Our family wanted a last day trip before the start of school. My husband took off work and we spent almost two hours in a car to get there on time for our 10:00 am appointment to be told the women who does the paddle boarding went back to college. We were understandable upset and were treated poorly by the man working in the store who seemed not to care. I attempted to reach the owner and never even received a phone call back. In addition, a similar situation happened to friends of ours. They received a phone call on their way to their paddle boarding lesson from Surf Unlimited cancelling at the last minute. i WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND SURF UNLIMITED. THEY PROVED TO BE HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL.

We needed a smaller surf board to throw in car on the go for our 8yr old surfer, I called ahead to primal surf shop & Susan answered & said she would have one ready for him to pick out! When we arrived Mike showed JP all of the boards & he picked which one he wanted & Mike took the time to put the fins on the board with JP & give him a little lesson on surf safety & some surf talk! JP loved the whole experience! We've ordered other boards all online & now that Mike gave JP that experience, we will go to the primal surf shop & get the boards from now on! I remember passing the store on the ride and walked back. They fixed it quickly at no charge. That year and for the 5 years since I make it a point to stop by and buy something. It's a nice commercial staple in Beach Haven, and despite the 'uselessness' of the shops, it's hard to not find something to buy here. There's some clothing stores, jewelry shops, and plenty of candy and ice cream parlors. Everything is kitschy and touristy, but ultimately it's fun if nothing else. If you're in the area and looking for a souvenir, or just something to do, it's worth a look. Just don't expect great bargains or one-of-a-kind items.
