I have mixed feelings about this company. We recently had a full breakdown of our AC unit. Shania came out and got it working. She explained carefully what the problems were and why we needed a new unit and got us a cost. She was professional, courteous, thorough and spoke excellent (non-accented) English. We were thrilled with her service and completely comfortable with her knowledge and expertise. Then it went back to corporate to give us the quote. There was basically nothing on the quote. It said "Carrier unit- 4 ton and Thermostat - total $xx,xxx". No models, no information about the list of things that would be replaced, no warranty information, no listing of the components, literally NOTHING except what I put above. We kept calling and asking for more information, but as of yet, 3 days later, we still have nothing. I have called multiple times and their AI rep just takes info and hangs up. You cannot talk to a human unless they call you back. read more

They quoted me $4500 for a split unit installed. I asked "If I go with Watts will you throw in a cleaning/servicing of my home unit included in the price?" They said they would. The installers said I needed to talk to my salesman about that. My salesman called me Thursday and told me he would get right back to me about being put on the schedule. Here it is Sunday and no word back. I was on hold on Friday for 23 minutes with nobody picking up to answer my question. The installers were great but the customer service has been horrible. I wish I would have gone with Frank Gay. read more

Charles M. Watts Air Conditioning - AC unit - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - Haines City, Florida

Very rude service man. Even though I was under warranty for the part I needed he wanted to put in one of his parts that cost over $350 and had I done that it would've cancel my warranty! He told me I could go ahead and wait for the cheap China made peace. And said he would see me next year. OMG. It also took one week to get that part. Not only that but it cost me $149 for shipping that part even though I'm under warranty. I'm 74 years old and live alone. This whole experience is unacceptable. Fortunately, after the part came in seven days later, a different technician came out and installed it. He was fine. I see that I'm not the only one that complains about Watts service. All I can say is beware. read more

I hired Watts AC Plumbing and Electric ON 6/14/2026 based on their advertised web site for supporting the local community and for being in business since 1979. The license holder is Leonard Watts. He must also be retired but still allows his license to be used even though he never once showed up to the work site to see why 19 times technicians had responded in the 38 days this project has been going on. If you were thinking of contracting Watts AC, you better have some knowledge of AC and Electrical because these guys don't. The work to be done was installing a Mitsubishi 42K 4 zone mini split and keep my old but working Central AC as a back-up. Hiring this contractor was the worst mistake I ever made. Some of the issues needing corrections include: 1. Most importantly NO NOC or Permit was ever applied for UNTIL AFTER the work was completed. I don't know why Polk County or Winter Haven tolerated this but I am glad. 2. The installer cut an AC electrical supply line while drilling a hole in my wall for the Head unit and tried repairing it with electrical tape, and placing the head unit to cover up the repair but I noticed demanded an electrician to Drop in a new line. The electrician used an 8-gauge wire for the new line. 3. The electrician expected that the 8-gauge wire and a 30amp garage breaker would be sufficient to power two AC units so I spoke to their manager and he sent another Electrician who spent no longer then 5 minutes and stated everything was good. 4. After complaining about the Electrical issue another Electrician finally was sent and replaced the 8-gauge wire with a 4-gauge wire and added an 80 Amp break to the supply only after mentioning that the electrical work won't pass inspection. There are other issues I haven't mentioned but the major ones are what I focused on. I do have some knowledge of both HVAC and Electrical and I am GRATIFUL I do. I hope Watts AC past customers that had AC's installed never had any of the major issues that I went through but I doubt I'm not the first. read more

Here we go again with Watts AC! About 2 months ago we had trouble with Watts showing up hours late with not only us but my mother in law also. They finally showed up to do our annual inspection and found nothing wrong with the less than one year old Lennox 3 ton unit that they installed new. Less than one month later, our unit was failing due to a leaking condenser coil. So now we are stuck with a bill for $1400 for the labor to replace the coil with a new one that was supplied Lennox. We went with another company because Watts has not impressed us with their service and we have had enough! I would think that if a proper annual inspection was done, they would have found the leak while still under warranty, and fixed it for free. I am convinced that the coil was leaking for quite a while and they just didnt check for leaks because it was basically a new unit. This leak was found barely three weeks after the so called annual inspection. This was not a large leak, but slowly going bad. Once again screwed by Watts over them not doing what they are paid to do. We definitely do NOT recommend this company. And this is so you know who gave this review Serial # 1924F36677 Lennox unit read more

Previous owners were awesome! New owners are unprofessional, rude, unfit ! Came out in a Monday charged $800 and 3 days later ac quit. Took 2 weeks for a response in the heat of summer and said sorry u need a new unit! Refund my $800 for inadequate service! Will continue to spread the word...they are silent! read more

I used to get supurb service before the original owner sold it last year. The guy came out today for the regular maintenance service stating my unit was not working properly ad that there were issues with the unit and the condenser. Long story short, he left my A/c unit on 74 and I was freezing in my house. The air ended up working non stop and I've even turned it up to 80 degrees and its still running! Normally the unit adjusted shortly after I changed the temp, since he was here its NOT operating like it normally did. Im now constantly receiving calls from them trying to come over to give me a price about a new unit! I used to highly recommend them-now I'm warning everyone about their customer service and what happened today. read more

