She took her time and talked me through each step as she was doing it. I love that she's conservative with waxing because she does a little at a time to be sure she doesn't take off too much! I'm a grown responsible adult who keeps a calendar and I fully intended to be at my appointment. My two previous appointments were made same-day, so I never encountered this issue. However, for my third visit, I scheduled in advance for a 9:00 AM appointment. The salon texted me at 8:08 AM to confirm. I was in the shower getting ready and didn't see the message. By the time I got in my car, and my phone synced, I had four texts and a missed call. When I didn't respond by 8:30 AM -- not even 30 minutes later -- they canceled my appointment. I called to explain, and the owner stood by her policy. She said the confirmation texts go out at the same time for everyone the day of the appointment. She said they've never had a problem doing it that way. I understand businesses have their systems, but as a customer, I would have appreciated being told in advance that I'd need to respond to a text within such a tight window or risk losing my spot. I can't think of another professional business -- whether a hair salon, doctor's office, restaurant, or otherwise -- that expects confirmation within 20-30 minutes on the day of the appointment, especially without prior notice. Most give you at least 24 hours, or send multiple reminders with more flexibility. I share this not to criticize their work, but to give a heads-up to anyone considering booking here: make sure you're watching your phone closely the morning of, or your appointment might be gone before you even have a chance to respond.
