I never write a review before but this time I have to do it because health concerns. My daughter came here for MRI exam. The lady who performed the exam on my daughter either inexperienced or new there. While she tried to figure to set up the MRI machine, a young lady came in and tried to show her how to do it correctly but she acted like a boss instead saying thank you for helped. During the exam, she came in and out the exam room at least three times to pulled my daughter in/out the MRI machine for fixed something that she didn't done correctly from the beginning. During the exam, she didn't tell my daughter to breathe in and out or hold breathe, she performed MRI exam without these steps even thought she practiced my daughter before the exam started. The exam took longer than 2 hours, I feel something went wrong so I came out the room I witnessed that she texted on her phone while performed exam on my daughter. My daughter never had any problem with procedures or exams in the past but this time she told me she was exhausted and fell asleep 3 times while inside the MRI machine. Below picture of my daughter arm where the lady pulled out the IV.

Does anyone know how much a breast MRI to roll out implant rupture is if paid in cash?

I had an appt for one type of image, which was easy to schedule and scheduler was helpful. X-rays are walks in, I arrived early and called back right away, and was also able to get an x-ray with no wait. I do recommend going as they open, buy the time I left around 10:30am they were busy. The entire staff was very polite and helpful, Gaby the ultrasound tech was super sweet and helpful during the process. Just like any office these days, patience is key. I understand frustration, but I didn't get that from this office.

Terrible Appointment Management, Unprofessional Staff, and No Accountability!…read more I had a bladder ultrasound scheduled for October 8, 2026, at 8:00 AM at UMI of Torrance. On October 2, UMI left me a voicemail saying no technician would be available and asking me to reschedule. However, on October 4, I received a text asking me to confirm my October 8 appointment. I replied "YES," and received the response, "Your appointment has been confirmed." I continued receiving messages on October 5 and 6 asking me to complete preparation forms. On October 7, UMI again confirmed my October 8 appointment at 8:00 AM and instructed me to arrive 30 minutes early. Even on October 8 at 8:06 AM, their system was STILL sending me appointment preparation instructions! Naturally, I believed the staffing issue had been resolved. I drove approximately 15 miles from Long Beach to Torrance, taking 35 minutes in morning traffic, and arrived at 7:50 AM. Two female front-desk employees appeared to be eating breakfast. They asked whether I had drunk plenty of water. I said no because nobody had instructed me to do so. They gave me water, which I drank. ONLY AFTER THAT did they check their system and tell me no ultrasound technician was available! If my appointment had been canceled, why were they preparing me for the examination? One employee said, "I left you a voicemail." When I explained the multiple confirmations I had received afterward, she replied, "Those messages were sent by the system, not by us." Seriously? What kind of excuse is that? Does she believe the clinic has no responsibility for messages generated by its own scheduling system? Instead of apologizing, she appeared to shift responsibility to the system. I received no apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience. I found her response extremely unprofessional and lacking in basic common sense. I seriously wonder whether UMI's business owner and upper management know how poorly this facility is being operated. Do they know their system continues confirming appointments when no technician is available? Do they know staff begin preparing patients without verifying whether the examination can proceed? Is this how the business owner trains employees to handle patients and complaints? Is blaming an automated system instead of accepting responsibility considered acceptable customer service? Who supervises these employees? Who is responsible for correcting the scheduling system? Is this the level of professionalism and patient care that UMI's ownership and management consider acceptable? I unnecessarily drove approximately 30 miles round trip, wasting gas and valuable time. I am requesting $20 reimbursement for this unnecessary trip. My request for reimbursement is not about the amount of money. It is about accountability, professionalism, and respecting patients' time. I expect a medical imaging facility to employ competent, professional, properly trained staff who understand appointment management, communication, and accountability. Patients deserve better than the careless and unprofessional treatment I experienced. I still intend to return for my ultrasound examination and expect to be treated professionally. I welcome a response from UMI's owner or upper management explaining how they will address these failures and my $20 reimbursement request.

I enjoy coming here for tests since I can take care of my check in online ahead of time and don't have to waste time hanging around. The majority of the staff is very well trained and pleasant to the patients. It took a bit longer today since an intern was assigned to conduct a test and had to get clearance from someone in charge to ensure all the images were acceptable before they let me go. I could tell she didn't have too much experience since she forgot to tell me breathe again after telling me to hold my breath the first time. She also didn't give me a whole lot of time in between talking a deep breath, holding it, and being allowed to breathe again. Felt a bit like a marathon. No harm done though. Everyone from the check in clerk to the staff taking me to the assigned room and giving me the instructions to prepare for the technician who was coming soon, was very pleasant and they made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. The breathing glitch was the only downside but she was very pleasant so I'll cut her some slack. Everybody has to start someplace right?

** Update on the bill ***…read more Recently I received a bill for a routine abdomen ultrasound and I was completely dumbfounded by the bill. This imaging facility charged $2.6k for an ultrasound service and I ended up being responsible for half of the remaining balance. Later I found out that Cedars-Sinai (Torrance Memorial is an affiliate of Cedars-Sinai) charges some of the highest rates for abdominal ultrasounds (CPT 76700) in Los Angeles County for standard PPO plans and the median negotiated prices in Los Angeles County are lower than four figures. I did send a message through their feedback portal ( http://torrancememorial.org/patientfeedback ) and honestly I was not surprised that they didn't respond even after I had left my contact information and asked to be contacted regarding this matter. I ended up calling the billing department and the staff simply said that's how it is billed & the only action they took was mailing the itemized charges. Main takeaway message - only come here if you have HMO insurance. If you have PPO insurance, get a price check on the Torrance Memorial website on price transparency ( https://www.torrancememorial.org/patients-visitors/billing-insurance/price-transparency/ ) by reviewing the machine-readable file that provides pricing information before committing to an imaging service at this facility.

The first 30 minutes = $2.00 and each additional 30 minutes thereafter = $1.00. Daily maximum = $10.00. Don't forget to stamp the ticket at the Quest office counter before leaving. Otherwise, there should be plenty of free street parking if you come early enough and don't want to worry about parking validation. [Process]: There were no receptionists at the counter at 8 AM. Visitors can use the kiosk to check in or use the online check-in link provided in the email. I clicked the online check-in link and it took less than a minute to complete the process. I arrived at 8 AM and was done in less than 10 minutes after checking in. To my surprise, I didn't have to make a fist and the phlebotomist was still able to complete the blood draw within minutes. The waiting room also has a screen showing the number of customers currently being served and the number of customers with scheduled appointments within the next 60 minutes. [Lab order]: I forgot to bring a physical printout, but the phlebotomist was able to locate a digital copy by searching my name and birthday. Otherwise, customers can email a copy to PSCCWK@Questdiagnostics.com. [Conclusion]: A fairly efficient process when everything aligns from having an appointment scheduled to having the lab order ready.

About the only thing I don't like about this medical center is that you have to take a ticket when entering the parking lot and need to remember to stamp your ticket before leaving the office in order to avoid paying for parking. This is the only medical center in the area that tries to charge people for parking. Not the fault of Quest though.
