Cold plate - assorted charcuterie, cheeses, gherkins

Great spot located at the Tashenberpalais Hotel. Good menu chock full of German classics. Hubs ordered the beef roulade, I ordered the pesto spaghetti, and we shared the cold plate (assorted charcuterie, cheeses, gherkins, etc.). Good stuff. A few notes: they do allow outdoor smoking, so just be aware you may be exposed to it, although you'll be outside, and we showed up around 6:45, and it was still busy (no wait for a table though), but by the time we finished, about an hour later, we were one of the only ones left! Would most definitely come back again if I found myself in this part of town.

We went for lunch during a weekday and made a reservation. It probably was not necessary as there was very few people seated inside and downstairs in the main dining room. They have a very pretty carousel which rotates so the children can eat at and be entertained while they slowly spin clockwise around the carousel. We made a lunch reservation for three people at 1 PM and showed up a little bit early and there was no problem going directly to our table. The wait staff is extremely friendly and efficient and are dressed in clothing relevant to the era befitting the establishment. It was a great experience and we will go back!

Terrific experience on Saturday night! I came @10pm and was immediately seated by a lovely host who immediately light up three candles on our table. We then where given a menu that's translated into English, Russian and Chinese. I ordered house-wine and my partner decided to go with dark beer. The waitress was kind enough to let us try beer + lemonade drink free of charge. The mineral water comes out in a cute bottles that definitely added to the atmosphere. While we waited for food there were live German music by two ladies playing drum and guitar. This definitely added bonus point to the place. The interior decor is amazing and I would advise you to experience it yourself. The food was great and their bread basket worth every euro cent spent.

We have been all over Germany for almost 19 days.. This town is last place of stop before going back to Berlin to head back home.. This restaurant is awesome.. If you are in this town I would most definitely recommend this place.. The ambience, food, and service are excellent. One of the best German food I've eaten since I've been here. The service was bar none..

What a fun restaurant. I think it really caters to tourists and it does a good job of it. The restaurant ambiance is really fun - very German including servers wearing costumes and a roving musician. The servers smile and are very nice. The food was great. We had suckling pig with a potato dumpling, bread with schmaltz and a soup. It was admittedly a heavy meal but that's what we were seeking in coming here. Would I come back here? Yes, in a heartbeat.

Interior looks just a bit like a tourist trap...

As touristic as it gets, frankly I wouldn't have done this without the good people of Yelp telling me it's worth my time... Kartoffel soup (large) costed 8.90€. It was actually quite decent, certainly better than in some other places catering for tourists. Size of the meal was good, soup & bread offered with it filled my stomach. Weissbeer could have been better, though. Would I return? Probably not as there are likely 10 other restaurants doing the traditional German stuff better. However, if you are here with 20 friends who haven't been in Dresden or Germany before I'm sure it's a very enjoyable event. So it's not bad even though I only gave three stars

The translation of the Chinese menu is fun. At last I still don't know what is Diwangwan, which is the huge potato mash look food beside the beef.

Roast pork. I substituted carrots for sauerkraut.

It's touristy. But very fun. Air conditioned. Food was very good! Had the roast pork and they knew what they were doing. Pricing was on par with Berlin. For good prong you would have to leave old town and go to new town. They nicely accommodate food allergies. I had a good lunch and time. Recommended.

Loved the atmosphere in the restaurant!! Very unique and enjoyable!! Food was also very delicious. Would definitely recommend to eat here if you're in Dresden

Stayed here for two nights, and we have our dinner in this restaurant every day. We were seated outside the first evening and inside the second night, the plates are all great, the decorations are perfect! We decided to try again inside, although the service outside is not good. There are two different kitchens, so in different area the served menu is different. In on words, worth to try.

Service was ok, we didn't know If we were supposed to ask to be seated so didn't feel so welcome at the beginning. But I had the baked sweet potato with sautéed mushrooms on top and it was delicious and filling! Of course I had to taste hubbys crispy skinned pork which was a bit fatty but was good.

You have to go all the way in to nearly where the inner tables are located. The buffet is located in the middle of the restaurant, big groups are set in the back room, and small groups are in the front. I got the Saftig gegrilltes Spanferkel (juicy suckling pig) and Sächsischer Sauerbraten (Saxony Saurbraten - like a slow cooked beef). Both dishes came with a specified cabbage side, and potato ball. The juicy pig was definitely the better of the two and included slices of the crispy skin, and fatty insides. In the end, there was too much food for us to finish. Cute decor, but as with most tourist traps - not really worth the price.

WIFI is available for guests. Ask the staff for the password. Day 1 - We arrived here on foot after the Hansel and Gretel opera. No reservation was required and they seated us promptly. We sat at a nice table with a tablecloth and candle. They lit our candle and it was very romantic. Food: got the German 2 white sausages with pretzel and sweet German mustard. It was a good price at roughly 8 euros. I asked for a side of sauerkraut and the waiter said of course. When I got the bill the sauerkraut was 5 euros. The pretzel arrived early and it was delicious and I dipped it into my sweet mustard. The white sausages arrived later in a bowl of boiling hot water. I just picked it out and placed it on my plate and then threw the other sausage back into the boiling water to keep it warm. The white sausage is a very little taste with specks of green running through it. It is a "light" gentle sausage. The sauerkraut was delicious! The dish needed a veggie and I am glad that I ordered it. The gentle sausage with the cabbage and tang and sweetness played perfectly together. Beer: They had 4 beers on tap. I got the large dunkel (dark beer) and it was delicious and earthly. Cleanliness: average
