Wahoo! We have a Quick Chek in Somerset now! This Quick Chek is newly built, so everything is shiny and bright. The interior is immaculate as only a brand new building can be. It's super clean. The gas prices here are significantly lower than those at the only other gas station on Easton Ave., and this aspect alone has been a conversation topic in my neighborhood, with us all commenting how grateful we are that we now have another gas station option. The parking lot is big and has a couple stations to put air in tires. Quick Chek has a fantastic selection of food, drinks, and supplies. Their deli makes good sandwiches and soups, and this location has both outdoor and indoor seating areas. There's a nice feeling that comes with opening a new store, and I could sense the energy and enthusiasm of the employees, even very late at night. Everyone seemed in a good mood, staff and customers alike. I'm glad Quick Chek opened a store here and I predict they will be very popular. I plan to shop and gas up here a lot!

Service at the pump was nothing unusual - a hot day, so the pump man came and went without much conversation. Good that it was a couple cents cheaper than the Exxon down the road.

However, I noticed the feature has been turned off in the Clover App for several weeks now, and I figured since it was midday Saturday, it would be safe. Wrong. The place wasn't busy, but many people were waiting and it took a looong time, even tho I only ordered a plain bagel with light cream cheese and a coffee. Several people that came after me got their food before, and what normally takes 3-4 min, took almost 12. Plus my order had to be remade because the lady prepping it accidentally toasted the bagel. I wrote it off as an off day, but came back on Sunday and had a similar experience. Needless to say, I'll keep coming here because the facility is super clean and I love their food, I just hope they get it together and reopen the Order Ahead option!

This is unusual since all of the other employees at Bishop's are friendly and helpful. This past weekend my husband and I were in a line at the service desk for lottery tickets and the line was growing and not moving. The woman working the Service Desk appeared to be BSing with some customer (for whatever reason), and not once did she ever look over at the ever growing line of customers; again, unusual for Bishop's. Finally some guy spoke up and said something like 'there is a line of people here waiting'. That service woman, instead of apologizing for the wait and thanking people for their patience, instead started to lecture the guy and tell him that he needs to be patient and if he cant be patient he can go somewhere else. ?!?!?!?!? Thought you would want to know what happens in your store.

My wife and I stopped in for a quick bite and ordered two 6" subs -- the Italian sub and the Vodka…read moreChicken Parmesan subwich. We split both to try them, and honestly, they were way better than expected. The Italian had that classic combo of cold cuts, shredded lettuce, tomato, and just the right amount of oil and vinegar -- no onion, and nothing was soggy or falling apart. Everything was tucked in perfectly and easy to eat. The Vodka Chicken Parmesan sub was the real surprise. The chicken was tender, the breading wasn't soggy, and the vodka sauce had great flavor without overpowering the sandwich. The melted cheese pulled it all together. Definitely not your average gas station sub -- this one had care. The same lady made both sandwiches -- and she did it fast and with precision. Usually these can be hit or miss (either overloaded or falling apart), but she nailed the balance and did it quickly without cutting corners. The bathroom and some areas were a bit messy, but we saw another employee actively cleaning. For just two staff members running the whole place, they were doing a solid job. This QuickChek is a reliable stop for sandwiches, gas, snacks, and essentials. We'll definitely be back -- and next time, probably for another Vodka Parm.