Contacted them on Website Chat around 8pm Apr.2nd. Chat said someone would call me the next day. Our A/C wasn't blowing cold air. The next day, no call back so I called them around 11:30 am. Talked to Andrea and she said she would get back to me, never happened. Finally at 2pm we called a competitor and they showed up by 4:30 pm. Replaced the faulty part and were gone by 5:20pm. Watts installed and has serviced our A/C for over 11 years but we will not use them again! read more

If I could do 0 stars I would. This is about the new owners. Got a call from my elderly aunt about the service she received yesterday. Her system is only 3 years old and the tech proceeded to tell her that it needed to be replaced. She said no, just fix it. She got ready to write a check and asked the cost, she was told that since it was still under warranty the part was covered and the call would be $99. She wrote the check and asked for a receipt. She was told they do not provide receipts and that she would get a text or email a her receipt. Like many older people, she told him that she doesn't do business that way. Tech called his boss and came back and told her that if she wanted a paper receipt that it would cost her an additional $100. Were they trying to take advantage of the elderly? I think they were. Use caution when calling this company. read more

I have been using these guys for 20 some years. They even replaced system when it was time. I will say that there have been some times when I got a service technician who came up short. Not often, but it has happened. One technician who has always done a great job is Ned. read more

I phoned for an estimate. I was happy with the price, the unit and the accompanying warranty. They gave two prices one with full unit installation and one with the addition of all ductwork if needed. An appointment was made at a time suitable to me. They arrived as scheduled. The installers were extremely courteous and adhered to Covid protocols. The job was completed in a few hours and there was no attempt to sell me ducting as they said it was in tact and did not need replacing. So, how could I give less than 5 stars. They met my expectations, fulfilled their promises and charged the agreed upon price. No surprises and a great York unit. My neighbour watched the installation and was so impressed he ordered the identical unit on the spot. read more

My a/c went out yesterday 10/13 the tech name "Ray" came out but he did not have the part. He took the old one to make sure he get the right part. He came back this morning and I can proudly say my a/c is working. The tech was very nice person he was very trustworthy. From now on "WATT'S A/C" ONLY I will use for my a/c problems. Thanks again read more

The worst place! It's been six months since it took them 2 weeks to fix our unit that they kept not fixing correctly, and tried to charge us for all the rework they did wrong... and guess what... the stuff they fixed is broken yet again!!!! $900 to another company to try and get it fixed yet again, and they are fixing and flushing the same stuff that watts did again and again. I've paid more in repairs in this 3 year old unit then what I paid for it new. Mr Watts is rude, his office people rude and while the repair guys are nice they haven't fixed anything longer than 6 months. Don't waste you money people, go someplace else read more

So, off the recommendation of a few neighbors on this site I decided to contact Watts AC in Haines City. We made an appointment for yesterday (tuesday) and the guy came in the afternoon around 2pm. I happen to be working in the yard and when I saw him I said "hello, my husband's inside, you can go ahead and knock" all he said was ok and kept walking. Didn't introduce himself or anything. To make a long story a bit shorter he couldn't find the leak with the machine he had said he needed another one that he had left somewhere. He said he would have to come back later that day or tomorrow to find the leak. We said ok but were frustrated since it was not our fault he didn't come prepared. I asked him to please try to come the same day but to give us a call either way because we had appointments and plans the next day. He agreed. Well he didn't come back the day of and no call so I called the office Wednesday morning to which the lady put me on hold. She tells me that he did not put himself returning on dispatch and that he is getting me a quote for a coil and will call me. What!! He didn't even find the leak!!! I said I'm sorry but he needs to learn better communication, I asked him to call and now he isn't coming out and made me waste a day and now he is quoting me for a leak he didn't even find? CAN YOU BELIEVE THE LADY DIDN'T EVEN APOLOGIZE!! I kid you not, it was his mistake for not coming prepared, his mistake for not calling and his mistake for not planning on coming out again but I don't even deserve an apology? So after talking it over with my husband we decide to waste more time looking into another company. I called the office, told her we had talked earlier, she said okay?. I told her that we decided to go a different way because we weren't happy with how things went down and we weren't even told when to expect a quote, just that he would call. She interrupted me mid sentence and said I did tell you he would call. To which I replied yes but you didn't tell when, a few days? A week? She interrupted again and said when he could, you have a nice day, you have a nice day, you have a nice day, trying to shut me up. Very rude, Very unprofessional. I am tired of bad service. People and companies in general feel so entitled, YOU NEED US mentality when in reality THEY NEED US, the consumer. I see it all the time and I am over it. The only bad service I expect is from a debt collector. Most importantly LEARN TO COMMUNICATE! Sorry for long post but I needed to share. read more

I call Wednesday morning the first tech came about 130pm and said it was the transformer, but didn't have the right one in the truck. He left and came back install the new one. The fan came on but not the outside unit which he said he check. The office sent another tech back he kept saying it's my BRAND NEW THERMOSTAT after I told him the outside unit not coming on. He keep messing with what the first tech did complaining that he should have, could have, would have instead of checking outside. He call another tech who diagnose the problem in 2 mins. It needed a contactor which cost $35-$45 and they charge me $152. Which I should have only paid for the part since the first tech left on 10 mins before I call the office back. And the office manager Nigel keep talking about over head to come out when he know that the first tech didn't check out side and I was told that I only have to pay for the part. These people mark up the price and want show you the price book. They are a damn RIP off DON'T CALL THEM GO TO SOMEONE ELSE. I could have save $100 if I could have waited until Friday for Commander AC Repairs to come out but my mother in law was coming from Jamaica and I couldn't wait. read more
