The food came out fairly quickly as did the drinks. I'd give the wings a 7/10, the half chicken was a 8/10 and the steak entree was a 9/10. The desserts were also a 9/10. Upon arrival they were playing really mellow music 90s and early 2000s RnB mixed with little pop and current RnB. Later on they had a live dj and he set the vibes! We also ordered hookah which was good, it wasn't harsh at all!

His passion for cooking with fresh ingredients shines through in every single bite. Everything here is made completely from scratch, and you can truly taste the love behind the food. We started with the creamiest fresh-made hummus and tangy tzatziki, followed by kibbeh and perfectly fried labneh that were crispy on the outside and dreamy on the inside. The lentil soup was cozy and comforting, and the Mediterranean house salad was bright, crisp, and loaded with flavor. Then came the main event: a massive Mediterranean feast with grilled meats, shrimp, chicken, lamb, fresh veggies, and house-made sauces. All cooked to perfection by Chef Saad. The cocktails were refreshing and delicious, and the hookah had the smoothest minty-tropical flavor that paired perfectly with the entire experience. And just when we thought we couldn't eat another bite... we met the crispy banana dessert. A warm, golden pastry stuffed with banana and cheesecake, lightly fried, and served with vanilla ice cream. Absolute heaven. From the food to the drinks to the service, Sahara Café delivered a 10/10 experience. Jacksonville, if you're looking for authentic Mediterranean cuisine made with heart, this is the spot.

It has officially become my go-to destination whenever I visit Jacksonville and want to get out of the house and actually enjoy my night. First off, the service here is top-tier. The staff is attentive, friendly, and they genuinely make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. And the food? It's consistently delicious. I recently had the salmon, and it was cooked to perfection--flaky, flavorful, and better than what you'd find at most dedicated restaurants. It's rare to find a lounge where the kitchen keeps up with the quality of the atmosphere, but Trio pulls it off effortlessly. Now, let's talk about the main event. In my opinion, Trio offers the best hookah in the city. The pulls are smooth, the flavors are bold, and the setup is always clean. Whether you're a seasoned enthusiast or just looking for a relaxing smoke, you won't find a better experience elsewhere. The Vibe: It's a true kick-back atmosphere. It's sophisticated and lively, making it the perfect middle ground for those who want to socialize without the deafening noise of a nightclub. The Crowd: Be warned--this place is a local favorite for a reason! It gets rather packed on the weekends. Reservations: To ensure you aren't stuck waiting, I highly recommend reserving a table in advance if you're planning a weekend visit. I can't recommend Trio Hookah Lounge enough. Whether you're there for the vibes, the incredible salmon, or the smoothest hookah in town, you're guaranteed a great time.

But after many failed attempts, we ended up here because it was the one of the only places where the kitchen was still open at 9:30 at night to our surprise, this place is an actual nightclub! Because they are a club/lounge, they are known for their all you can drink option. Unfortunately, I do not consume liquor, only wine, so this created limited options in regards to drinks. The manager was so accommodating that he acquired a bottle of wine for our table so that I could enjoy an alcoholic beverage. Our food was very tasteful, and very fresh tasting. We were extremely shocked, given that this was indeed a nightclub. If you're ever in the area and you want to enjoy some Latin vibes, but you also want to secure some good food to have while you drink, definitely count this place in!

My Experience at Aromas Cigar, Wine & Martini Bar -- StogieFest 2026…read moreI attended StogieFest 2026 at Aromas Cigar, Wine & Martini Bar in Jacksonville for the very first time, looking forward to enjoying a relaxing evening with great cigars, drinks, and conversation. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a pleasant event turned into a truly frightening experience. While sitting at a table with three ladies, an unidentified man -- who I later learned is believed to be one of the owners or managers -- suddenly and aggressively flipped the open chair next to me, shoving the table hard enough to almost tip it over. Our drinks and handbags nearly went flying. Everyone at our table was visibly startled and shaken. Instinctively, I stood and asked, "Hey, why did you do that? Who is this guy?" Instead of responding, he became even more aggressive and began moving toward me as if he intended to attack. It took three security personnel to physically restrain him, and even they struggled to hold him back. Once he was finally removed from the area, two managers and a waitress approached our table, genuinely apologetic. They offered to pay for our drinks, urged us to stay, and assured me the situation would be handled. Several nearby patrons also expressed their concern and asked if we were okay -- everyone appeared disturbed by what they had just witnessed. I stepped outside to calm down before returning to my table, hoping to salvage what was left of the night. But before long, the same man returned, once again appearing angry and hostile, seemingly looking for me. Security had to step in a second time to remove him. Moments later, security personnel told me I needed to leave -- despite the fact that one of the managers (Torrence) had specifically asked me to stay and reassured me I had nothing to worry about. That manager was suddenly nowhere to be found, and security insisted I go. Another man named Max came over, spoke politely, and apologized, asking me to take his hand and leave for my safety. At that point, I was terrified and deeply shaken. To be absolutely clear: * I have never met or spoken to the aggressive man (whose name, I was told, is Abe) prior to this incident. * I overheard patrons mentioning that he had been drinking all day. * I am not a regular at Aromas -- this was my first visit, simply to attend StogieFest and enjoy the experience. Unfortunately, it turned into a traumatic encounter that left me feeling unsafe, humiliated, and confused. No guest should ever have to experience something like this -- especially at a professional, public event.

The decor is playful and immersive, and there's usually something going on -- from live DJs to karaoke on the main stage. The drink menu is where Nakama really shines. There's a solid selection of mixed drinks, often with creative anime-inspired names and presentations, plus a nice bonus: they serve a local soda brand that's actually pretty tasty. It's the kind of place you go to kick back with friends, sing your heart out, and enjoy the scene. But when it comes to food -- that's where things fall flat. The menu technically comes from the café next door, and while it sounds promising on paper, it doesn't translate well to the plate. Most dishes are either way too salty or bland to the point of forgettable. It's clear food isn't the focus here, which is fine, but it's something to keep in mind if you're showing up hungry. Service is friendly and accommodating. Staff does their best, but they're often out of certain menu items and seem to be working with limited resources -- not their fault, but noticeable. Honestly, a new chef or reworked food concept would go a long way. A quick heads-up: the private karaoke rooms are fun but overpriced at $16 per person per hour, so weigh that before booking. Still, the open-stage karaoke and regular themed events keep the main space lively and fun without the extra cost. Bottom line: Nakama is a great place to hang out, drink, and enjoy anime-themed entertainment. Just maybe eat beforehand.
