everyone keeps a close eye on their pet to ensure that play doesn't get too rough and poo is picked up. If someone misses their dog pooing, other folks will either help find the 'land mine' or often pick it up for them. There are multiple water bowls and a faucet with fresh water to fill them up at (which owners take turns doing regularly). There are two separate play spaces, one that's ~four acres and another that's for small dogs under 22lbs. The facility contains several benches and waste receptacles with free dog waste bags. The many "regulars" at this park form an awesome community. Everyone chips in to keep the park in tip top shape, owners know almost all of the others dogs' names, watch out for each other's pets and share both funny stories and useful info that can only come from another dog lover. There's even a playground outside of the park for the kiddos - dog park outings are fun and active for our whole family!

Good size with two areas, one for small dogs and the other for all dogs. Bowls and water is available, even a port o john for people. Only wish there was more trees within the dog area because shade makes for happier dogs and humans. So far all dog people seem kind, professional and aware of surroundings. All kinds of dogs and owners are here having a good time. The staff monitors the dogs behaviors and intervenes if anything happens. Our dog was receiving too much attention from another and the staff separated them frequently. The place has a large garage feel to it with lots of TVs playing the games. It was a lot of fun for him and we each got a drink to pass the time. We will be back. Bring your dog and have a great time. I can't wait to see this place in the summer!

We have been going to the park since it opened so I think this is our third or fourth year. The dog…read morepark is divided into two sides for large and small dogs, which works out great for both dogs. The park is in a great location, but there aren't any mature trees or shade source. They added a very small structure on the large dog side but it is very small. On hot days it becomes very warm for both the dogs and people. There are water sources on both sides of the park so that dogs can be given water. Some people have left bowls there, but you may want to bring your own. My favorite part of the park is the friendships I've made with both people and dogs. The regulars like to sit or stand and talk to each other. There are a few benches available for sitting and some people bring chairs. I am so glad the township added this park. It is well loved by many and the annual fee is very affordable.

I couldn't be happier about a place where my dog can just be a dog and meet other dogs (dogs, dogs, dogs!!). The park is HUGE and split into two parts (small and timid dogs on one side and big dogs on the other). I like this feature because it can be intimidating for an owner to watch their small 5 Ibs chihuahua try to run and keep up with the bigger breeds. The park usually has bowls for water and a fresh water supply (but it is turned off in the winter months). The park provides plastic bags to pick up after your dog and deposit his/her business in the receptor. They also salt around the park (during the icy season) with paw-friendly salt so you don't have to worry about it hurting your pal. As a visitor of the park, you'll need to register your information with the city and get a key fob. Novi shares its dog park with the city of Northville so as members, you can take advantage of both locations. The park is a fantastic avenue for dogs to get out their energy and play with their own kind. My dog enjoys the park so much and I enjoy it too because he sleeps for hours on end after a visit :-)

The one off-putting thing I've noticed is some people treat this place like it is their private yard and will bring reactive or aggressive dogs here. I have had someone sit in their car waiting for me and my dog to leave so they can come in with their dog who "doesn't like other dogs". Also, my dog escaped once because someone didn't close both doors. So, like any dog park, or place in public really, the real menace is people messing things up.
