There were 12 of us and we rented a 23 foot pontoon and two jet skis for five hours. We have rented from other companies in the Kingsland area and this one was by far the most professional and reliable. Josh really took the time to go over the map with us and let us know the places to go and the places to avoid. Joshua was awesome and so was Kenny from that booking process through to the very very end they were wonderful! As long as you arrive 30 minutes ahead of time to go through the safety briefing then your boat or jet skis will be ready for you to depart at your schedule time! Highly recommend! We've rented the same yellow Tahoe speed boat a couple of times from Wave Chasers. Once just my wife and I then the following summer we took all of our kids and our dog. Wave Chasers were very accommodating showing us how everything worked and putting us into the lake. We enjoyed the day out on the Colorado River so much and cruising down to the Lake LBJ so much we signed up for a 2nd day! We will definitely come visit them again. The speedboat was clean, easy to drive/handle on the water and the sounds system had been upgraded. We really enjoyed our time on LBJ. Thanks for a great time for our family to make memories. We rented a pontoon boat and a jet ski from Wave Chasers in June 2024. Both were picked up and delivered on time to our lake house. They are very much open for business, and mentioned are getting busier and busier - so book early. Scheduling - this is antiquated as you have to call in to get on the books, but the people that answer are knowledgeable and patient - so it was still a good experience. Pricing - VERY transparent, it's right on their website and no surprise fees. Staff - very personable and friendly. Set us up for a day of success through the booking process and day of. Location - they can drop the boat in other lakes (Inks, HSB), otherwise there is a dock at the end of their street that is very private and room to park all day (even on weekends). Loading/unloading was very convenient as the single dock is so close. We chose to use this one as the drive to/from was closest and drove to HSB in around 60 mins. Boat quality - we went with the newest one and it was in fairly good shape. Not a lot of HP, but it was fun to spend the day cruising and enjoying the sun. Wouldn't recommend tubing/boarding behind the pontoon fleet. Highly recommend the company, and will be back next time. read more

The other company in Kingsland called to say that "our jet ski" had been totaled that we planned to rent the next day. I called Wave Chasers, and they worked hard to accommodate us. Blaze did a great job helping us with an extension of the rental. Renting the Sea-Doo was a highlight of our trip! read more

The boat arrived without a charged battery. A new boat was then delivered 45 minutes later. We were not compensated for the lost hour of our time sitting and waiting around. The ladder bungy cord was very frayed and broke without our knowledge causing the ladder to fall and get stuck in the mud and bent when backing up. This is a very small detail to see on the precheck before you take out their boat and sign off on it. If they would have had the integrity and replaced the bungy cord properly before we took out the boat this never would have happened. I now have to pay $420 to replace the ladder, which will be in better shape than I received it. This was not handled professionally as they would not take any responsibility for the broken bungy causing the issue. Unprofessional and not worth the risk. Will never rent from again. read more

We recently rented a pontoon from Wave Chasers, though the experience started out great, the level of service that we received the day of was less than satisfactory. I wish we would have paid more attention to their "policies" because they have set policies that basically allow them to protect their poor services and are representative of their lower price point.  To start, we booked with them for a half day rental for a weekend at the lake. Like any travel situation we checked the weather, when the forecast called for rain, we contacted them days before our visit for their inclement weather policy (you can see the email we received RE: the policy in the attached photo). In their reply email there is discussion of a refund if there was rain, along with the inclusion of their formal policy at the bottom, but we were assured they would work with us according to the specific email discussion. We felt no need to worry as they seemed to accommodate any bad weather. (What the email did not include was their policy that if a boat was delivered, any potential refund would be forfeited. I found this out today while looking at the FAQ page) We called again the night before to make sure that the information given to us in the email still stood and to check and see what they thought about the forecast, they assured us we were good to go. Hindsight being 20/20 it makes sense why they called the morning of to confirm delivery, after all if the boat was delivered, we forfeited our refund. After we confirmed, the boat hands whom were delivering the boat, showed up to our dock 20 mins late and unprepared. The boat did not have an anchor, and while it is not a necessity (?!?!) we asked them to go get us one. The boat hands told us that all the other boats had an anchor and were not sure why ours didn't. It took an additional 30 mins for them to return with an anchor and 10 mins to get us ready to depart, we asked to make sure that we could get refunded or given an additional hour for the hour we waited, the boys said yes. Come to find out, written in the companies policy that "no refund is given for late arrival," again, I came across this today, not too sure how we were not entitled to the time that we paid for. About an 30 mins into our day on the lake, it started pouring rain. We headed back to the dock and called Wave Chasers to have them come pick the boat up and asked about our refund, as it was raining and based off of our correspondence with them, we would be given one. We were told that since the boat was in our possession we would be charged as so. After calling again we were told that we would he charged over half of what we paid, and that "[they] went and bought us an anchor when the didn't have to" & "were doing us a favor by refunding any of our rental"  Bottom line, the owners (Jen and Josh) were rude over the phone and seemed to put the blame on us. We understand they are trying to run a small business, all we wanted was good service and for them to meet the standards that they alluded to. If you want a cheaper rental rate, go with them,  just make sure you're all in and ready for less than par customer service. read more

