What a rip-off! This week I had two jetskis serviced at the new Full Throttle Seadoo place in…read moreKingsland. All that was done was an oil change and replacing three spark plugs. The bill came to $863.13 or $432 per jetski!! For an oil change which takes 3.5 quarts of oil and a filter! The parts came to about $112, the rest was for labor at $170 an hour plus shop supplies, hazardous waste charge (oil), and credit card fee (3.5%). And by the way, it took this Master mechanic (at $170 he must top-of-the line) 1.5 hours to do this oil change! Incidentally, I looked at an old 2023 bill, when the exact same mechanic changed the oil in the exact same jetskis and it took him 1.2 hours per jetski then. And of course the hourly rate was a lot cheaper back then too (37% cheaper), but it's different ownership now when Full Throttle took over from Highland Lakes Seadoo. I guess they had to increase the time the mechanic worked on these jetskis or raise the labor rate even more to get more money in, but how much more than $170 per hour are you going to charge for a guy doing a basic oil change? Or perhaps the mechanic is slowing down in his old age, who knows? My advice? Perhaps it pays to look for a different place. By the way, all the positive reviews (with the exception of one) are about Highland Lakes Seadoo, which were the previous owners. I liked that place. The new ownership has turned greedy.

The owners Luann and Joe are extremely nice, and they seem to really care about you as a person. On top of that, they are both very knowledgeable about everything boat related and can often tell you a solution off the top of their heads. Even though I felt the carb work on our boat was more expensive than I would have imagined (or liked), I did think the pricing overall was pretty fair. This is our first boat, so I'm not well in-tune with that world. Both Joe and Luann were also kind enough to show us around our boat once we told them it's is our first one. They had great invaluable pointers. If you're looking for a down to Earth place where you'll be face-to-face with the owners, Buchanan Boat Works is a great place to take your boat. I totally recommend it!

He rushed to austin to pick up check and did NOTHING TO BOAT. I am going to press charges for theft of service as he won't return calls at all. Just some garbled me I have had the boat repaired by others and it was confirmed he did nothing to the boat and still won't call us back. I'm gonna have do small claims Court to get $750 back what a pain in the tail.

Once with a pontoon boat and the other time with 2 jet skis. They were great at offering tips on where to go on the Colorado River and Lake LBJ. They also took the time to explain everything. The dock guys were great. Really friendly and wanted us to have a great time. The pontoon had a small issue where it wouldn't restart in the middle of the lake. But I called them and they walked me through a few things to try and we got it restarted within 10 minutes. They were already on their way to help us. We got a text with our total fuel used within 30 minutes of checking the boats in. Didn't have to wait around for anything. Just stepped off the boats and go. Would definitely rent from these guys again!!!!

I called in last night to inquire about a boat rental, I got prices and information on what we would need to rent the boat, which was a drivers license and a credit card, and you had to be born before September 1993. All requirements my husband meets. We headed out this morning and everything was going great, we decided on the boat we wanted, handed over our license and credit card. Our total was well over 1000 dollars which we were ok with. The two men at the front desk were very nice and helping us through the process when the lady from the office "manager" steps out and says she is not allowed to rent to someone who speaks Spanish. I ask what she means by this and she again says she can't rent to some one who can't comprehend English. Yes my husband doesn't not speak English fluently but can comprehend and read it well enough to rent a boat! She stated it's written policy from the insurance which when I asked her to see this written she hid in her office and handed one of the men a sticky note with the insurance information. of course a 1800 number that is closed during the weekend. I really feel bad for the owner of this business because as a business owner my self I know how bad a bad employee can have an influence on a paying customer. I thought racism was a thing of the past especially in area known or advertised for tourism. (Also I did speak to a few agents at Markel the insurance company and they stated that this was not part of their policy, and much rather had to do with the manager or owner of the store we were renting from)
