Had the absolute best day of fishing with the kids ever! There was a lot of plant growth around the house but with the googan frog it posed very few if any challenges outside the crappie house and inside was absolute magic . Was so grateful for the experience. Went back again at end of summer break and learned it was shut down indefinitely. If it ever opens again would love to bring the kids back , but respect the decision of the owner. The bait shop and cabins and location are simply awesome !

He told us he would be open for 15 more minutes so we rushed to a gas station got cash and we were back within eight minutes. Got caught in a severe wind storm one night, which blew our canopy down so we had to get up at midnight in the rain to secure but Parkwise it was a great place. Very busy but sites are large so that helps a lot. Bathrooms are the best we've seen in Texas - clean, hot water, great water pressure, fully stocked. Beautiful lake with fishing, and kayak, canoes and paddleboars to rent. Lots of birds and great hiking among boulders and rocks. Will come back on future trips.

It was deeply embedded into the chairs and mattresses. It absorbed into all our clothes and sleeping bags and stuff sitting in there two days. After coming home our stuff is been in the garage a day and the smell is so potent the garage smells like faint smoke from airing out. If smells bother you even slightly, avoid that cabin at all costs. Not sure if others smell like it now too, and a bunch of jerks have just chain smoked in all cabins or just this one.

He threw in a couple of extra things for us which probably didn't cost him much but made us super happy. The add-on items we wanted were taken care of at a fair price, professionally installed and done in a timely manner. Took the boat in for a fairly sizeable list of mostly minor issues. All taken care of free and to our satisfaction (with the exception of the bait wells but that is manufacturer issue! They did a work around and resolved it for us). Now 3 years later we are doing some upgrades to our electronics with a few other tweaks. Friendly folks providing excellent service at a fair price again. What more could you ask for?

There is nothing wrong with this place, just not that interesting to visit. It is a warm water hatchery with lots of earthen ponds to raise the fish in. There is a nice set of informational signs and possibly at some time of year there might be fingerlings in the inside tanks. You can't feed them and you can't see them. So, if you decide to go, just don't make any promises of seeing fish. :)

We had a blast and caught big fish. Mike and Annette are the Consummate hosts. They are so sweet , kind and helpful. Mike is THE Man. He helped us so much, right down to baking soda. Ha! Great place,Great hosts.You won't go wrong here either way u decide to stay. Can't wait to get back.

Just 2 people for 1 night, no coffee supplied for the coffee pot, we were expected to strip our bed and take our trash out on top of that. The "S'mores" kit was a cute touch, 2 small packages of graham crackers, 4 large marshmallows but guessing 4 people are supposed to split the 1 Hersheys candy bar provided. Thinking I need to get a job as their cleaning crew! Rip off! Annette & Mike, the managers were very nice though.

What a rip-off! This week I had two jetskis serviced at the new Full Throttle Seadoo place in…read moreKingsland. All that was done was an oil change and replacing three spark plugs. The bill came to $863.13 or $432 per jetski!! For an oil change which takes 3.5 quarts of oil and a filter! The parts came to about $112, the rest was for labor at $170 an hour plus shop supplies, hazardous waste charge (oil), and credit card fee (3.5%). And by the way, it took this Master mechanic (at $170 he must top-of-the line) 1.5 hours to do this oil change! Incidentally, I looked at an old 2023 bill, when the exact same mechanic changed the oil in the exact same jetskis and it took him 1.2 hours per jetski then. And of course the hourly rate was a lot cheaper back then too (37% cheaper), but it's different ownership now when Full Throttle took over from Highland Lakes Seadoo. I guess they had to increase the time the mechanic worked on these jetskis or raise the labor rate even more to get more money in, but how much more than $170 per hour are you going to charge for a guy doing a basic oil change? Or perhaps the mechanic is slowing down in his old age, who knows? My advice? Perhaps it pays to look for a different place. By the way, all the positive reviews (with the exception of one) are about Highland Lakes Seadoo, which were the previous owners. I liked that place. The new ownership has turned greedy.

We rented a jet ski + tube for the day and the process was very easy. We were very disappointed in…read morethe tube though as within ten minutes of use (in the water), we saw it was deflating and taking on water. We lifted it up onto the dock to keep it safe and help drain the water out. We chose not to get upset/demand a refund because of the cheap rental price ($10). Unfortunately, we were charged over $200 for the deflated tube when all was said and done. We were accused of being on it on dry land, which was not the case. The gentleman who rented it to us no longer would respond to texts after charging our credit card. Very disappointing. This place may be cheaper but if anything goes wrong....you will be paying more than you expected.
