My school mates were so nice and everyone made me feel welcome and wendy paul was my girl friend and always walked me to class and to football practice. The gross negligence of the principal security and dean of student is beyond conscious able. Their…read moredeaf ears ignored teachers pleas of support and help with difficult unruly students. As a result a loaded gun came into the school and almost cost the lives of students. This gun was passed around to many other kids and a child was able to unload the bullets and hide the gun. There's no supervision no consequences and no leadership. They rate teacher ineffective to hide their incompetence so it looks like it's a teacher problem. Kids are not safe and neither are teachers. Security hides behind their monstrous TV and lock doors with blinds closed. They never come when you call and the principal was seen in our wing three times the entire year. Despite kids getting high caping and the entire floor smelling like weed. She did nothing to support teachers health and well being. When I finally hunted and tracked the dean of student and said these kids are high he said and I quote "they're not high now " and walked away from me. Not assisting me or asking me if I am OK. Teachers filed CPS charges because the school would not do so. Gross negligence.

What a tour put on by HSGL. We entered Walter French from the west parking lot…read more We didn't go into the living quarters, they have 76 apts for rent, based on income/voucher. They offer 1,2,and 3 bedroom apt. We were able to tour the gymnasium and the auditorium that are finishing up Construction in these areas. The building is solid historically attractive, updated inside and out. Walter French will be celebrating its 100 th birthday this September, with an open house.
