Came in for dinner with my family. The yelp reviews were spot on. The garlic bread was amazing. I have the roast beef with red cabbage and potato dumplings. It was absolutely amazing.! The service was also good. I don't think you'll be disappointed here.

So generous with the chanterelles but kinda stingy with the Parmesan. My Aperol spritz was unbalanced and not well made. The service was ok. I'd go again and give them another chance.

We ate a delicious, relaxed late lunch here. Food was very tasty and at good value, and service was friendly. We had several varieties of crepes and bruchetta (daily special). Fresh, shady patio was great on a hot afternoon. Menu had a lot of variety and several vegetarian options.

Had a very enjoyable dinner here. This is a relatively small and cosy restaurant next to the Kreuzkirche. I was having an early dinner, so the restaurant was a little quiet without many patrons. I had a very good dark beer with the sauerbraten. The dish was quite good, and the blend of the tender beef and tart red cabbage was a nice contrast in taste. The potato dumplings were also quite good, and a nice touch was supplied by the excellent duck fat that they added a little bit of on the dumplings. Service was very good during the quiet time that I was there. I would try this restaurant again, but I think I would want to try one of their specialties with duck.

I was in Dresden for two days and came to this restaurant four times I think. Their garlic bread is absolutely life changing, best garlic bread I have ever had. I came back specifically for that. The other food I had there was great too. I had the vegetable beef soup, the vegetable crepe, and brocoli with cauliflower gratin bake dish. Needless to say the servers were very kind. The atmosphere was quiet and respectful. Would go back whole heartedly, and to get that bread!

    Delicious duck, so good

We had a great dinner tonight. We started with two large Budweisers, great Czech beer accompanied by goose duck fat, pickles and onions. The potato soup was so delicious, sausage, and shredded carrots. Our main courses duck leg with Brussels sprouts and dumplings, and spaetzle with kraut, sausage and broiled cheese on top. Everything was so good, warm spot on a rainy night, service was excellent. Perfect spot to start our visit in Dresden.

Awesome place. Local place w beautiful interior and nice courtyard. Wide array of local dishes and the drinks are great. Had the duck fat starter and sauerbraten along w a couple beers. Staff was responsive and I ordered mostly in English. Highly recommend.

    Delicious garlic bread.

Stopped in here on the basis of a recommendation from a friend who is obsessed with the garlic bread. I am happy to say that it lived up to the very high expectations that she set. It was perfectly crunchy on the outside yet chewy on the inside. We also had the crispy duck with brussels sprouts and bread dumplings. The duck and brussels sprouts were great but coming from the Czech Republic, the bread dumplings were nothing to write home about. I would go back just for the garlic bread alone!

We only went for a drink and to check it out. But when I went to the bathroom I walked by the kitchen and poked my head in, what the chef was cooking up looked and smelled incredible! All 5 of us ordered a dish. Every single entrée was amazing. Best food I've had in Germany. The chef came to our table to see if we liked everything, we asked him what was in the cucumber dill salad (it was amazing) and with his thick German accent he told us the ingredients and how to make it. This guy can cook! And he was really nice. I seriously want to go back this morning to eat breakfast but they don't open until 5pm! About the bar. Great vibe. Very cute and helpful bar tender, she was great, fast, we always had a beer in front of you! Only bad thing, I hate the smell of cigarette smoke and it's a smoking bar. I'd of eaten outside but it was cold! It's an awesome place if you want to smoke indoors. Great find in Dresden! A MUST for food not just a drink.

I'd pretty much given up hope of finding a decent cocktail in this city until I got a tip to give…read morethis place a try. Located upstairs in the Melia Innside Hotel, on a side street off of Neumarkt in the Altstadt, it's not the kind of place you'd just stumble upon. If you can manage to find it though, you'll be glad you did. The space is small and cozy, with a surprise view of the Frauenkirche (well, the top of it at least), which makes it a great spot to settle in as the sun goes down. The decor is a little dated, but it's dark and usually busy enough that you don't notice much anyways. In some ways, it's a reflection of one of the things I like most about this city. Enjoyment of restaurants, bars, and nightlife is not solely the domain of "the beautiful people". There are so many places in larger cities where you might feel out of place if you aren't dressed a certain way or have a certain "look." Here, you can raise a glass with locals, tourists, students, young professionals, retirees, business travelers, opera patrons, those out for a hot night on the town, and everyone in between. But what about the drinks? I haven't tried every drink in this place, but from what I've experienced, there should be something for everyone and every mood. If you've got something specific in your mind, staff will be happy to make it for you or create something based on what you're feeling like. The drinks on the menu offer something for everyone though. If you're looking to stay fairly classic, the Manhattan, Sazeroni, and Sazerac Cocktail are all solid choices. The Point of View, Greek Manhattan, Barrel-Aged Sloe Gin Negroni, and Royal Bermuda Yacht Club Cocktail are a bit lighter, but interesting enough to keep you sipping in order to figure out their exact ingredients--no cheating by looking in the menu! The Gin Basil Smash, Honey Thyme Sour, Hib & Rita and classic Cosmopolitan are all great starting points for anyone feeling less adventurous or who isn't quite sure what they are looking for in a drink. The Peche gehabt, Creme Brulee Martini, and Plums (not something I'd typically order, but perfect on a chilly fall or winter evening) are a great choice if you're regretting not having ordered dessert earlier. For a little light-hearted fun, try ordering the Belle, Book, & Candle, or Popp it! If cocktails aren't your thing, you can of course order beer or wine. There's also the nice touch of complimentary lightly infused water and wasabi peanut mix. I haven't ordered food, but I think there are some limited offerings that can be sent up from one of the restaurants in the hotel. Just a note to those who are smoke sensitive (or smokers): around 11pm or so, smoking is allowed. It's possible that this has changed or will change, but thought I'd mention it since it's a dealbreaker for some.

We somehow ended up trying almost everything on the menu. Some standouts to me were the lapsang (Smokey tea drink), the edible Negroni which was a Negroni with deconstructed elements that you can mix and match which was really interesting, and the martini was great as well. They had some really interesting gins there. One of the gins I tried was some Estonia which was pretty cool. She made my martini with a Finnish gin which I have had many times and is a really good one. The sauerkraut drink and the coffee drink were really interesting. Not sure if the coffee drink worked and I think I prefer a different liquor like vodka or tequila for an espresso martini. The sauerkraut was kind of funky and a bit weird as well. But it is a nod to Germany so I liked how they had that on the menu. Free popcorn all night with a nice curry flavor spice on it. This was a pretty expensive bar but a nice option if you're going out. Also, apparently a reservation is recommended but we were able to get seats at the bar. We were supposed to leave at 9:30 but they were able to seat the other group somewhere else so we could stay at our seats which was pretty nice. The bathroom is in the hotel, but are doing renovations so you have to ask for a keycard to go up to the fifth floor to use the bathroom there. A bit inconvenient but the place is super nice so it's not that bad.
