The fresh pretzels are SO GOOD. Loved the butter served with them too.

German restaurants are known for jovial atmospheres, cheap beer, and large portions, and Watzke didn't disappoint in any of these respects. We were drawn to this lively restaurant in Dresen based on the huge crowd of locals waiting to get inside. Once we were able to grab a table (not an easy feat), the fun began. This place was super loud and raucous, with someone playing the piano in the corner and drunk patrons singing along loudly. It was perfect! We ordered some pretzels, beer, a schnitzel and the special of the day, a beef roast. The food arrived promptly and was very good. The portion sizes were huge and the prices fair. Bring your language book so you can translate the menu and communicate with the servers! I can't think of anything I didn't like about this restaurant. A great place to dine when visiting Dresden.

We passed this place on the way to our hotel and were happy we did. They make their own beer and it was the best beer we had in Germany. The food was good too. I had 2 pork knuckles while in Germany. The first one was in Berlin and deep fried all over. This one, the skin was not deep fried like the other, but still very good. If you ever had a turkey leg at Disneyland, this tastes like that. My brother ordered a sausage that he said was good. The sauerkraut was delicious. First we tried their special red colored beer. It was very good. Then we got a beer for take away which was the July special Hefeweizen. Wow. It finished with this delicious creamy banana flavor. It was so good we purposely went to another one of their locations the next night and I ordered a litre! Prices were reasonable and if you sit outside it has a nice view.

Großes schnitzel with potato salad and cole slaw.

Food was horrible, waiter acted like he didn't want to be there. But then had the nerve to ask for tip afterward.

WIFI is available for guests. Ask the staff for the password. Day 1 - We arrived here on foot after the Hansel and Gretel opera. No reservation was required and they seated us promptly. We sat at a nice table with a tablecloth and candle. They lit our candle and it was very romantic. Food: got the German 2 white sausages with pretzel and sweet German mustard. It was a good price at roughly 8 euros. I asked for a side of sauerkraut and the waiter said of course. When I got the bill the sauerkraut was 5 euros. The pretzel arrived early and it was delicious and I dipped it into my sweet mustard. The white sausages arrived later in a bowl of boiling hot water. I just picked it out and placed it on my plate and then threw the other sausage back into the boiling water to keep it warm. The white sausage is a very little taste with specks of green running through it. It is a "light" gentle sausage. The sauerkraut was delicious! The dish needed a veggie and I am glad that I ordered it. The gentle sausage with the cabbage and tang and sweetness played perfectly together. Beer: They had 4 beers on tap. I got the large dunkel (dark beer) and it was delicious and earthly. Cleanliness: average