Rented a boat for mine and a friends birthday weekend. We rented it from 1-5 on a Saturday. We got a call Friday saying our rental would have to be changed due to the fact that the boat we were supposed to have had a collapsed engine. We were also told that they would give us the new boat from 5:30 PM to 10 AM and that they would give us a free tube. When we arrived we were told we would be charged an additional $80 for having the boat over night. ( which was a huge "favor" to us considering how long they were letting us have the boat. ) We were slightly confused and decided to call and got on the phone( with Krista I believe). Simply asking why we were being charged an extra fee when we didn't want the boat over night and she was extremely rude and kept saying they were doing us a favor. When I asked her why she was upset and being so rude she just kept saying that if we have a problem then that we don't need the boat. That once again they were doing us a "favor". We were simply asking for clarity on to why we were being charged extra for something that wasn't our fault ? We finally got on the boat at 5:50 and the sun went down around 8:45. ( so we had about 3 hours on the boat vs the 4 hours we rented and paid for plus the $80 extra fee ) to then find out we didn't have lights on the boat. After guiding the boat back in the dark we docked. Very thankful for (Brandon I believe ) for being so accommodating and meeting us back down to help doc the boat and for going out of his way and above and beyond to accommodate us. Let me be clear. We were in no way expecting something for free or a discount. We appreciate the free tube, however the extra $80 upcharge along with being yelled at several times by the employee was extremely disappointing. read more

We have rented equipment from Josh at Wave Chasers for 6 years in a row, and I simply wouldn't have it any other way. Equipment - Their equipment is top notch, and performs beyond expectations. Service - Unmatched in this industry. If we ever have a problem with the equipment (most of the time it was our fault), the Wave Chasers team has a replacement unit to us within 30 minutes (no questions asked). POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, POORLY MAINTAINED EQUIPMENT. I was camping at Inks Lake over father's day weekend. Rented a jet ski for all day on Saturday June 17th. The ski was to be delivered at 10 am, at 10:10 no one showed, I called the company and they had forgotten about me. Ski showed up at about 10:50. They were kind enough to give me extra time on the back end of the rental to make up for them being late. The ski functioned ok, but had a broken reverse handle and a broken latch on the main compartment. I was told that both things broke the day before. I asked for a different ski, but was told it would take at least another hour before another ski could be delivered. read more

At this point I've used them twice-- once last year when I rented one pontoon and this past weekend we had a large enough group we needed two. RENTERS BEWARE!! We called them to get a rental rate from Saturday morning and to keep it through Sunday around 3pm and we were quoted $668.19. We agreed and had them deliver it to us at our house, after going over the paperwork and correcting their pick up time they left and we went about enjoying LBJ on our boat Saturday and Sunday. We went and filled the boat up and returned to meet the pick up crew at the docks and went about enjoying our weekend. Monday I received an email invoice opened it and was SHOCKED at the charges. I went ahead and called them and asked why the difference and the "manager" said he would call me back. When he did he explained the charges and when I questioned the difference he explained that the guy who quoted me originally was new (not my problem). I personally own a business and when an employee miss quotes I feel it is not the consumers problem but the businesses problem for lack of training!I asked for them to correct it but they haven't so now they get to deal with my credit card company. WE WILL NEVER RENT FROM THEM AGAIN!!! read more

Used Wave Chasers to rent a 22' Pontoon boat this past Saturday on Lake LBJ. The boat was beautiful, in great shape and easy to handle on the water. We comfortably had 5 adults and 4 kids on board with room to spare. Despite not giving Wave Chasers the requested 24 hour notice for a boat rental (given it was the offseason), the owner quickly responded to our request and got a boat in the water for us within one hour of our call. He was very responsive when we called to say we returning the boat early, met us at the dock and got us on our way quickly. I highly recommend Wave Chasers for boat rentals on Lake LBJ. read more

Stay away!! I rented a pontoon Saturday. The guy showed up with a boat making noise. He got it to stop and said to call if there were any problems. It beeped nonstop the entire way trying to get it back to the dock..screaming, crying, scared toddler onboard. Had a boat full of people and he put them on a small 8 passenger boat. It was docked two hours later. 4 people didn't even get to get on the boat. They picked it up that night and said they fired the guy that brought the pontoon to us. They charged my card $335 for a service we didn't even get! I've sent two emails trying to get the charge reversed. No response. Worst experience. Beware! read more
