It was a little confusing to get into the building just given it's off of the east beltline but when you walk in it's very clean and well marked. The entryway was absolutely beautiful and the establishment was extremely clean. My aesthetician was great and very prompt in helping me in addition to completing the appointment in a timely manner. There are a lot of different services that you can have at urban you and I'll definitely be considering a facial at some point in time. The costs or what you would expect for the Grand Rapids area but the convenience of same-day appointments and online scheduling was key for me. I'll definitely be coming back.

I spent more money than ever before and I still have deep frown lines and crows feet. I got around 55-60 units. So you'd think- I'd be tight, but I'm absolutely not. Highly disappointed. I actually think the estheticians/nurses don't actually put a full unit in and actually just do half so the customer keeps coming back for more and more. So they're crooks and liars. 60 units on a 30 year old should NOT have the deep from lines and crows feeet I have they completely fooled and tricked and lied to me to try to get more money out of me I've lost all respect for this company. Definitely going somewhere else. If you want good truthful care STAY AWAY

It is generally pretty quiet in there, and you never really have much of a wait for your appointment time. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Jamie helps to make you feel comfortable and informed if you have never had a service before, or if you are new here. She is quick and efficient, but does a good job. She is also really good with telling you about aftercare, and tips/tricks, offering you products that she has for sale there to continue your aftercare at home. There are specials, too, if you pay attention to those.

This experience highlighted the importance of proper communication between the client and technician to ensure expectations are clearly understood and to provide safe, satisfactory service. I came in hoping to have my nails filled. I was greeted by Kim and then assigned to another technician. The technician did not speak English, so communication was very difficult. I asked Kim to help translate. I was told that they recommended starting over with a new set, although I did not fully understand the reason. I agreed. During the removal of my existing gel, the technician filed my nails and then used a piece of plastic to chip away the old gel. In the process, the top layer of my natural nails was also removed. I have very thin nails, and this was painful. I asked Kim to explain this to the technician, but communication remained difficult. The technician then began preparing my nails for tips. I specifically explained that I did not want tips because I cannot tolerate nail glue. I requested gel or powder instead. By that point, however, my nails had already been cut very short. Kim then took over after finishing with another client. When Kim asked what shape I wanted, I explained that I wanted a natural shape--not pointy or square. I tried several times to explain that I simply wanted the corners rounded. The communication continued to be difficult, and I felt that Kim was increasingly frustrated with me as a client. Eventually, while working on my nails, she suddenly began cutting them very short. When I questioned what she was doing, she told me she would not continue the service, that there would be no charge, and that she needed to cut off what she had done. She then told me to go somewhere else. This happened at approximately 6:55 p.m., when most other salons were already closing, leaving me with very short, damaged and painful nails and nowhere realistic to go for help that evening. I understand that communication difficulties can happen, but I expected patience, professionalism, and care--especially when I was clearly experiencing pain and trying to explain what I wanted. Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled left me very disappointed. Based on my experience, I would not return.

When my pedi color (opi bubble bath) wasn't set in 3 coats, my nail tech added 3 more to my big toe. Then the unthinkable.....when putting on my sandals, we both bumped that same toe. Pedi with sugar scrub and hot towel was $35, there was another upgraded service as well. You'll find five nail stations and five pedicure chairs.
