The course is beautiful, with a manageable front and long back 9 (6500 yrs) from the middle tees. The course is open and even high handicap golfers will not lose many balls; there are really only a few spots on the course that are truly out of bounds. The staff is typically very friendly, Jeremy who manages the bag room is particularly nice. The pros are all great too. The whole place is well maintained, as they do host PGA (junior/womens) events from time to time. The greens play very fast towards the end of summer, and some of them slope in ways that will really frustrate anyone. Price-wise, the place is on the upper end if you have no college affiliation (about 140 or so) but is exceptionally cheap for students (35 dollars) so definitely a place to visit if you are in the area and still in school. The course truly cannot be recommended enough, and it offers some exceptional views of both the Williams College campus and the surrounding areas.

Its buried in the woods in my home town of South Hadley, MA. The course is private, so you'll need to know a member to get on. Its fairly expensive even if you do. If you end up playing here, though, you'll be treated to one of the best 18 holes you can play in Massachusetts. This course is very well maintained, and very challenging. There are almost no holes that you can survive with an innacurate tee shot. The course itself is very long, and has difficult shots around its very protected greens. The course was designed by Donald Ross, and you can see some of his trademark elements still in the design. If you' have enough money to become a member here, I would seriously consider it.

Biggest complaint is that most greens had been aerated and had customary sand throughout. But due to greens not being rolled there were small tufts of grass patches on a number of them. Strange I never knew this course existed until a friend invited me to play both North and South courses on one day. Overall it was fun. I played the South course much better than the slightly more difficult North. I'll blame it on being tired. It was a long day made needlessly longer. Both courses are in pretty good shape. The greens had quite a bit of undulation to them, but they ran true. Fairways were also in decent shape. It was a nice day of golf, but made long by poor course scheduling management. We prebooked our 3 tee slots, there were 12 of us. The morning round went off without a hitch. We were scheduled to go off the second round on the North course between 1 and 1:30, about an hour or so after the 1st round. When we completed the morning South course round, the pro informed us there would be a little delay as they had a scramble tournament in progress on the North and they were running slow. Nearly 2 hours later, and little communication, we were still waiting. I'm sure they run many scramble tournaments do it amazes me that thry misjudged completion so badly. We finally did tee off and got the round in as dusk was approaching. I then had an hour and a half ride home to a pissed off wife and disappointed grandson

A good flow and enough things to keep your child entertained while you play... yup, my 3 yr-old only lasted 2 putts before losing her concentration and start cheating and play with things on the course. Warning - they only have portal potty - so if you hate these like I do, try to have an empty bladder before you come!
