We recently rented a pontoon from Wave Chasers, though the experience started out great, the level of service that we received the day of was less than satisfactory. I wish we would have paid more attention to their "policies" because they have set policies that basically allow them to protect their poor services and are representative of their lower price point.  To start, we booked with them for a half day rental for a weekend at the lake. Like any travel situation we checked the weather, when the forecast called for rain, we contacted them days before our visit for their inclement weather policy (you can see the email we received RE: the policy in the attached photo). In their reply email there is discussion of a refund if there was rain, along with the inclusion of their formal policy at the bottom, but we were assured they would work with us according to the specific email discussion. We felt no need to worry as they seemed to accommodate any bad weather. (What the email did not include was their policy that if a boat was delivered, any potential refund would be forfeited. I found this out today while looking at the FAQ page) We called again the night before to make sure that the information given to us in the email still stood and to check and see what they thought about the forecast, they assured us we were good to go. Hindsight being 20/20 it makes sense why they called the morning of to confirm delivery, after all if the boat was delivered, we forfeited our refund. After we confirmed, the boat hands whom were delivering the boat, showed up to our dock 20 mins late and unprepared. The boat did not have an anchor, and while it is not a necessity (?!?!) we asked them to go get us one. The boat hands told us that all the other boats had an anchor and were not sure why ours didn't. It took an additional 30 mins for them to return with an anchor and 10 mins to get us ready to depart, we asked to make sure that we could get refunded or given an additional hour for the hour we waited, the boys said yes. Come to find out, written in the companies policy that "no refund is given for late arrival," again, I came across this today, not too sure how we were not entitled to the time that we paid for. About an 30 mins into our day on the lake, it started pouring rain. We headed back to the dock and called Wave Chasers to have them come pick the boat up and asked about our refund, as it was raining and based off of our correspondence with them, we would be given one. We were told that since the boat was in our possession we would be charged as so. After calling again we were told that we would he charged over half of what we paid, and that "[they] went and bought us an anchor when the didn't have to" & "were doing us a favor by refunding any of our rental"  Bottom line, the owners (Jen and Josh) were rude over the phone and seemed to put the blame on us. We understand they are trying to run a small business, all we wanted was good service and for them to meet the standards that they alluded to. If you want a cheaper rental rate, go with them,  just make sure you're all in and ready for less than par customer service.

Loved spending time on the pontoon! Awesome boat and great people to work with!

The bill came to $863.13 or $432 per jetski!! For an oil change which takes 3.5 quarts of oil and a filter! The parts came to about $112, the rest was for labor at $170 an hour plus shop supplies, hazardous waste charge (oil), and credit card fee (3.5%). And by the way, it took this Master mechanic (at $170 he must top-of-the line) 1.5 hours to do this oil change! Incidentally, I looked at an old 2023 bill, when the exact same mechanic changed the oil in the exact same jetskis and it took him 1.2 hours per jetski then. And of course the hourly rate was a lot cheaper back then too (37% cheaper), but it's different ownership now when Full Throttle took over from Highland Lakes Seadoo. I guess they had to increase the time the mechanic worked on these jetskis or raise the labor rate even more to get more money in, but how much more than $170 per hour are you going to charge for a guy doing a basic oil change? Or perhaps the mechanic is slowing down in his old age, who knows? My advice? Perhaps it pays to look for a different place. By the way, all the positive reviews (with the exception of one) are about Highland Lakes Seadoo, which were the previous owners. I liked that place. The new ownership has turned greedy.

I called in last night to inquire about a boat rental, I got prices and information on what we would need to rent the boat, which was a drivers license and a credit card, and you had to be born before September 1993. All requirements my husband meets. We headed out this morning and everything was going great, we decided on the boat we wanted, handed over our license and credit card. Our total was well over 1000 dollars which we were ok with. The two men at the front desk were very nice and helping us through the process when the lady from the office "manager" steps out and says she is not allowed to rent to someone who speaks Spanish. I ask what she means by this and she again says she can't rent to some one who can't comprehend English. Yes my husband doesn't not speak English fluently but can comprehend and read it well enough to rent a boat! She stated it's written policy from the insurance which when I asked her to see this written she hid in her office and handed one of the men a sticky note with the insurance information. of course a 1800 number that is closed during the weekend. I really feel bad for the owner of this business because as a business owner my self I know how bad a bad employee can have an influence on a paying customer. I thought racism was a thing of the past especially in area known or advertised for tourism. (Also I did speak to a few agents at Markel the insurance company and they stated that this was not part of their policy, and much rather had to do with the manager or owner of the store we were renting from)

On Thursday 7/28 we rented a pontoon boat and picked it up several hours late as we weren't feeling well with the corona but knew we'd lose our money if we cancelled so we went ahead and picked it up and then when we returned it only half an hour late they charged us $125! I don't really think that was fair considering we picked it up late.

