Okay, now can we say AWESOME. I don't know if it's that this establishment is fairly new or if it's just plain awesome?!? It's greatly lit and feels clean when you walk in. I'm usually a Quick Check patron (ease of access on the way to work), however, I may start to make a bit of a detour! This is a smaller Wawa than the one about a mile down route 9. I like coming here because the employees always recognize me and it's in less of a busy area, so I know I can get in and out quickly. It's also where I come when I need air in my tires, because the one on route 9 by the parkway always has a line for air. The only issue I have with this location is they're not as well stocked, or tend to run out of items more often than the other one. Not ideal, but whenever I need to go up route 9 for any reason, I head to this Wawa. read more

I went yesterday during their "Grand Opening" day. We got cheap gas there, and the attendants were very friendly. They actually had a lot of gas pumps there, plus a free air pump as well. Inside the store, we were warmly greeted by the employees. They were very nice and patient. The store itself looked big and clean, and had a lot of snacks, baked goods, drink options and more. Their self-serve and specialty coffees were delicious. The location is very convenient for those like myself who have to travel on US-1 and NJ-35 in the Central Jersey area. Not a very good experience today. Just got a sandwich about an hour ago and marked a special order, the guy never asked me what it was.. I noticed he was making mine and asked and let him know I had a special order he looked at me as if I bothered him and then fixed it for me. I went to pay and came back to get my sandwich asked for a side of the cherry pepper relish and the horseradish the girl standing there didn't know what I was even talking about as she rolled her eyes at me walked by the dressings and said "ok what do u want" in a not so nice tone. Wawa is in a league of their own. Incredible hoagies and a diverse selection of other products and beverages. I like to stick to the Wawa brand. Their double Dutch chocolate milk is insanely good. They don't make it in a size other than a pint. That is because it is sooooo good and doesn't deserve to be compared to other types of milk. One of my friends told me it's like drinking ice cream. Either way, Wawa employees tend to be some of the coolest people on earth and they always open two or three registers when lines get too long. Their system works and it is paying off. This is a brand new wawa store that opened about a month ago; prime location off route 1 with plenty of parking. The reasons I visit (or anyone should stop by here): Great coffee (for a $1 for limited time), free Air for your car, cheap gas, great sandwiches aka hoagies and just best convenient store compared to 711, Quick Check..etc. The place is very clean for now & well maintained. The folks who work here are friendly. As I mentioned above, they also have a gas station here which offers pretty cheap gas compared to other gas stations in the area. The big plus for me: they are open 24hrs so I can get decent late night snack after night of drinking! read more

They put chicken on my cheese quesadilla. I'm a vegetarian. My fiance` didn't catch it until we opened it after bringing it home. Clearly says cheese on the tag. Thanks for ruining my dinner; you get one star because you can't read, and i'm hangry. And when I called to try and bring this to their attention, they had a busy signal on the phone line that they advertise, for about 10 minutes straight. Pretty much your standard Wawa. The interior was very clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and service was relatively quick at the hoagie counter. The cheesesteak I ordered was delicious and I would happily order again. The prices are very competitive and don't hurt the wallet. There is plenty of space for parking and a good amount of stalls for gas so you don't have to wait for other cars to finish fueling up. read more

Service is usually good, but food and beverages is always good. -Beef and cheese quesadilla with bacon, american, cheddar, steak, and pepper and sour cream. AMAZING -Mint Cookies and Cream Cappuccino. PERFECT -Sweet Cream filled pretzel. YES. literally. Just do it. -Coffee, the irish creamer is amazing and so are the coffee blends. It was a snowy night in Avenel on Dec. 9th 2017. Since I was in the area for work, I thought I'd stop by the infamous WAWA's to get a hoagie. I ordered my classic steak cheese via the computer and I went to pay for it at the counter. By the time I got back to the other counter to pickup my hoagie, the lady was wrapping my sandwich up. This entire transaction was about a minute and 30 seconds. There's no way the sub is fresh within that time. This was the nastiest steak and cheese I have ever had. The onions tasted old, like they were sitting for hours. This was a truly disappointing experience. I can tell you that I will never eat there again. The meat was warm instead of hot. I'm pretty this sub was old, but there was nothing I could do by the time i ate it. No thanks Avenel...Jersey proving again to be the armpit of the United States. read more

I would give it 0 stars, but have to give a star to post. Horrible experience. Gas lines at every stall. I pulled behind a customer getting gas. He finished, paid and then put his car in park in the gas stall and got out to go into store while walking right by my car waiting behind him. Gas attendant watched the entire event and said/did nothing. Then when customer came out, he had a confrontation with the waiting police officer. After customer was told by Officer to get back in car the gas attendant felt the need to tell the customer I was cursing him out while he was in the store. I never said a curse word, I did beep my horn at the attendant and told him to go get the customer to move his car. I would love for management to pull the videos. After gas attendant told customer I was cursing him out, customer left car parked in stall and got out again telling Officer he was going to confronr me. After he left gas attendant would not wait on me, I had to wait for another attendant to assist me. Horrible that their employees would incite violence and confrontation between two customers. read more

This store is amazing. The staff is always so friendly, especially the manager. The food is always very fresh and the quality is miles ahead of its competition quick chek. Though I wouldn't really call it competition because Wawa is so much better. The food is also inexpensive where the quick chek up the road gets way too much for a sub or wrap, especially when the food isn't half as good as Wawa. I started going to Wawa as soon a it opened and was VERY happy with the employees, food, gas prices. Twice in July I noticed I had double charges for gas. I checked with my bank who denied me being reimbursed for $40 worth of gas I did not purchase. On two occasions in a day or so following the purchase of gas I was charged a second time. I do not know if it was a glitch in their system or if someone took my card number and bought additional gas. I've since stopped going to this store, started using BP for gas and Quick Check for little odds and ends. read more

I must say the gas attendents are amazing but as for the inside of the store, never again. The first time I went in, I guess there was a very excited manager at the register and he proceeded to announce every single item aloud as he scanned and placed them in my bag which I thought was a little over the top and off-putting. Today was the second time I went in and a cashier? named NICOLE came to relieve another girl and was extremely unprofessional. As she was checking out the woman in front of me she was having a conversation with a manager about whether it was okay to drink and have ICEE's on the job. She never said have a nice day to that woman, hello to me, or have a great day to me either. That was the nail in the coffin for my times going to that WAWA.
