I didn't have my roof replaced or repaired, I just needed a section of gutter replaced. Approximately 30ft long, and 30ft up. It had a big hole in one end, and was pulling away from the house. The owner, Robert Watts, came out and gave me an estimate. We discussed a metal fascia for the overhang, or if not metal, there was a board that would need paint if it didn't need to be replaced. I also ask that someone call to let me know when the crew would be coming. I signed the proposal, and two weeks later Terrance Watts shows up at my house to replace my gutter. No phone call, nothing! When I mention this to Terrance, his response "he (Robert) never tells me anything". Well apparently, He (Robert) never tells anyone, anything. So, the crew pulled down the old gutter, and I discussed with Terrance that I did not want the metal fascia up. The boards were in good condition, but one came down with the gutter and needed to be put back up. It is noticeably bare and needed a coat of paint. When they finished I had to point out 2 nails sticking out of the bottom of the wood fascia. I later spoke to Terrance on the phone about the lack of paint on the board they put back. He informed me "the house needed to be painted anyway". And that's all he kept repeating, that was his argument. It's the only BARE board up there, and it stands out as a bare board. He also informed me that painting the board was not on the proposal. I forgot, something so very OBVIOUS, that needs to be done, can't be done because the word 'paint' was never uttered to the man doing the work. The professional workmanship of Terrance Watts is mediocre, at best. Two days later I called a friend of mine, a finish carpenter, to look at the work. His response, "nice gutter, but why didn't they paint that bare board?". No communication, No initiative, No integrity, and No way I would call them for a bigger job. read more