It "appears" that they have very good equipment (more on "appears" later). 4. A family-owned shop run by Tammy and her husband and her son. The much appreciated stuff: 1. They were running EXTREMELY late. However, they did call and keep us informed. They offered a significantly delayed pick up that made up for the lost time. This was handled very professionally. The problematic stuff: As you will see below, they did not meet their obligations nor keep their word. As such, our family vacation was significantly hampered and we had to make arrangements that cost us about $1000 extra and lost us considerable time. LakeTime Boat Rentals seems to just be getting going and I hope they mature as a business. However, do you want to put your faith in a company that bails on you and leaves you high and dry? 1. The older male (Tammy's Husband?) became verbally combative in a discussion about damages to their equipment. He spent his first 15 minutes onsite telling us the horrors of damages to HIS JetSkis. Each time ending his particular story about how that damage was "not covered by insurance". Apparently (according to husband), the only thing covered by their recommended insurance was being run over by another boat from behind. 2. In speaking with Tammy during contracting, any damage is covered by the insurance - but of course the deductible applies. I opted for the insurance and took a $1000 deductible (meaning I pay out of pocket for any damages below that amount). Again, Tammy was both pleasant and professional. 3. On a couple of different occasions during drop off, Husband kept saying this or that was not covered. Towards the end, he said he was worried about our location on the lake and wake turbulence damaging his JetSkis. For the third time, he asked if I would take responsibility for some undefined tragedy that resulted from wind or waves or whatnot. I joked back to him that I had purchased the insurance so that would have to cover it. He responded that that kind of damage was not covered by insurance. He did not appreciate my joke and like the Soup Nazi told me "No JetSkis for you!" 4. Finally, in an attempt to get over this whole issue, I asked him what was his real concern and tried to offer solutions to his worry about his RENTAL equipment. On every occasion, he would interrupt and would raise his voice. I actually told him that I was NOT trying to fight with him, just to understand his position. In the end, I also became frustrated by his obstinance and promised this review ... a promise I am keeping. He in turn, promised to "handle" my review. So, they took their JetSkis and PaddleBoard equipment and left (taking some of our safety equipment by mistake - which they returned the next day). They left us high and dry (literally) adding grief to our vacation plans. I would strongly encourage using someone else until LakeTime Rentals gets more experience on how to deal with customers and run a business and keep their word. They get a 1-Star because I would, under no circumstances, risk a vacation on them again.

Yelp shows Lake LBJ Resort & Marina, their website is lakelbjfun.com and at the top of their website it says Lake LBJ Marina and Country Club. This run down place is neither a "resort" nor "country club". When we first pulled up we were a little concerned but headed inside anyway since it was our daughters birthday and we had 4 teenagers super excited about tubing. Reeked of cigarettes inside so I asked my husband, "before we rent can we go and look at the boats". We went outside to the small dock and looked at two boats side by side, one was very decent looking and the other was HORRIBLE! A guy yells down at us from the bar area, we asked which boat was for us? He points to the run down nasty looking boat that had very moldy seats, dirty towels on board, torn back seat and dirty floors. I pointed to the boat and said "this one"? He responded yes, and I repeated "this one, not the other?" He raised his voice and said "I am just going to cancel you, it is obvious from your questions you will not be satisfied". He continued yelling at us saying if we wanted to rent a $300,000 boat for $300 we were crazy and should just buy our own boat". Absurd that a business owner would say such a thing. I admit my response was poor (with my shock and dismay getting the better of me), I replied "we have a boat a**hole (fuel pump broken) so we know how a boat should look". As we were leaving he continued ranting and raving to anyone within ear shot. He then called me an a**hole to which my husband then stepped in and the guy shut up. I don't know how this place is still in business and I mean that with all sincerity. To say that their equipment is "painstakingly maintained" is a blatant lie! Went to another rental place by Horseshoe Bay and got a nice, CLEAN boat with very friendly and polite staff.
