At ~150 a night, it's very reasonably priced, and the experience is far more friendly than your typical motel experience. They have early check in and late checkout available for a very reasonable fee, and a log book full of all sorts of recs for activities/restaurants in the area. It's obvious how much the owners care about and take pride in this establishment, and I'd definitely recommend it if you are ever in the area. I would certainly return.

I'm so glad I ended up staying at Fox Hill b&b, even though there were hotels closer to my race. Charlie and Julie acquired the place during the pandemic, and they're seriously killing it. Grounds. Absolutely gorgeous. The b&b is on a large stretch of land and there's plenty of small mown grass paths to explore and walk around. Mountains around, and of course close by to some legit hiking trails which I hope to hit in the future. Rooms. All I can say is that the pictures don't quite do them justice. Yes, they're quaint. I think I was expecting the rooms to "feel" older, but there were so many cute details, and everything looked new and very well kept. The bed and couch (where I may have watched like 2 hours of qvc) were comfy. They have a few rooms, two with kitchens. We got a kitchen room, and my parents got a non-kitchen room. Both with beautiful views of the grounds. The kitchen was well equipped, literally with everything that I needed (pots, saucepans, strainers, cutlery, bunch of different sized bowls/plates/mugs, etc.). There were also a lot of nice little touches, like drinks in the refrigerator that were gulped down immediately after the race or paw wipes for the dog. FOOD. This is the biggie. I've never ever ever have been to a more welcoming b&b. When I booked the room, about half a year in advance, Julie asked about dietary restrictions. I told her that we were vegan, and she asked me what type of milk I liked to drink (oat) and what I thought about vegan muffins/how I made them. I didn't think much about it because I figured she'd forget and we'd do what we always do - bring our milk, bring our food, just eat out of a can (sigh/lol). When we got there, they had bought oat milk, just egg, and had a recipe for vegan muffins for our breakfast. Breakfast was topnotch. A scramble of just egg with lots of veggies, vegan breakfast sausage, potatoes, delicious blueberry muffins, cup of fruit, and coffee with oat milk. Maybe redundant, but Charlie and Julie were also just good people. And there's some self selection it seems, because all other guests were friendly as well. Some other notes: - Dogs allowed in rooms, grounds, but not in main building (where the kitchen is). - There is an outdoor eating area if you're still uncomfortable eating inside (like my mom is). They had large heaters for the outdoor tables. - Check in between 4 - 7 p.m. They like to know when you get there because they set things up for your stay and like to welcome you in.

When we stopped at the front desk registering for our room, I asked if there was entertainment scheduled for the night. She said that we had missed it and there was an entertainer there the previous evening. She called our room a few hours later and said she was mistaken and told us about the evening entertainment which we enjoyed for the night. The atmosphere was very relaxing with a huge walk-in shower and pedestal tub and heated floors. Honestly with the number of dehydration chambers I've stayed in, this one did not have me waking up in the night gasping for water, both of us slept clean through. The night prior you have to fill out what you would like for breakfast the following morning, but this was a great experience, as I didn't have to make any decisions for the morning, just enjoy a fantastically prepared meal. When in Lexington again, we'll be staying here for sure.

I'll take it and hike the stairs to the 3rd floor. It wasn't that difficult at all and the room and view were worth it!! Very happy I decided to come here. In the morning, I had breakfast in the Colonial Dining Room. I ordered Biscuits with County Gravy and 2 scrambled eggs for, I think it was $18. Plus coffee and water. The biscuits and gravy was HUGE!!! another great decision on my part. It needed no extra salt at all which is unusual and I had to get a box Togo for my second biscuit and leftover gravy which is also unusual! I usually eat it all but check my pic. The plate was enormous! I very much enjoyed my stay! Thanks for the room with a view!!!!

horrible, awful and incompetent staff…read more they tried charging me $30 for a pet fee, when their posted website states $15. the staff rudely told me to refer to their wyndham website pet policy. here is a screenshot of their website stating the $15 pet fee. our room was cold, it was 30-40 degrees outside. we had to visit the front desk 4 times before finally having someone check our room and agree it had a broken heat unit. only then, after asking for hours, we were able to get a room with heat. horrendous staff, outdated rooms. do NOT stay here

I also highly recommend the Skyline restaurant on the top floor for good food and superior service. My only negative, and this is not about the hotel, is that Lynchburg seems to be a dying town (and least in the area of the hotel). I never felt unsafe while walking around (the Lower Bluff Walk is nice), but on a Monday afternoon it felt like a ghost town. Nevertheless, if I'm ever again in Lynchburg I would stay here again.

That location is at a lower level. Either location was perfect to eat or drink. We had great service and excellent decor at both. Fish and Chips was one of meals enjoyed on the roof top restaurant , the meal tasted so good it was like it jumped from the water up to that height. The other two had Harvest Salad one with the chicken and I had the grilled shrimp. All I can say it was delicious, nothing left on either plate! Tasha K was our server at the rooftop and I did not catch our other servers name. The whole experience has made us soon to be regulars.

There are wineries, breweries and a distillery. There are places related to history like the Appomattox Courthouse and the D-Day Memorial. There are lots of hiking trails. There are some great restaurants to visit as well. Some that we have been to are Vito's, Mountain Mamas, and Blue Mountain Barrel House. Book a couple nights, you will not regret it!!

I travel with my service dog and the first stay he and I were almost attacked by some random dog. Chased us out the door as it broke away from its careless owner. - if I hadn't snatched my dog up he or I would have been attacked. The owner went on to verbally assault me when I was clearly shaken by this ordeal. The hotel staff care more about making extra money off of allowing careless pet owners and unruly pets to stay ( they up charge the room for pets ) they don't care about anyone's safety. The next stay- we had to listen to someone's HUGE and very loud dog bark incessantly for over an hour. While I listened to the hotel staff call the owner and say if we can help you get settled let us know. No regard for the other people being disturbed by this ill managed dog and stupid owner who left the dog alone in the room!!! I will never ever ever stay here again!!! Let me also add- the first stay had a power outage that lasted several hours during temps in the upper twenties. We were freezing! Pitch black hotel- no apologies- NOTHING!!! Second stay we had to listen to 1:30am -3am blasting music above us! This hotel is horrible!! Pay the extra few dollars and stay elsewhere!!!

The room had all the Hampton amenities including a nice size TV, microwave, mini fridge, iron and full size ironing board, and a coffee maker. The bed was comfortable, and the room had a nice lounge chair. There was plenty of parking, and my room was in the back of the hotel (by the cabin) and the area was quiet and relaxing. The property has a lot of charm, especially the historic Cabin built in the mid-1700s, it catches the attention and is used as a special events space. The main house, Col Alto, is a beautiful Georgian-style brick home dating back to 1827. Both are rich in history and make the stay even more unique. I would absolutely stay here again and hear the historic rooms with bath tubs are the rooms to reserve. I was most pleased with the Kind bed & room.
